Fame Game 3.5 in my market Henry, barring bad luck and a wet track it won't surprise if he wins with a leg in the air.
He's by far and away the best international horse to ever contest the cup. Could easily have him shorter than that but was deliberately trying to be conservative, Almoonqith and Our Ivanhowe have a sense of timing about their prep and respect Criterion's class but he has to break every rule in the book to win, horses that win Black Opal's as a 2yo and run sixth in the Golden Slipper don;t win Melbourne Cups, ran 4th in The VRC derby as a spring 3yo and then won the AJC Derby again against his own age as a 3yo and hasn't been over 2400m or further since, has to be very big distance query and is poorly weighted given the distance query. Although the same queries were posed about saintly this horse isn't in the same breath as Saintly yet and also saintly raced against a far inferior quality field back then as the type of quality stayer contesting this event. Max Dynamite impressive last start but on a slow 7 (probably heavy 9 or 10 here) and a disappointing second the start before on a dry track although was coming off a break that day runs up to his last run and he's a definite place chance. Bondi Beach doesn't go past horses either, judging by his replays he looms up and then won't go past them so can't win for mine. The United States is impossible, Moreira is a freak but he can't carry them, same goes for snow sky he's impossible plenty of deadwood in this cup with virtually no winning hope. Preferment if you put the cox out of your mind which you have to based upon the way the track played is the logical second pick and respect red cadeaux because he's done it year in year out and dunlop knows what he's on about. Fame game wins, good chances to preferment, Our Ivanhowe, almoonqith and Trip To Paris, Criterion a silly chance think Hokko Brave can run a race as well was ok at caulfield and will improve red cadeaux the best roughie and Barman a silly chance again likes flemington adn Caulfield effort was ok. |

I got 'em ... 6/1 the field ... in this order on a toss up over the rarely raced 3200m event .. (sorry to jinx you Very )$7.00 15, 10, 3 (preferment, trip to paris, fame game) ... and putting in #9 Red Cadeaux for some cup prizemoney again too (do they still pay out to 10th or something) what a freak Red Cad ... hope he brings it again for one more cup race ... would be a great lifetime achievement if finishes in the first 4 The Melbourne Cup ... its a raffle, a lottery & a novelty race - but I love it ![]() |

Race 1 inconclusive .. the hard rail pozzie certainly didn't appear to have any 5 len advantage
and from the overhead there is a metre of lush green behind (inside of) the rail itself so is the rail at exactly the same position ... as Saturday .. did anyone hear ? |
|
By:
in the 2m position

Ill tell you what this track had better play relatively fair today otherwise this bloke should be lined up and shot!!!
Fancy aerating the centre of the track during cup week and trying to even up the rail prior to derby day total ****g moron, we were back to the old massive rail bias bias on derby day ala efficient's derby win, the bloke fixed the track and then and this bloke goodie is a complete and utter ****g clown. Gately and co aren't much better after that interview they said expect them to be getting off the fence during the day that was never going to happen after he artificially doctored the centre of the track. |

21.00 SP a good start to the day. The rest run for free. Luckily too, haven't gone close since. Four Carat very unlucky as didn't get a look in and was dragged back by a group of 4 in front of it. Hard to make a case he wins, but might as well have not even gone around.
