Wouldn't be too hard on AG, most of Hendo's look like they needed the run I thought. The winner of the RSA runs @ Punchestown tomorrow though. Step aside for The Don

He's trained by Twiston not Hendo.

African Gold will come on for the run. Was a difficult race for his bow over fences but can't pretend I'm not disappointed. Not sure Nige made a very good decision not getting a run into him before this.
By:
It was a difficult race to start off in, no doubt about that. He has won that race 5 times in the past and each of his previous winners had a run already in October. I looked it up before the race.

Well that was a lot better from Corbally Ghost, not far behind CFever and he clouted one quiet badly.
Was running on nicely at the end and the extra distance of the RSA should suit him. |

Let's see what Morning Assembly has in the locker.
By:
indeed Greame, very interesting race coming up
By:
although i think this morning assembly looks a very nice horse moving forward is anyone concerned he is a winter ground horse??
anyway today's ground not that soft so questions will be answered moving forward with him |

2 gooduns there
By:
don't be offended but he is a rat for me that don cossack
By:
what you mean Harry?

Have to say DC doesnt seem the most willing in a battle
By:
Pretty happy with that! Not much between them but I would fancy MA even more over further at Cheltenham.
By:
I mean budd... he isn't willing in a battle

touche sonko

yeh, thought that was what you meant, and if that's true I don't see him winning an RSA.

Nice run |

Ballycasey out tomorrow. Think he could be a big player in this. Schooling has gone very well according to mullins in rp today
By:
Surprised by this quote given he won well over 17f today...Ballycasey.
Patrick Mullins, representing his father, said: "He jumped fantastic and he had been schooling brilliantly. "He liked that bit of better ground. Ruby said he was going as fast as he wanted to and he'll probably go up in trip now but it was great that he was able to win over that distance. "He'll go for a novice race at Christmas and I'll try and twist dad's arm and get him to run him in the four-mile race (at the Cheltenham Festival). |
By:
Didn't hear Paddy interviewed but I hope that was tongue in cheek!

By:
Guess it must be given he would take the ride, thinking about it.
By:
He will go where they think he has the best chance of winning. He looked good, have to admit.
By:
looked good alright, jumped well and will be a lot better over further.Stepping up in trip now.
Nice to get 25/1 for mullins RSA horse. |
By:
Could Inish Island be the Mullins RSA horse ? Anyone know the plans for this one ?
By:
I would expect Ballycasey to be the Mullins RSA horse. A great run today over an inadequate trip.
By:
African Gold is entered over 19.5f at Exeter next week. Not sure on the trip myself unless it's Soft or worse. Oscar Whisky in the same race.
By:
Don't think Ballycasey has anything to worry about from Don Cossack and co today, although I do think if Road to Riches was ridden with a bit more restraint he could improve to be a contender, jumped much the best out of that lot today.
By:
Agree budd. RTR jumped by far the best of the first 3.
By:
Interesting sint. Would find it quite surprising if Dai Walters wanted both horses in the same race.
By:
Good point, had forgotten the Owner.
Not sure why Ballycasey is getting top billing yet. He won well on debut but it seems as if every novice WPM sends out is going to win in March. It's odds-on he has no winners. |
By:
Hes top of my list Sint, fwiw.
Just given me a greater impression than any other I have seen so far. Jumped really well, and to have the speed to win over 2m when he obviously stays a lot further can only be a good thing. Of course a long way to go and its a competitive year for nov chasing by the looks of it,so not getting carried away, but for me hes the best RSA prospect ive seen at this stage. |
By:
Not knocking the horse Budde. But punters generally are falling over themselves to back the WPM horses. Who knows, he may have 5 or 6 winners, but Briar Hill, Faugheen, CF, and Ballycasey are all seemingly winning their respective races. Maybe we should do a £10 acca at ante-post prices.
![]() ![]() |
By:
With ante-post as we all know the Novice races are harder to guess which race they may go for,as you say Sint Mullins has handful in each race. The only way to go is nr/free bet, which I have done with Faugheen and Ballycasey, Neptune and Sun Alliance I hope,if they are not good enough they wont run so free bet on day.
By:
Sint you old mindreader!
Last week I did a life-changing Lucky 31 featuring Moyle Park, Faugheen and Ballycasey, which I thoroughly expect to be ack-acked out of the sky come Christmas and certainly by the Monday of Cheltenham week, when Mullins declares them in the 'wrong' races! |
By:
rtb
Have another go on Billys 'win at the 2014 Festival'! I think sint is being a bit conservative with Willie's 5/6 winners...... ![]() |
By:
Yeah ff
But the nature of these ante-post accumulators, for me, is you fully expect them to lose, so may as well get the biggest prices anyway. Take your point as a general punting principle though, re risk management. |
By:
Rog. I can see the appeal in doing it. I'm just hoping there is one that will soon reveal itself at a double figure price that will beat Willie's in the hurdles. For the RSA I think the Many Clouds / Just A Par form from last season is really strong as these two were always going to be better chasers. Both still 20/1 +, Ballycasey is 14 in one place, as low as 8 in another! |
By:
Sint you say its odds on WPM will have no winners - I presume you mean no novice winners. I reckon if you offered odds against him having none you would be knocked down in the rush (I would be first in queue). If the 8 novice non-hcap festival races were run this week its probably safe to say that WM would provide 7 or 8 of the favourites - does not not neccessarily mean they would win of course but .... Ballycasey was 25s nrfb prior to his recent run.
By:
Was referring to the Novice races yeah. Btw the NRFB concession is a max stake of £50, which is fine, but I don't think it should be banded about like it is available to everyone.
