Dissident- I have been meaning to comment that  while he was in parade ring (on TV) I only had a quick look at him ...and thought he looked average....did I just see the wrong angle perhaps..??

Horse looks a picture ....I can only add that TV coverage of EACH horse is hit and miss Cry

I hardly saw a horse in the M Yard on Saturday......stayed at the tunnel entrance of the pre-parade ring. Even then there's

often a couple of late-comers walking "the wrong way" toward the entrance that I only get a quick look at Devil

I actually thought they all looked average actually with exception to Fawkner and PDL....who both looked average + (neither looked wow)PDL did not look as tight as he did when paraded for Memsie Stakes..

Unsurprisingly, Fawkner's dappled up and looking well but like most greys of that type, I struggle for a clear "assessment"

you can add Chataqua to that list Sad Although I did see him win his maiden? at Geelong and he was obviously very big

that day...I think Laugh

As previously noted, PDL much better to me this prep including Saturday. Happy to bet against him only because Dissident

looked so well.

Cheers

TINS

Thank you---

Have you tried binoculars watching them pass the winning post etc.....on way to start ...always my preferred method when on track.....(which is seldom these days because i m lazy i guess)..but I have chalked up tens of thousands of hours doing just that over the decades.....

So much horse anatomy to talk about ...one day I hope Love

1. Relaxed- arched neck forward

2. Strength of hind ligaments ...angle of pastern and fetlock

3. Width of spread of hind legs while in motion  for the sprinters

4. Size of girth

etc etc

Be too much info for my widdwe bwain, Henry.

I do agree horses often "tighten up" once they head out onto the track but the pre-parade gives me enough to form an

opinion. M Yard would only change my opinion if a horse "fell to pieces", got really hot, etc.

I'll leave the finer specifics of The Art to Jim Mischief

No, Joel. Couldn't get near him

All us plebs were herded into exclusion zones and strip-searched.

There's a terror-threat protocol in place at the races now Cry

Coupla handsome types in at Muddington Devil tomorrow.

Both in the 3rd, Coram looks the part, not sure what happened at The Valley...maybe he just got burnt off. Mischief

The other one, Hammered, might be a prep away but I'd be surprised if he's no good. Well beaten but not awful on debut when

completely unwanted in the betting.

just sayin Silly
