Not sure if a bet for top trainer counts as ante post but I have just had £2 at 110 on Philip Hobbs. He may not win any of the championship races although stranger things have happened than Capt. Chris winning the Gold Cup. He is though in great form at present, has a good Cheltenham record and has several decent shots at handicaps, particularly Fingal Bay, If In Doubt and Balthazar King. The market is on number of wins and although it is hard to see past Mullins, Philip looks likely to be well in contention.

Bally been looking at Lieutenant on his runs against Vautour and Wicklow Brave, step up in trip may suit massive horse may have some e/w,as need back up to Faugheen hopefully.

This is quite interesting for Irving's chances
In the Dovecote, 2012 4yo winner Grumeti’s 3rd in the Triumph Hurdle is the only place effort to come from the last 9 runners to have gone on to Cheltenham the following month. 0 winners 1 place in last 9 years. |

Vautour looks weak on here so Wicklow Brave NRNB 8-1 in Supreme added

Same here added Western Boy yesterday, lets hope all ok?
By:
Topped up on Western Boy and Valseur given doubts re Vautour.

I think Nick Williams will win at least one and his donkey in the Cross Country is interesting. Not a speed machine and one run since last year. Looks like his missus has it and should make top 4 at around 6/1. Done a crazy ew trixie Zig at 100/1 Champion which should cut up more and place would be a good start, Sam at 16/1 RSA and Rocher 7/1 Triumph with VC.

By:
started ante post latest ever ... mid jan and wish now .I'd given it a miss .already plenty clouds over chelts ,that's only trainers and drugs ,, and horses not getting a run ....weather and winds ..got my weatherproof gear out and that's for watching T.V. ......?

Starting to look at the Handicaps now,few in mine for while, first up Clondaw Kaempfer in Coral has entries in 2 other handicaps though but think may go in Coral 20/1 nr no bet pp.
By:
Added Carlingford Lough at ew 12-1 to Ballycasey (10-1) & Morning Assembly (16-1)
Don't think there is much between these 3 and could see Carlingford Lough outstaying them. |
By:
Started looking at the handicaps when 365 went NRNB, but added a couple yesterday now that Paddy is doing the same, at largely better prices.
Un Temps Pour Tout - Coral Cup 14/1 NRNB Sure Reef - Coral Cup 16/1 NRNB Dell Arca - County Hurdle 14/1 NRNB Took the Iriving and Big Bucks 14/1 Paddy Power offer a couple of days ago, and added Quevega at 6/4 today. |

Couldn't resist few quid Arctic Fire in County Hurdle, think that is 6 or 7 Mullins winners ive backed and haven't touched Briar Hill lol.
By:
I still think that Philip Hobbs is a crazy price for top trainer. Shame there is no market without Mullins as I would really steam in to that. Balthazar King, Fingal Bay, If In Doubt, Champagne West, Menorah ,Captain Chris, Garde La Victoire, Wishful Thinking, Colour Squadron, Persian Snow, Cheltenian all have realistic chances and a few others might step up in handicaps.

Tuesday's bets:-
CF @ 8/1 - also backed him to win any race at the festival at 7/2. Midnight Prayer @ 25/1 EW. Also backed him for a place only on here at 5/1. Did my dough on Moyle Park in November when I backed CF. Little EW interest in the forum plunge horses, Josses Hill (no chance) and Hadrians Approach in multiples. I might back Irving in the morning but no other bets for me tomorrow apart from the placepot(thank goodness!). |
