Which race who you go for? You could be onto something with the JP gamble if he heads to the county.
|
By:
sshh!!!
|
By:
Why sshhh a 3 yo can see this plot ... McManus must think we all read fkin Ladybird books.
|
By:
I'm saying ssshh ! - 'cause you'll ruin the price !!
|
By:
2012 Coral Cup imo, he'll be down in the weights by then
|
By:
They should never drop this horse in the weights just to take the p1ss back.
|
By:
Well he wont get dropped much this year anyway!!, depends how much water the clerk splashes on the course imo for this lads prospects
|
By:
This years Coral Cup imo
|
By:
bookies slash his price across the boards at cheltenham on the day of whatever race he is running in.....
punters assume the gamble is on and wade in.... meanwhile jp chuckles to himself as everyone has been watching this horse and ignoring his real plot horse... who is it..i dont know and i guess a case for gmooh could be made on his 3 runs this year as he hasnt been given the usual mccoy treatment in the saddle but he hasnt looked likely to win any of the races he has contested in running imo and with it being johnjo/ap/jp a sudden return to the form of last year wouldnt be the biggest shock of the season for me but i wouldnt be going max bet on this fella...maybe a couple of points e/w at most. |
By:
Think he's a better horse on a sound surface though
|
By:
Yeah Coral Cup Max Bet
|
By:
He will have more than one plot agree.
|
By:
ideed he will eric
be nice to find one of them to pay for the days racing or even the 4 days [;)] |
By:
lads jonjo will empty ur pockets, youll be potless THEN he'll get back, might 2013
|
By:
Amazing the stewards let them get away with it, do they want punters to be put off betting in the major handicaps of the season where they will make their biggest profits.
|
By:
...bookmakers will make their biggest profits..
|

It would be a tough act to win Coral Cup or Martin Pipe Hurdle of likely top weight (assuming 150 mark) over an unknown trip, usually some likely low weights knocking about.
Perhaps a stronger field in the county and over his preferred 2 miles, I think this is the race it will go for. Although, still likely to be top weight albeit perhaps a slightly compressed hcap. Better chance here. |
By:
don't think he'll win off current mark(150).
|
By:
i just really admire mccoy and i hate to see these connections make him ride like this.
|
By:
agree with Swardean re county needs a fast 2 miles not a longer trip.
|
By:
you're all missing it....he'll have another in the race gmooh is in....a few rumours will go out about how this is the day....every man and his dog lumps on....then jp steps in and smashes the other one off the boards
|
By:
They really should be pulled for his form this season. Menorah beat him a head off levels, he beat Dunguib and Oscar Whisky in the same race. They should be looking into this horses runs this season. The Supreme and then today it's very very obvious but I don't think even they can pull a stunt this season after these runs and tender rides.

if as people are suggesting that gmooh is going to be a big gamble for the festival and has been layed out for a festival gamble and has not been trying in his 3 races this season then i have an issue with this that no one seems to be picking up on.
the horse ran off a mark of 150 in the tote gold trophy today and was soundly beaten. however if the horse is dropped 2 or 3 pounds to a mark of 147/148 then that is all he is going to get being completely realistic. now using the logic that mcmanus and co will plough into the horse at the festival in one of the handicap hurdles and taking that the horse will win even. great it seems. however if the horse is capable of winning a handicap hurdle in the usual 20+ runner fields that almost always line up then surely the horse has the class to line up in the champion hurdle or world hurdle and be very competitive. why not run the horse on its merits all season and see if the horse can be a champion. is that not what racing is all about? that being said i think and hope the horse has physical problems that can explain the running of the horse this season and that whatever problem can be sorted out. |
By:
How about Jonjo doesn't even send him to Cheltenham which is even more likley.
|
By:
What planet are some people on?This horse clearly hasn't improved from last year some horses do some don't and imo he hasn't.What do people want? his winning chance had gone from a way out AP didn't beat him up simple as that. The stable are badly out of form at present and i agree that there could be physical problems. To suggest that AP pulls or stops horses is an insult to the man and the sport of National Hunt Racing
|
By:
I remember saying something very similar about Don't push it bigben, not with this outfit, I'd watch out for Backspin myself in a handicap.

incredible comment magic, i literally cannot believe what i just read, i have to go and sit down, good night

So if you owned Binocular you wouldn't send the horse to another race or another meeting? I know the Champ Hurdle is a really competitive affair but why try and beat the best horse in the race with another horse you own that could be maybe win or place in a different race? |
By:
Ilikewavingatbuses-People sometimes cannot accept that theres maybe a reason why a particular horse appears to run below par.Maybe it is due to a variety of reasons as i stated in my earlier post but because its trained and owned by connections who are synonymous with landing gambles skulduggery is shouted by some rather than it being possible its for any other reason.I'm not naive i'm all too aware of how the placement of horses works as well as how the handicap system is exploited to the advantage of horses but it just grates on me when certain people jump to conclusions and start accusing people of pulling horses.

I backed GMOOH today and said straight after the race will go off as a heavily backed favourite in the County Hurdle
|
By:
duffy is right imo, they are making it so obvious this horse isnt wanted that he is a likely decoy for something else. If there are 2 in the race you need to watch both.
This is the equivalent of the referee turning a blind eye to dives in the penalty box ... the stewards should be shot what a bunch of t0ssers they are. |
By:
They are possibly going to play the long game with GMOOH. They can afford to.
|
By:
3 times now magic THREE times. and even a rare moment when a professional pundit (hislop) comes out and comments it was that bad. just because she says anything doesnt mean shes right but the fact that she felt strongly about it speaks volumes and i for one support her 100% having seen 3 utterly abysmal rides for the champion jockey.
and i've not a dount in my mind this horse will improve markedly at some stage in his career and then we'll all see but still nothing will be done. |
By:
Yeah I think Backspin will see a 'return to form' also after being backed last time and doing people's dough.
|
By:
Do you seriously believe that on any of the 3 occassions that GMOOH would have won or placed in any of those 3 races even if AP would of knocked the daylights out of the horse? As for L Hislop she is not a profesional pundit she is a journalist and television presenter

So firstly this horse is being pulled and will be the biggest certainty ever to look through a bridle in his chosen target at the festival........ No wait a minute now he's a "decoy" and some other horse will land the big coup.............. As for Backspin, yes they have really got him well handicapped off 150. People on this forum have been telling me you are a clown for ages. I can see what they mean. Buses . I hope and expect that GMOOH will come back to form at some stage. If and when he does I expect all this will flare up again. When it does just consider the possibility that the horse has a problem at the moment. He's just not finishing his races. TBH this applies to every horse Jonjo has run in the last fortnight. |
