Fresh Kiss hoses in @ le Touquet - I am giving up this tipster lark
![]() Sadly had only £2 win/place but it returned 19.0 (sorry) The Aga Khan's and Wertheimer & Frere's had acceptable collateral form and I think Fresh Kiss can go forward from Le Touquet to better things. |

ps I won't jinx In Time with my ill gottens
|
|
By:
Oh well done Mr M.. I missed it, just seen the replay.. desperate stuff, very low grade class 3, but this is what I like about French racing, Zaraks can win races like these around tracks nobody has ever heard of.. lol..
In Time surely running only for a place today, at best.. I do wonder why they couldn't have found an easier race, really in at the deep end, but I'm hoping.. |
|
By:
In Time ran quite well there, I was pleased with that, every chance.. finished upsides Rosacea and just behind Agave, that's pretty good form..
I think she needs further.. |
|
By:
3 in a row for Island Bandit, nice bit of placing by Heather Main. I was worried about the jockey booking, as Doyle and Mitchell had other rides, and they won on it previously, but I had a £1 e.w. at 20-1, which is good going for somebody who rarely bets..
I expect the h'capper will get the better of him now.. |

Dzarina - not wanting to be accused as an after timer ! Min stakes for me - Depart immenent

9.0 the win and 2.5 the place on bf.
French stats for Zarak going nuts: Win + Place Prize money per run €7,700 Wootton Bassett for comparison €4,100 with a coering fee at £150,000 who are they kidding. 6 upcoming Zarak engagements Friday to Sunday - they can't all win. Or can they ? ![]() |
|
By:
..aftertiming, but I also had £1 e.w. at 17/2 on 365..
well done Mr M... a modest h'cap but there was always a win in this one.. Parnac at Saratoga on Sat.. and Lead On McDuff at Bro Park Sweden. Also looking to a 2yo Laguna Beach at Deauville, very hopeful of that.. and Rashford - unraced.. La Parisienne for the Vermeille.. |
|
By:
..those are good stats by the way... I'm glad you keep a check on these things, bit beyond me..
|
|
By:
Laguna Beach just caught close home there, bit unlucky. There appeared to have been a gamble on it.. I thought Demuro went a bit quick early on, and she was legless at the end. Still, a good run, maybe next time..
I note the dreaded 'sortie provisoire' against 3yo filly In Time. She may have been bought out of her stable. |
|
By:
Titanium min stakes win only. Opposing with Balboa. No after timing here (I hope)
|
|
By:
BAH - Titanium returned 2.80 3 places. Ran well.

Nearly missed the race doing my Sherlock Holmes
![]() I am sure In Time had future engagements. So, I think you may be correct she has been sold. But not sold or catalogued through to 31st December. The owner (Jan Romel) has tinkered with homebreds and bred a Gp3 placed filly Miss Carmie which he sold on the same year, 2012. He has multiple links with In Times recorded breeders J.B.S. INVEST N.V. - so maybe they have just retired her to the paddocks. Pity as I suspect she was capable of black type in the right race. If I find an email address for any new owners, I will suggest they gift you the first foal if it is small .Otherwise, min stakes for me Black Gaia and ... FINALLY while stumbling about looking for In Time I noticed ZARAK THE BRAVE is catalogued for an Arqana December Sale having been bought by Highflyer for 200,000 at Arqana in May. Highflyer said he was to stay in France. Catalogued as being sold by Succ. of Magalen Bryant the prev owner (who had plenty jumpers) so not sure what has happened. Mullins has a Zarak and Henn Knight got one too so we will see who feels left out. |
|
By:
Titanium had every chance, rode a nice race on it..
Thanks for all that info Mr M, I would never have found any of that out. I thought Zarak the Brave went to Mullins,.. oh well, see what happens in the sales, I'm surprised by that move. I'd love an In Time foal providing somebody else pays ... I hope she runs again, I feel sure she could have got some black type.. |
|
By:
Zarak has a nice 2yo in RASHFORD which won probably a very modest maiden at Dieppe today, over 1800m by 6.5 lengths. Ridden by Gregory Benoist one of my favourite French jockeys.
The Fabre favourite unplaced. Rashford looks a stayer in the making, dam by Sinndar... one for me to follow, can't wait to see him again.. |
|
By:
'appy 'arry - tough race and up in distance after his "whoosh" last time out. A leap of faith ?
KEEP THE FAITH reinvest despite the NR making it 2 places for an EW ![]() Flatten the Curve - need to hope they have been hiding this ones light under a bush out in the sticks. Step up in class but had alternate engagements at Divonne !! Zarak Star - sticking by this one as well as The Cruel Sea is one of my Favourite Films. Not disgraced last time out. |
|
By:
How can you be 6th beaten half a length? Was Jamie Spencer a late jockey change?
