On one of the many and various David Pipe / Grands Crus threads a few of us got around to looking at Kazlian in the Fred Winter, one contributor going as far as to suggest it's this season's Pipe 'Imperial Cup / Cheltenham Bonus' horse.

good idea marychain......give a deadline for suggestions and then count the votes....most votes we all put a small stake on and have a laugh knowing our littlr community are all screaming on course, in the pub, at the TV etc !!

My vote would be Join Together in the RSA (not had any bet on him yet)

I'd go for De Boitron(Ferdy Murphy) - Grand Annual, last race, last day. Laugh

Sounds a plan!

Given I'll probably never knowingly meet 99% of the contributors to our little sewing circle, it'd be some kind of weird punting 'bond' knowing a fair few of us had slung a speculative fiver (no more - don't want to kill the price, right kidz?) at something at the Festival and were all going mental for him wherever we are across the nation.

I think it should be a handicap good thing

handicap would be good...price maybe better.  Whatever it is (and we will all have to be trusted obviously)...once it is announced we agree to put a small waher on the majority opinion..........then see the charge to get the price on here and see it tumble!!! now that would be a giggle knowing it was us influencing the price Laugh

Grand idea.

Imo better to be a handicapper. Something in the coral cup or couny hurdle maybe.

in 2 weeks time the runners will be a lot clearer.

Imagine the scenes on here as our coral cup punt does a whats up boys and comesfrom nowhere to get up on the line as we grasp our 33/1 tickets! LaughLaugh

Better still, imagine the confusion on Tanya's face as she reports a huge plunge on the exchanges on 'Someoldrogue' - and then the betting shop lemmings follow suit!

Haha.

It'll end up with a dozen or so of us congratulating each other and the other 59,98 people seething looking on in envy. '' How on earth did they back that thing '' they mutter under their breath as we sip anothr glass of bolinger!

We just nee to find a winner now! Laugh

Great idea, I'm in. Now to dig one out. Early nominations would be Shoegazer or Wise Old Owl (don't know if he's going), but look forward to whatever is chosen. Cool

Making it one of the handicaps sounds like a good idea. Think we'll all have our own ideas about most of the Championship races. I especially like the idea of it being in the Grand Annual, last up. But it doesn't have to be...

Kazalian will likely be pretty really short anyway should it go for the bonus but remains a possiblity, especially if it goes straight for the FW.

Suggestions so far:

De Boitron (Grand Annual)
Sonofvic (Pertemps)

Certainly am 180. Rated 141 over hurdles yet ran in the 150's on his debut over fences.... If you forgive him his last run, and with normal improvement he could end up being chucked in.

Will be interesting how they play it with his mark between now and March mind you.

CCM hurdling has not been his plan though has it ? They are going back hurdling because they dont feel he is ready yet .. doesn't that put you off ?

I have had a few quid on Tango De Juilley for the FW. He has carried a 10lb pen in both his novice hurdles so far and ran a respectable 4th in the Grade 2 Triumph Hurdle trial behind Grumeti and co lto gaining experience of the track. He is 5lb better off with the favourite Vendor for a 1.5 length defeat at Newbury and see absolutley no reason why one horse is 5/1 and the other is 25/1.

Venetia Willaims ran Tenor Nivernais to finish an unlucky 7th last year, fwiw.

ROUDOUDOU VILLE

Hurdling hadnt been the plan Sint... but not being ready for fences is different to not being ready as a horse imo. If they didnt think he was ready for an RSA, I think its a really shrewd move to do this, and think he could still have a very productive time over hurdles.

The run behind Grands Crus looks outstanding form to me.

Absolutely great idea - let's go for a real dark one. Completely agree that a handicap would be the best plan. Would be great to see a little impact made - maybe we should all get on overnight so that the morning worm catchers get a shock when they see some Irish-trained juvenile with no form to its name has halved in price for the Fred Winter...

The cricket boys did something similar last winter. They all agreed on a six leg retirement acca on the Ashes series that they would eack stick £20 on, to try and take one of the high st bookies for £10m+, I can't remember which one. Needless-to-say it didn't come in, but it would've been funny watching some middle-order no mark getting shortened up to 1.21 to top score a la Fujiyama Crest when they realised their liabilities.
I love the idea of doing that and would happily pledge a score.

Something along the lines of:-
Sprinter Sacre 9/4
Zarkander W/O HF 9/2
Bobs Worth 5/1
Ruby Light 6/1
Adds up to about a 500/1 acca and then have the last leg a fancied runner in the Grand Annual off close to 10 stone and at about 8/1. It would only take a hundred of us to take £10m+.
Of course, I now have to have that acca myself, having posted it.......

its a  likely  4or 5 timer ..
looks like  ,     5or 6  timer  for a  score ,  as good as a  wee lottery up.  count me in .

not sure a definite  horse  but can run with what seems  a fair  chance decent price once a last leg  is decided , ..... does this seem o.k.   ,,not  at  chelts so don't matter  shout last one in from my armchair in the  boozer  be O.K.  ...?
