will be interesting to see if Morrison can get his TPV stuff through today - I hope not

Hockey has crashed the economy - GDP growth .3% for the quarter 2.7% for the year he has been in charge CryCryCry

Well TPV's are back and the minister has more control than he should over boats Sad

In saying that if the only two options were TPV's or having people locked in detention and thousands in the community with no work rights I guess it's they are the lesser of two evils. There are much better options though

Ricky Muir put it well last night I think (from the SMH)

"The crossbench shouldn't have been put in this position, but we have," Mr Muir said.

"I am forced into a corner to decide between a bad decision and a worse decision, a position I do not wish on my worst enemies."

WORST GOVERNMENT EVER but no worse than Labor on this issue CryCryCry

The only reason all these people are here is because the previous Labor Government all but opened the borders and let them in. Send them all back.....its a non issue.
By:
AFL
When: 05 Dec 14 04:54
The only reason people like you are here is because people like them were previously allowed into the country however they traveled

here. Perhaps the Aboriginal people who owned this land should not have allowed the boats to land just like we are doing now and

people like you would now possibly be living in the hell hole you deserve somewhere surrounded by people just like you, who don't

give a s hit about others.
By:
AFL
When: 05 Dec 14 05:39
Nahh why don't we keep them locked up for a few years in disgusting conditions and a kind of torturous limbo where they remain

stateless the bloody mongrels....... in another country so that if anything goes wrong and one of them dies or something we can wash

our hands of it.

HOW F UKIN DARE THEY FLEE ANOTHER COUNTRY BECAUSE THEY ARE PERSECUTED AND TRY AND BRING THEIR PROBLEMS HERE.

JUST **** IN SHOOT THEM AND PUT THEM OUT OF OUR MISERY.
By:
AFL
When: 05 Dec 14 05:47
OHHHH   LOL   i forgot .....................that's we do do . Well except for the shooting bit......but we send them back to their

persecutors apparently ........i bet some of them wish  we did shoot them.

Persecution?? Economic refugees.
By:
AFL
When: 05 Dec 14 06:02
Over 70% of them are proven by our own tough standards to be genuine so don't bring in the economic B/S and they are not illegal if

you are going to try that one on too. They have a legal right to seek asylum.
By:
AFL
When: 05 Dec 14 06:06
Fancy trying to deny they are fleeing persecution.....from your computer in fukin melbourne or wherever you are like youd fukin know

everyones circumstance....
By:
AFL
When: 05 Dec 14 06:10
They are mostly coming from war torn countries where we have fought and people are killed and persecuted because they might be the

wrong religion or what ever but you sit back and say know they are greedy economic refugees.

The Labor right are almost as bad as the Libs on this so i guess you probably shouldn't feel out of sync with the majority.

My apologies for the spray smartitude but this subject does get me going. Especially as whilst i was replying to you i had the

vision of Morrison on the tv smirking like he had some sort of moral win today.

When all it is really is a stinking politician  basking  in the suffering of defenceless people.

No offence meant directly as i said you are probably in the majority.

Rumours of leadership challenge in corridors of Canberra are rampant.....Fairly obvious to all loyalist blue ribbon liberals Abbott could not possibly win the next Federal election..........hot fav. Being cold faced Julie Bishop.
By:

When: 05 Dec 14 09:44
But AFL, why do most of them travel through at least 3 or 4 countries to escape persecution?
By:
smartitude
When: 05 Dec 14 10:01
The "gay" men who are persecuted for being gay. They are allowed in and when settled send for their wives and families. WTF????
By:
AFL
When: 05 Dec 14 11:08
We are one of the few countries in our area that have signed the treaty. They have to come here to apply for settlement because we

signed the treaty.  You keep saying they do this and they do that.....you refuse to treat them as individuals why do you do that?

You are just posting c rap now about the gay stuff.

By:

When: 05 Dec 14 11:10
Are you racist?
By:
smartitude
When: 05 Dec 14 12:50
That's not really the point. I'll say no and you will disagree with me.

I don't like it when a 78 year old man dies, of a heart attack, in an ambulance whilst being driven from one hospital to another.

I hate the fact that as a first world country we have a second world health system, no matter who the government is, we do not spend enough on health.

We have a disgraceful homeless problem, we have no national dental care.........but we have billions for ILLEGAL immigrants.

I call it priorities, you call it racism.
By:
AFL
When: 05 Dec 14 20:23
They are not illegal. CAN'T YOU understand THAT ????   They are called illegal by dishonest politicians because it helps to demonise

them and turn them into ogres,....... Please show a link to any one asylum seeker that has come by boat and been charged and

convicted of illegal entry. If they are illegal each one of them must have been convicted of this offence . It is their

international Legal Right to flee persecution and travel by any means available..... We signed a treaty protecting them and are

doing everything we can not to honour it.