Actually caught napping 700m out when the speed picked up. Way too far back in last or could easily have won. But that's French racing ![]() |
|
By:
yeah, not so good from Tony Piccone today, left it way too late, really should have got going earlier, finished full of running.. he seemed a bit overconfident.. 6 in a line, reminded me of that Wolverhampton race with 8 involved..
Zarak Star disappointed. Flatten The Curve another a bit too late on the scene. Nice run from Parnac at Saratoga at the weekend.. too much to do once again... and Rashford gets an entry in the gr. 3 Prix de Conde at Chantilly in Sept.. aiming a bit high maybe. Island Bandit tomoz at Windsor, for the 4 timer.. Sexton taking 5lbs off, I think that puts him just 1lb above his official rating.. Purplepay has been taken out of the Prix du Moulin.. don't tell me they're going to Leopardstown..jeez.. |
|
By:
..Jesus wept.. why do they put Gerald Mosse up... that was La Parisienne's race, boxed in nowhere to go... I'm foaming at the mouth..
|
|
By:
Ok, I've watched the replay several times, perhaps harsh on Mosse, there wasn't a lot he could do stuck on the inside.. perhaps she could have been ridden more positively in a slowly run race.. the first 2 were there all the way..
She was always going to stay, dam was a hurdler.. Yann Lerner confirms she will go to the Arc, and thinks she would have won today with a clear run. Can't argue with that. It seems she wasn't quite 100 percent fit either.. At least she finished ahead of Tuesday... she's the best 3yo filly in Europe over 12f.. albeit, it's not a vintage year for them.. even so, I'm looking forward to the Arc and with the cut away in the straight, hopefully no excuses.. soft going no problems.. |
|
By:
La Parisienne disappointed in the l'Opera, going well until entering the straight.. I'm trying to find out what went wrong but she may have swallowed her tongue again, despite having a tongue strap.. she's done this before at Longchamp in Spring.. she's beaten most of those fillies and she went out like a light far too quickly to be true running..
Nice win today for Village Voice, at Thurles in a 2yo maiden over a mile for Jessica Harrington. One to note, got up close up, best work at the finish.. Promising French 2yo colt Rashford has an entry in the gr. 1 Criterium de Saint-Cloud over 10F.. Another interesting 2yo called Arcandi, trained in Germany by Peter Schiergen, winner of its only race, is one of the favourites for the main German 2yo colts racing coming up soon over a mile.. Preis der Winterfavoriten.. 9th October.. |
|
By:
A treble today for Zarak... after Village Voice, we had Titanium and Fresh Kiss at St. Cloud.
Zarak's will soon be selling for 2 million at Tatts.. |
|
By:
Arcandi disappointed at Cologne yesterday, I did not like the ride given by Murzabyev, what was he thinking of..?
Made up today with Colombiana in a claimer at Marseille, nice 20-1 result, and well ridden by the ultra dishy Valentin Seguy, who also seems rather a fun young man who doesn't take himself too seriously... headed got back up close home... not very good considering her breeding by Zarak out of a Galileo mare, one would have hoped for better on that front.. I have Princess Glitters and Belarga tonight at Amiens, both with chances.. |
|
By:
...and both gone in at 7/2 and 5/2.. very nice indeed... who needs British racing, or Frankels', when we have Zaraks.. they're made for France.
6 wins in the last 4 days.. |
|
By:
Hope you kept the faith with TIMES SQUARE. Kept to Listed and a shrewd ride @ 10/1 from Max Guyon (due me one!).
Listed 3rd and a win today together with a 2nd and 3rd in GpI's from 9 starts = PADDOCKS for me. Going out on a high. Titanium cosy earlier @ 6/1 nailing the strike rate en France in excess of 20% wins to runs. (21% on the cards) Sadly my 49p @ 100/1 on Zaracampa went west. Still to come. Not sure Flatten the Curve will finish in front of Dounia (Adlerflug) even though Mlle Marie Velon scooted in on the top rated Iresine (9/4) in the earlier GpI. |
|
By:
Mr M.. should have been 3 wins today.. Mlle Velon didn't give Flatten The Curve the best of rides there, way too far back.. unlucky. She rides Colombiana tomorrow, I'm not confident..
Delighted Times Square came back to form, I had written her off earlier.. great ride by Guyon but she thrives in heavy going and it was 4.8 today.. Zarak had a good Arqana sales, some nice ones, a few that will be coming over here. Village Voice ran well at Leopardstown for Mrs Harrington, unlucky getting bumped all over the place.. One to note for next year I think.. |
|
By:
Queen Of Beaufay, whom I have raved about on this thread earlier, makes a first appearance in France in the Prix Solitude at St. Cloud, Friday.. 10f Listed, which is about her limit. Despite wins in the Czech 1000G and Derby, it's no better than French h'cap form, and she will be pushed to figure in what looks a competitive race, almost gr. 3 standard..
