Really he probs has 1 fight left anyway. Not much out there for him is there. Either fight Fury or some other British heavyweight, or fight Usyk, otherwise no money/what's the point. He will lose any of these fights and probably call it a day imo.

Well Pianeta is a step up on Seferi ( yes, anyone would be). Then maybe David Price.

Because Hearn won't give Fury like £1m just to fight a bum.

Yer but he's got to fight at least someone fringe level surely before going in with AJ.

Ideally he wants to fight Fury on PPV for a huge payday, but he realises it will be 2 years or more away. So Bellew has realised the biggest fight out there for him bar fighting a true active heavyweight like AJ/Wilder/Whyte etc would be to fight Usyk at CW for everything. I think win or lose that will be Bellew's final fight

Bellew can make more much money fighting another washed up 'known' fighter than go in with a genuine pound for pound elite opponent. He's admitted so himself.

No way he fights him he's having to reply because he's been called out

Yer but I'm far from convinced even that can be made because of the politics. It's more likely than Fury vs AJ politics wise, but even then the politics is a huge obstacle stopping it being made.

Yes but who is there apart from Fury? And Fury won't take it for at least 12 months, maybe longer. Fury realises he's shot so he's trying to train himself back into some sort of regular condition

Surprised there wasn't any "beef" between Bellew and Haye tonight on punditry duty. Could have nicely setup Bellew v Haye 3 for November!

on PPV of course Wink

It's not like Bellew vs a mug will be PPV, he's got to face someone at least credible for it to be a PPV fight. He must still make several millions to fight Usyk assuming they'd work out like a 50:50 split (which I assume will be the angle they go for).
By:
wisewords
When: 29 Jul 18 00:17
Yes 50/50 split and it'll be on SBO PPV and they'll throw the full hype machine at it

They managed to make a Parker v Whyte Saturday Fight Night main event a PPV tonight. they don't care, they just want to rip off the fans to milk them

The timing is a bit awkward as he'd want it Goodison ideally, but that's not available for like another 10 months, which is probably too long to sit around doing nothing to wait for.
By:
wisewords
When: 29 Jul 18 00:19
Nah, he's done Goodison Park and that moment will live with him forever. I think he'd happily settle for the O2 for the Usyk fight. Could be wrong though. He's motivated by the £ now
By:
n88uk
When: 29 Jul 18 00:20
Yer it will have to be O2 or Manchester Arena, only 2 arenas big enough for a fight like that. I would think Manchester might be more likely as it's closer to home for Bellew.

@wisewords, are u trying to say that wasn't worth top billing, ure a **** if u dont think it was imo

Yes I'm saying that fights of that ilk could easily be on Sky Sports instead of PPV. Just because Sky/Matchroom love PPV, doesn't mean everything has to be PPV
By:

It's a pretty crappy PPV headliner even if the card worked out pretty enjoyable. Ultimately it's a PPV headlined by 2 fringe world level guys for no belt, with an undercard full of nothing fights.
By:

When: 29 Jul 18 00:23
And it's certainly shows you much Eddie has changed now in terms of milking everything for PPV. 5 years ago a fight like this would never be ppv.
By:

When: 29 Jul 18 00:23
It's not just Eddie though is it, it's Sky. They want a certain amount of PPV shows per year now

Froch vs Bute was on regular Saturday night fight night ffs and when was that?
By:
Geesyerdosh
When: 29 Jul 18 00:23
Can't see it myself. Eddie has the casuals by the short and curlies they'll buy anything PPV now. Bellew said he prefer's fighting heavyweight's because their feet are so slow and stupid in the ring. I'm sure they can find someone Laugh
By:

This fight was made on 7 weeks notice or whatever because they needed to fill the PPV slot

2012 for Froch vs Bute.

Yer it does fill like Eddie just fills a quota now of a set number of ppv dates and just has to find fights to make those dates. AJ will always be 2 a year, but he still has to fill like 2-3 others a year.
By:

From now on, I imagine all Dillian Whyte fights will be PPV

At the moment Eddie's UK PPV king if obv AJ, and then he's got Bellew and Whyte for backup
By:

When: 29 Jul 18 00:26
Er depends, if it's Parker sort of level opp then yes and it probs will be so you're probs right. If it's a knockover job to wait for a world title shot then it won't be. He will probs lose soon anyway (when he challenges for a world title).

Interesting one, if we've got Whyte v Chisora 2 in November, will it be PPV?
By:

When: 29 Jul 18 00:27
Yes.
By:
n88uk
When: 29 Jul 18 00:28
It's gonna depend if Whyte gets made mandatory. If he's made mandatory he's unlikely to fight anyone of substance if he's guaranteed a world title shot next year, if he isn't then he will fight someone of substance.
By:

Eddie's effectively got everything mapped out until April next year regardless of whether Wilder agrees to fight or not. Eddie Hearn's got the game by the balls right now
By:

When: 29 Jul 18 00:28
Yes Froch v Bute was a bigger fight.

I agree the way it works now is instead of 'Big Fight = PPV' Eddie and Sky have got the public thinking 'PPV so it must be a big fight'
By:
wisewords
When: 29 Jul 18 00:29
Yes that's the crux of it tobes. They know the public have an appetite for PPV now so they feed them
