I normally count next weeks Chepstow meeting as the start, but I'm changing it to today in my world. The 4.35 Gowran Champion Chase Clarcam, Shanahan´s Turn, Texas Jack, Alelchi Inois, Cailin Annamh, Devils Bride, Indevan. Looks like the seasons started[

Cracking card this weekend at Chepstow, looking forward to it.

^^^^ Definitely. We'll be doing an 8 hour round trip to go - can't wait that the NH season is kicking into gear!

Very good card but left a lot of unanswered questions about the better class novice chasers. Cocktails at Dawn quite impressive but what did he beat? Its aClose Call needs good ground and would have been beaten by Beast of Burden but for the fall.

I think i will give up on The New One for Cheltenham at least, he may well mop up the Hurdle races here against the British hurdlers but when Willie sends over his mob he will be in trouble.

Just got back from Aintree, and I am a small shareholder in Sound Investment. What a day; managed to get an owners badge in the week, and rub shoulders with the like of Jonjo O'Neill and Phillip Hobbs in the parade ring. When he won, everyone was going crazy, and we all ran to the winners enclosure to greet him, and the icing on the cake was going up to collect the trophy.
I can't recommend the Owners Group highly enough. For £50 per year per horse, you get the chance to get an owners badge like I did, and I have also got a free tour of Paul Nicholls stables as part of his owners open day. You never get your money back in prize money as this is just a hobby, but being associated with such a horse is fantastic, and being in the winners enclosure of one of the most famous racecourses in the world, having just won a Grade 2 is something I'll never forget. On to the Paddy Power next! .....the next one for me is Nexius, a 2,5m novice chaser making his chasing debut on Tuesday for Paul Nicholls too. Just to make it that little bit more special was that I got to give Monets Garden a little pet on the face as he was walking round the parade ring - only in NH racing could you get such an experience for a one of £50 fee. |

Sounds like a great day chief.
Have to agree, the monthly newsletter is very good also. I also have shares in the owners group novice hurdler bagad bihoue. Unfortunately there were no owner's day tickets left but have been offered a stable tour at the end of january. |

Excellent Scooby. Two of my mates have got shares in Bagad Bihoue too - he looked impressive in his only bumper win in France, so good luck to you.
I had shares in Tercel too, before he was sold a few months ago to go back on the flat - it's an excellent inexpensive way to get into the sport. Nexius was a half decent 142 rated hurdler for Keith Dalgleish, but PFN appears to be really bullish about him as a chaser. The dream is to get an owners badge at the festival....very unlikely but you never know! |

That would be the dream, would be nice to think one of the owners group horses can make it to the festival. Will be interesting to see how they all get on, and gives an extra interest going into the jumps season.
