he never whips the horse, he doesnt push him like he pushes other horses, he doesnt give his 100%= non trier!

why is this horse running in races if its not right? so they run it the 1st time this season...its a major drifter, and doesnt place. so trainer thinks, thats not his running, we'll have to get him checked out, they find nothing.

he runs the 2nd time, again a drifter, again ap is particularly easy on him yet again just like his last ride on him, again trainer/jockey, the horse was keen but not so keen that it was 2 furlongs behind the winner, again not whipped, i believe the race results says 'nudged along, soon weakened', neve whipped, never vigorously ridden, just allowed to drop back thru the field on the bridle.

yesterday, again bad drifter, again ap v easy on him, just nursed along an allowed to travel back thru the field in his own time, never one did he go for the horse, the horse hasnt been whipped since the supreme novice.

mccoy isnt trying on this horse.

Chased leaders, challenging when hit 3 out, well there next[;)], weakened soon after

Took keen hold, held up in 9th, effort 3 out and in touch, nudged alongLaugh and no headway 2 out, faded

and again look at the distance he finished behind menorah and has put in a bad run b4 and after that race now, why isnt he being reassessed by the handicapper, surely hes atleast 10-15lbs worse than last yr? why isnt he doing this?

This is getting a bit boring one more shot.

If you can name me a top class horse that has had his mark dropped "10-15 lb" on the back of 2 below par runs I'll give you a coconut.

It just doesn't work like that.

No coconut,Zilzal.

In the KG he ran off 190 just 3lb below his all time high.
We are talking official ratings here.According to the Sporting Life Kauto is still rated 190. Even if that is incorrect he will have been dropped further after 3 runs not 2.

Well according to the post, KS was still 190 on King George Day and appears to be 174 now, i admit its a bit of a drastic dropConfused

I fully expect a News of the World expose on Jackdaws Castle in the not too distant future, has the potential to make Bollinger Ridge look like small change

Dont know if its right thoughConfusedas they still have him on 190 in the Gold Cup entries!!!

Although i think the handicappers seem to have gone mad in the last few years with some ratings

I did hear something along the lines of Timeform having him even lower, something in the late 160sPlain

Just checked the BHA site and 174 is correct, Smithy wants him in the Whitbread

handicapper drops him 18lbs on the back of one bad run,
yep that just about sums up the handicappers in the uk these days,
By:

When: 20 Feb 11 00:38
Why evra? What would you rate him?

After running poorly at Kempton in a race which has always brought the best from him, beating 160 rated Sizing Europe and China Rock (158) by about 3 lengths in Ireland and last years Gold Cup run you would have to say he deserved a decent drop in the weights. This was the handicappers first chance to adjust him since the GC and maybe on what the horse has done since his last KG win the drop was fair.

I intend to take nothing from Kauto and I would love to see him win or at least run with credit and finish the GC ths year.

Oh and the last time I looked dropping from 190 to 174 meant a drop of 16lbs not 18.
By:

When: 23 Feb 11 12:30
GMOOH has been dropped 2lbs to 148.

Get me out of here i believe is a very good horse, last year he was outstanding. This year it has not gone according to plan also trainer out of form.
My theory since is that trainer/owner are after good handicap mark mark for Cheltenham. If i had back the horse at Newbury i would not be happy.
I will definitely keeping him on my side especially if ground half decent.
Owner wouldn't have had him in champion hurdle anyway with Binocular there so county hurdle probable race for him . Very Interesting and betting exchanges to be watched.

* A Novice that hasn't progressed (surprise surprise)
* Likes good ground
* Has had a back problem
* Aintree may be the target

Take your pick....

people making guesses on this horse. He simply is out of form.
By:

When: 25 Feb 11 11:51
For a horse that has regressed, out of form, has problems it is interesting tha connections still feel like entering him in Champion hurdle, Coral Cup and County.  As previously stated cant see anything but the County where (given current entries) would run of 10st 10lb.
By:
sintonian
When: 25 Feb 11 18:31
Is it really that interesting ? Horses are given entries all the time, they have to go something with them particualrly ones with such high ratings.
By:
Swardean
When: 25 Feb 11 21:31
I agree they have to go somewhere, but if as has been suggested the horse has problems it should/would not be running.  Just for the record, I will not be backing it but I wouldnt be laying either.

If a horse has problems do you run it 3 times culminating in the demanding Toat Gold Trophy. I think not.

Any news on this fella? 14/1 NRNB with 365 for both the County and the Coral Cup. Cant see how he'd get the trip in the Coral Cup myself but had a decent go on him for the County.

Will surely be near enough fav if he goes for it.
By:
Goretski
When: 02 Mar 11 15:05
I think the trip in the coral might suit this horse CCM but it's a bit of a leap of faith backing this horse for any race at the minute.
By:

When: 02 Mar 11 15:33
Plenty of stamina in the pedigree but he'd need to be in top form to win a handicap at the Festival off 148 IMO.

When: 02 Mar 11 15:33
Do you think Goretski? Cant see it myself. And seeing how they chose Supreme over Neptune last year and have kept him at 2 miles, I would be surprised. Although seems to make sense to back him for both if I fancy him, now its NRNB.

I dont think it a huge leap of faith. Poor seasonal bow, but happy to let him off that. Good run in the Greatwood imo off virtually top weight and was going well until clattering 3 out, then nursed in. And given a very sensitive ride last time.

Think he could get a very nice mark and has proved he can go well on the track and at the meeting

Oh i agree CCM, the three runs this year and the subsequent comments, have been, lets say...'intersting'!
By:

When: 02 Mar 11 15:51
Maybe so ff... but I think it would be a big risk to put him up 5f for the first time at Cheltenham when he has never run over that distance before and this week has presumably been the aim all season. Dont you? Either try him once before or save the step up for next season imo.
By:

When: 02 Mar 11 15:52
If you have been backing this horse like i have you have to carry on until they take the hand brake off and you get your money back with a lot of interest.

lol. You lot should just admit you made assumptions about what ''they'' were doing. The horse is been ailed by something or is simply out of form.

Is Bellvano the plot in the County Hurdle with GMOOH in the same race? Maybe sintonian will have his 1 pt ten quid on it?
