I remember Nicholls doing that with another novice Seemore Business. I thought he was a certainty and probably was in hindsight but fell . I was shaken, but have now recovered.

He's up against quite a bit of experience and quality for his first run, a decent performance and he'll be right in the RSA picture. |

Yes...he must have, my heart's all aflutter, I e-mailed them a couple of weeks ago about him and.....Rebecca!! e-mailed me back saying he'll be out soon and she's got high hopes for him over fences....

I think Morning Assembly really needs another run before the rsa. That lough horse done really well, and has his chances. The only thing that concerns me about Morning assembly is the clock.

Has anyone heard any news about plans for INISH ISLAND ? 3rd in Albert Bartlett last year and not been out since finishing 2nd to Morning Assembly at Punchestown in 3m G1 in April and beating Ballycasey in to 3rd. Would be of interest if he is due to go Chasing at some stage.

Well its good news cos ive backed him for the RSA,and the 4 miler was an option.
Whether the break will harm his chances I don't know, but it seems connections aint bothered mate. |

Really struggling to get a hold on this race at the moment, but very wide open at 8/1 the field.
Ballycasy is unbackable at 8's and is a terible price imo. Well done to those who are on in the 20's, but I don't know how anyone can justify 8/1 at this stage. I've been impressed with Sam Winner, and feel that he has a touch of class, so I think it would be a shame to send him to the 4 miler. Morning Assesmbly has also impressed me in Ireland, but he was beaten by Carlingford Lough, and I remember McCoy saying that he thought he might be below top class, and more of a solid handicapper (that's not me writing him off by the way). I think the visor did wonders for Annacotty and was very impressed with him in the Feltham. Connections think he still has a very workable mark, so can understand them taking in a handicap chase on trials day this weekend. If he wins that off 144, he must head to the RSA with a live chance. So, I'd like Sam Winner if he were to be aimed at it, and Annacotty and Carlingford Lough both look very solid, without looking like potential stars. |

Yeh, I like Sam Winner as well,but Le Bec has to be in your thoughts I would think, going on the race at Cheltenham in December.
Its another wide open race, with plenty of value somewhere!! Finding it is the problem, but great that we have so many open races this year at this stage. |

Im on Ballycasey at 36 on here and 33/1 SJ and I'm less than delighted with his prep and am bemused about his current price!! 8/1 for a horse which had hardly seen the track in his career and one chase run was over 2m!!
Don't get me wrong, I would LOVE him to win, especially if Faugeen does the Neptune as I've got a 389/1 £10 EW double, but I don't get why they didn't get more experience into him before the ground got too soft |

True Budd. I thought that race was off levels, until I just checked, and didn't realise SW was getting a decent chunk of weight, so yes, Le Bec definitely has to enter the equation.

That's a very good bet though Tory, although he shouldn't be shorter than Carlingford Lough or Morning Assembly in the betting imo.

It is Wellchief, thanks. Very happy with Faugheen position but can't get the minimum 3 chase runs required out of my head for Ballycasey.
It's only a good bet if it comes in but is a nice position to be in. If Faugheen goes in the next 35 mins may be unbearable!! Struggling to get a real hold on this race all in all. Massive stats race and has served me well over the past few yrs but for one reason or another pretty much all of the main contenders are going to fall down on one point or another. |

Tory,I'm with you this is a massive stats race and I've usually got this by the balls at this stage but at present the race has me by the balls with Ballycasey who can't win now and Morning Assembly ain't winning with no Jan/Feb prep like the last 49 winners of this. I don't see much else to go at though. It looks a piss poor year
