Bobsworth not mentioned??

If it aint,it is now.Very impressive considering 1st time out over 6 furlongs too short.

I also think Bob's Worth could become a serious chaser over 3m+.

Surprised no one put up SONOFVIC last week - PF Nicholls/DA Jacob - (Ruby rode treble for WPM in Thurles that day)......

HE put it up to a very fit Cheltenham winner in Grands Crus (receiving 7 lbs i no) BUT still, HE was only returning from a 278 day break and straight into a (Grade 2) 3m Chase for his beginners chase !!!
Lucky owner (Mrs Angela Hart) also has Kyllachy Storm (6 time winner).

Another informative Saturday which confirmed that Sizing Europe is a very good horse when every thing is in his favour. Al Ferof won again but only by a length at level weights. Tetlami added to the long list of Henderson contenders for the top novice hurdles but only one of them can win the Supreme and I doubt if he is the best of them. Cinders and Ashes confirmed his promise at Aintree but does he have the speed to win on good ground?

If we're imcluding Friday, Fingal Bay showed a good turn of foot of what weas admittedly a dawdle to put a lot of daylight between him and a good yardstick in Sizing Symphony.

What doe he go for at the Festival though?

BOG WARRIOR (although he WILL NOT RUN in Cheltenham on anything other than soft imho so is bigtime NRNB for me !)

Catch Me ifyoucan 30 Nov 11 20:08
Agreed - BOG runs, BOG wins !

AND you would have to be impressed with both Sous Les Cieux and "The ground was pretty tacky today but he handled it and I think he'll go on good ground as well." - WPM

and (Dermot Weld said of) Galileo's Choice: "We'll wait for the spring with him now.
"He'll get one run before possibly going to Cheltenham for the Supreme Novice.
"I'm delighted with the way he kept at it today and that was an outstanding novice hurdle."

Must also mention Sir Des Champs who looked a natural on his chasing bow at Fairyhouse on sat.

The long odds-on favourite only had Gran Torino and a couple of fences to worry about in the straight and he eased on from before the last to score by eight and a half lengths.
Mullins said: "He jumped very economically and efficiently.
"We'll get him out for something at Christmas. He's well entered up – he is in everything.
"He could go over longer, though I don't like running them over three miles too soon.
"He could learn a lot going back over two miles at Leopardstown (Racing Post Novice on St Stephen's Day). ONE FOR THE NOTEBOOK Wink

Obviously DK has forgotten more than I'll ever know about racing, but cant believe he felt the Royal BOnd was an 'outstanding novice hurdle'. Looked seriously lacking in depth, even if the first two could be anything.

undoubtedly the highest level of form was produced by Grandouet with an expected RPR of 165+ which no other runner will come close to achieving

Sprinter Sacre clearly has the potential to achieve high ratings over fences - looks Grade 1 material already.

Sea of Thunder would have produced a big number had he stood up and won say 145 ish for winning a Grade 2 by 6 lengths +. The way he was going he may have pulled even further clear

I remain convinced Great Endeavour is at least 8 to 10lb better than QE and that makes him a 170 horse imho. He might end up a Ryan Air horse.

When: 11 Dec 11 18:27
Sea of Thunder was very unlucky but it was a poor 3 mile novice chase for the track.

Grandouet put up the best performance for me. Fast run race courtesy of Overturn, travelled and jumped well and was obliging when asked to quicken. Will be suprised if he is a Champion Hurdle horse but you can only beat what is in the field on the day.

I was at Fairyhouse the other week, and Bog Warrior was hugely impressive, by  far the best performance I have seen by any horse this season so far. Won a G1 by 31 lengths, he actually reminded me of Denman in his pomp, the way he just galloped them silly. When he popped the last he sprinted to the line, 3miles well within his range Ishould say.

The Ascot novice hurdle won by Broadbackbob from Cinders and Ashes, Dance Tempo and Ted Spread could turn out to be a very informative race. The next 2 home, Double Ross and Tindaro were also very interesting prospects.

Certain that one one or two will end up in the Supreme imho

Did you notice these 3 (in bold) winning in the last few days !!! Devil

Yes stevo1,
RUBI LIGHT was impressive, but needs soft as we know great price i thought today.