We are spending billions keeping them out of our country. If we allowed them in we would be spending less than that.
By:
AFL
When: 05 Dec 14 21:14
What if every single country in the world adopted your selfish attitude?

Where would these people go? How could the world protect these people from persecution if every country adopted your selfish

attitude???  Surely they must be protected as is their human right ....what if what happened to them in their country happened to us

in our country?????

Where would you flee to and by what means would you get there?
By:
AFL
When: 05 Dec 14 21:29
People like you are so fu king arrogant you think these poor people went down to the local travel agent and picked out Australia and

said ohh  that looks nice....let's go there........... as if they are on some **** ing holidasy.

When the reality is that in most cases their family members have been murdered and or they are somehow the wrong religion and in

danger of being murdered themselves if their town is over run or in danger from the ethnic cleansing taking place in their home

country.  And in a lot of cases we have fought in those countries so we owe them protection for helping create the environment they

are fleeing.
By:
AFL
When: 05 Dec 14 21:35
I swear i would prefer to break bread with any one of these genuine asylum seekers than to even give a person like you the time of

day.
By:

When: 06 Dec 14 00:34
These types of people exist and are housed in refugee camps around the world, and yes Australia and other countries takes these people in.

But you cant be that stupid to think that all these boat people are genuine refugees. They are simply NOT!!!!!

That is my last word on the subject. I appreciate your opinion, but boy is it naive.
By:
AFL
When: 06 Dec 14 01:56
Please deal with facts ...not some racist crap spouted by the shock jocks of the world.

We have a system in place to weed out the non legal or economic refugees. It is one of the toughest screening processes in the

world because we hate their guts and we make it as hard as possible for them to pass the checks. But despite all this over 70% of

them are found to be genuine. Then the poor ones that pass the screening are then tortured the good old Aussie way. We ship them

off so we can wash our hands of them and let them suffer a fate sometimes worse than the fate they are fleeing, so they can then

tell their relatives how hated they are and how badly they are treated.....this we hope deters others from coming here.   That is

the truth of the matter and we are a disgrace that we treat humans like this.

the vast majority are found to be genuine refugees

AFL spot on re the Labor right being just as bad on this issue, one of the main reasons I can't put Labor first anymore

Andrew Probyn had an interesting prediction on Insiders this morning, Kevin Andrews to retire at the next election and Peta Credlin to take his place Shocked Sick of pulling the strings from behind the scenes? Wants more power or they want her out of the PMO because they can't work with her?

Bishop, Morrison and Turnbull all very keen for promotions by sounds of things, Hockey has had a terrible year and been exposed - interesting few months coming up

Good to see changes being proposed on PPL - let's see what they come up with but anything that pays one mother more than another because their job pays more would still be a dud

Galaxy poll at 55-45 to Labor will keep the nervous backbench very worried about their futures - fun times ahead :)

WORST GOVERNMENT EVER

P.S. possibly a very good result for Labor in the SA by-election yesterday, could see them become a majority government if they win it - campaigned hard on sending a message to Canberra
By:

When: 07 Dec 14 00:32
The problem is not with the Labor right and the problem is not with the Coalition, the problem is with the people. The Australian public have decided they want strict and tough border protection and it has proven on more than one occasion to be an election winning issue so any politician with career aspirations (which is all of them) really has no room to move here.
By:

When: 07 Dec 14 00:37
i don't agree Rhino - there is really only one thing missing and that's leadership, a true leader could bring the people with them even on an issue as tough as this one
By:

When: 07 Dec 14 00:43
Sounds good but we just don't do it that way here Womble. Everything is about the negative in Australia. I have never heard a single speech by an Australian poli I would consider inspirational, let alone someone who could move the rednecks on this issue, and we have plenty of rednecks. Does sound good though and would love for you to be able to say I told you so.

i hope i can one day Rhino, i really do - it's a stain on our country imo

not sure why but I get the feeling someone really worthwhile will come out of the woodwork soon inspired by the lack of vision of the current bunch of politicians, a real leader - not sure who or when but i think it will happen - we need it desperately

really getting sick of Abbott going oN about the budget blowing out from the $18 billion deficit Labor originally announced - PEFO had it at $30 billion and then Hockey decided to add $8-$9 billion he gave to the RBA plus a little more so ended up with $40 billion +

so frustrating that he isn't pulled up on it especially as he said he never trusted Labor's figures and wouldn't do it

You don't think they have a right to comment on the inept handling of the economy by the previous Labor Government. Not to mention the fact that they reported the deficit well below what it was. Lies or incompetence you tell me.
