think I might remove myself from this nonsense thread like Thebas and devote time to the RORT that is the bankers picnic
feel free to load up as usual all the loony lefty propaganda you like.....and then you'll posting between AFL,BigT and womble...you can all make yourself feel warm and fuzzy lol
Then in 22 months your 3 votes will help change the world to vote TA out and restore the rort...but then again 2 term Tony looking more certain at every step of the way....
How can you tell when AFL,BigT and womble have landed at the airport? , when they turn the motors off you can still hear the whining!

did the minister for women's affairs have a white ribbon on today Confused

more aussies die from domestic violence than terror attacks..or does anyone careConfused..no votes in it i guess
By:

Domestic violence is not really a political issue. It is a social one.

no worrries, then the minister for womens affairs is excused..sorry minister
By:
therhino
When: 25 Nov 14 11:52
In all seriousness and regardless of who is in power, what do you think they should be doing about domestic violence, apart from wearing ribbons? Not really something they can control and there is plenty of education out there and people know it's illegal and immoral. I really don't see what any politician can do about scumbuckets beating on their wives and kids. What exactly should the minister for womens affairs (whoever that is) be doing about this?
By:
bigted.
When: 25 Nov 14 12:07
there is 100 times more money gone into fighting terrorists than into domestic violence..gotta do something, more shelters, accomodation, councelling, research, etc etc
why can a politician do something for terrorism and not domestic violence..
By:
therhino
When: 25 Nov 14 12:16
I would think it would be a lot more than 100 times as much money, and so it should. One requires all sorts of technological equipment and a global reach, one requires really not much on a political level.

Do we really need more shelters for domestically abused women and children? Is accommodation not the same thing? I think there is plenty of counselling available in Oz and plenty of it is free. Research into what exactly? Really not sure what you're angry at here or what you're really expecting...
By:
bigted.
When: 25 Nov 14 12:25
im not angry..if there are plenty of resources available why is 1 women a week dying from domestic violence..
how many aussies die each week from terrorism..
By:
therhino
When: 25 Nov 14 12:32
A woman is dying because her husband or ex is killing her. Counselling and shelters will not prevent this, they already exist. A lot of women won't seek help because they feel responsible, it is called battered wife syndrome. Political intervention can not stop these things occurring. And if Labor were in power, political intervention would still not stop this occurring.

It is a big bad world out there and not all of it is the fault of the Liberal Party.

White ribbon day may be a complete waste of time ted. Most of these days are merely excuses for people to be employed. They do some good, but no wifebeating pr1ck is not gonna be a wifebeating pr1ck because some strangers wore a ribbon. See below, and that is just the next 2 weeks.

Nov 30 is 'Buy Nothing Day'
Dec 1 is 'World AIDS Day'
Dec 2 is 'International Day for the Abolition of Slavery'
Dec 3 is 'International Day of People with Disability'
Dec 5 is 'International Volunteer Day'
Dec 7 is 'International Civil Aviation Day'
Dec 9 is 'International Anti-Corruption Day'
Dec 10 is 'Human Rights Day'

Asked about his pre-election promise that there would be “no cuts to the ABC”, Abbott said

“I accept what we are doing with the ABC is at odds with what I said immediately prior to the election but things have

moved on, circumstances are different. Going into that election, the then government was telling us the deficit for that

year would be $18bn, it turned out to be $48 billion. I think sensible governments are not only entitled but, indeed,

expected to change when the circumstances change.”

( So he lies again about the budget figures)

but any way  let's see what he said PRE ELECTION about breaking promises

based on saying "ohh we didn't realize the budget was so bad."

............................................................................................

Tony Abbott press conference, Colo Heights, NSW, 13 August 2013

REPORTER: “The condition of the budget will not be an excuse for breaking promises?”

TONY ABBOTT: “Exactly right. We will keep the commitments that we make. All of the commitments that we make will be

commitments that are carefully costed.

..........................................................................................

Interviewed by Jon Faine, ABC Radio 30 August 2013

“I’ve seen the disaster that this government has done for itself by saying one thing and doing another, Jon. I don’t want

to be like that. I really don’t. If we do win the election and we immediately say, oh, we got it all wrong, we've now got

to do all these different things, we will instantly be just as bad as the current government has been and I just refuse

to be like that… Before polling day you’ll know exactly what we’re going to spend, exactly what we’re going to save, and

exactly how much better the budget bottom line will be under the Coalition.”

lies. lies and more lies AFL - it's a disgrace

45 minute press conference was a bit of a waste of time really - didn't add anything new.  Newspoll 54-46 just a matter of time until the Liberal Party moves to plan B (for Bishop) imo

Fun and games in the senate - Labor and the cross-bench trying to force the government to go to open tender for the submarine deal rather than the under the table one done with the Japanese.  Sensible I'd suggest

And the university deregulation vote - hopefully it gets blocked - $100k degrees are not the answer

It's so pathetic Murdoch and the MSM that cheered him into office with no scrutiny are not screaming that he stick by his pre

election promises.

Now that he admits it was a broken promise. They should demand he keep his pre election promises including that he said the budget

position was NOT a reason to break a promise and not de-fund the ABC until the next election and they can be up front with the

people about what their real plans are.

They have no mandate to cut funding to the ABC or SBS or The PENSION....or Education
By:
AFL
When: 01 Dec 14 23:28
That is why they are so f uked.

Because they built their whole case for being elected on a bunch of lies (Budget Emergency LIE) and he knew he could promise

any LIE freely to get elected because Murdoch gave him permission to with no consequences beyond pissing off a few voters but in the

knowledge Murdoch will do anything to see them re elected and will be be cheering him on into a second term.

Murdoch and Liberals are the Biggest bunch of lying decieving a rseholes ever to hood wink the Australian people