....took some notable scalps (Joncol and Cooldine to mention only two)....his first Grade 1

....improving six-year-old.....true test of stamina from the front in the heavy conditions
"After being on the easy list and missing a couple of bits of work, it was a hell of a run....would come on from that....obviously he loved the ground” - Robbie Hennessy

- "We’ll look at the Lexus now. It’s something to look forward to. That will tell us if we have a Gold Cup horse or a Ryanair horse....He’s only six so he’s going the right way"....

12/1 from 16/1 with a few for the Ryanair (3rd last year).

Yesterday's maiden hurdle at Newbury looked pretty good, admittedly on soft ground. Colour Squadron beat Motbazon 1 l. Ericht in 19 l third was 3 l third to Prospect Wells and Steps to Freedom at Cheltehnam on 11/11 The fourth, War Singer, will pick up a decent handicap somewhere.

I thought Ericht didn't run up to the form of his Cheltenham run which looked very impressive first time out over hurdles. I will be disappointed if he isn't better than this. Any thoughts?

Montbazon should fund a summer holiday if you are so inclined.
By:

When: 16 Dec 11 12:22
I'm inclined to agree that Ericht is better than he showed on Wednesday - he didn't appear to like the very tacky ground (I note the race was 32 s beow standard time!). Like you, I thought he looked impressive at Cheltenham given it was his debut, and he's in the very best hands for a hurdler. I think the first 4 in Wednesday's race will all turn out to be good horses, perhaps very good. Overall, a very good race for a maiden hurdle run on a Wednesday!

Must mention the 5yo (previous Grade 1 winner) Zaidpour who may be coming of age after high expectations last season.

Also DON COSSACK deserves a line even (even if it is premature in term of Cheltenham 2013).

Make Your Mark certainly made an impression.

Gigginstown House and Davy Russell started a day filled with promise with a facile victory for unbeaten Make Your Mark in the two-and-a-half-mile maiden hurdle at Leopardstown.

The 4/5 favourite (backed in from evens) has now won a point-to-point, a bumper and a hurdle race and looks a tremendous addition to the jumping ranks.

Russell sat the Willie Mullins-trained four-year-old gelding in second as Mystic Desir cut out the pace. When this one jumped violently right and was pulled up by Robbie Power Make Your Mark was tanking along at the head of affairs.
At the second last he put in a superb jump to take several lengths out of the pack and from there coasted home from his 16 rivals to win by 10 lengths from 7/2 second favourite Competitive Edge. 25/1 shot Heaney came home third another 13 lengths away.

Trainer Willie Mullins said: “Davy was very pleased with him. I told him not to worry if there was no pace as could make his own way home. He’ll go the novice hurdle route.
“We were afraid earlier in the season that he would be too keen but he does seem to settle in his races.
“He’ll move up the pecking order after that. He doesn’t do anything flashy at home but when you ask him a question he answers it.
“I thought he might be more of a stayer but he shows more class than I thought.”

Sean Graham make the winner a 10/1 shot for the Neptune Investments Hurdle at Cheltenham.

Many of the Giggenstown runners are proving very impresssive. Mr Ryan Air has built a formidable array of horses for The Festival.

No mention of Kauto Star in this thread? Impressive at Kempton and has a live GC chance.

Have to agree with all comments about Grands Crus. Will throw in Finian's Rainbow who, having badly blundered in his race at Kempton, showed his class.

Is it only 10 wks to Cheltenham?

SPRINTER SACRE certainly stamped his authority over Peddlers X during the week with Barry in the saddle - Reading his blog on ATR he says Sprinter Sacre is the real deal and I would say expects to win.

I have to say I was quite taken by the horse (MONKSLAND)...getting 3lbs he won easy and for a horse who didn't jump with any real fluency at all, he must have some engine...he can go on to better things, if the tail swishing which was apparent on the run in isn't a sign of things to come, in regards temperament...time will tell us on that front, but has to be rated to be pretty decent and 16-1 is a nice price for the neptune considering better ground is bound to suit him much better...the horses in behind had useful form (included Lyreen Legendand Dedigout) and if the jumping improves which it might given better ground he can go on to better things...he isn't flashy but he certainly looks a nice prospect...

Captain Conan the 5yo's all out win of the Novices Grade 1 Tolworth Hurdle (his debut for Henderson/Geraghty) on his 3rd run (even if Colour Squadron did hang left after the last).