Hasn't run since June but I've been looking forward to seeing her again.. perhaps they are hoping she will find a buyer.. I have chances with Belarga in the 3000m h'cap.. or Iznik at Bordeaux for JC Rouget.. |
|
By:
As feared, all too much for Queen Of Beaufay at St. Cloud today. I've no idea why they brought her over, kind of spoilt her reputation back home.
The other two had their chances. My best bets this week will be Zagrey on Sunday at Chantilly in the Grand Prix du Nord.. 2nd to My Prospero in a gr. 2 in the summer, really should win this.. ..and Fresh Kiss, out for a 4 timer in a h'cap at St. Cloud Monday, over 2500m.. not run that far before, so fingers crossed.. I see Godolphin have jumped on the Zarak bandwagon, with newcomer Marquisat down to run on Monday in the Prix Antivari at St. Cloud. 1500m, likely too short, being out of a Duke of Marmalade mare. Trained by Fabre, Barzalona rides. Interesting. Tomorrow, Saturday, at Newmarket I have Zanagor for Julie Fielden in the fillies 2yo maiden.. can't see her making an impression in this, a race that used to be called the Balaton Lodge maiden fillies stakes 7f div 1. and I wish it was still called that.. Balaton Lodge is a beautiful place in Newmarket... now the British Stallion Studs EBF whatever.. at least it's not named after a bookie.. |
|
By:
Parnac finally got the ride she needed from J Castellano at Belmont at the Big A tonight.. coming from last to first to get up in dying strides... nice 3/1 winner..
Sold out of Germany last winter, she'd been disappointing until today in what was an allowance race worth some $100,000... Receiving weight, but I think she needs an extra furlong or two.. |
|
By:
No sweat for Zagrey at Chantilly... I've had 2 nice wins today.. the other being German 2yo maiden Sirjan who won a gr. 3 in Rome over 9f, and very easily indeed by the looks of it.. not that Italian racing is any great shakes these days.
Surely Andreas Wohler's main hope for the German Derby next year, out of a Tiger Hill mare. I like that breeding, especially on soft.. I wish I could have got a bet on. I have 3 tomorrow Monday at St. Cloud and I'm doing all of them... Fresh Kiss... Marquisat.. and Vintage Queen.. all with chances.. |
|
By:
2 out of 3... nice going..
Fresh Kiss bit unlucky, not quite get there.. I had to finish first 4 so that's ok.. Great ride by Guyon on Vintage Queen [11/2], and a promising 2yo in Marquisat [13/8], obviously needs a lot further, going away at the end... time 1 sec slower than the fillies race before, but he's a stayer in the making surely.. I left Island Bandit alone at Kempton, I'll wait until Gina Mangan is aboard. |
|
By:
This lady is not a jumps fan but I was relieved when Zarak The Brave romped home at Fairyhouse today, being forced to watch for sentimental reasons. Much mentioned on this thread earlier, he was a favourite in the Spring for me, in France.
Be interesting to see where he goes next. |
|
By:
Zarak's fee has more than doubled. Bit greedy, he's up and coming but his best have been unlucky in some races so he lacks group winners..
|
|
By:
I'm very pleased Colonia Victoria got home at Angers today.. 10f 2yo maiden.. held on gamely, giving the 2nd some 9lbs.. German trained, I'd like to think she has a future..
.. and what a foul up by both Corals and Wm Hills.. I checked Bet365 and she was 5/2 but on the other two she was 25/1.. lol !.. ... very nice indeed, thank you.. |
|
By:
Straight - [Zarak - Seductive / War Command] won a modest 1800m maiden at Baden Baden a few moments ago.. 4-1 drifted from 7-2.. won quite well for Andreas Wohler.. should go on to better things.. the dam was a maiden for Haggas but won a small race in U.S.
I shall be following Straight .. but he has a long way to go to match the leading German 2yo Quantanamera, an exceptional filly by German standards.. [rated 95kg OR 110].. Best of luck to Zarak The Brave at Fairyhouse tomorrow.. grade 3 hurdle.. Townend up.. |
|
By:
Needs to improve his jumping a bit.. flat footed will not do..
|
|
By:
I have Yes Zara running for me in the Prix du Grand Chesnay at Deauville today.. 9/1 currently.. the dam won a couple of small races.. I expect place prospects at least..
La Parisienne won this race impressively last year.. Rather a lot to expect a Zarak double.. |
|
By:
Ran wide, no chance. I think it'll win next time..
|
|
By:
Another nice 2yo for Zarak today in a modest 1900m maiden at Chantilly..
Highwind.. a future winner for sure, should have won today but got blocked more than once.. trained by C Ferland who I like very much.. can't wait to see this one again.. 9/1 ew at 365.. not bad.. Highwind - Zarak - Forecaster [Fastnet Rock].. dam multiple winner at minor tracks.. |
