Morning All

Exciting round with plenty of upsets possible imo

Hawks vs Saints - Hawks easily, will be having a cider and watching the Storm vs Bunnies instead (if it's on at the bar)
Tigers vs Lions - Tigers easily
Cats vs Port - good match, you would think Cats by 3 or 4 goals but an upset is possible
Blues vs Bulldogs - I was very impressed by the Bulldogs live last week - if they bring that intensity they'll win this
Swans vs Pies - ripper match, they always go well against us - Go Swannies
Suns vs Dees - you would think the Suns easily but a little risky
Bombers vs Eagles - Eagles with no confidence
Crows vs North - North but once again an upset wouldn't surprise
Dockers vs Giants - Dockers easily

Good luck all

I can't see the Bulldogs beating Carlton, with the Blues knowing everything is on the line. They will be too good and I don't think there is much to be excited about on that Bulldogs list.

Bombers will beat the Eagles. Yes they may have hit the wall but the Eagles are rubbish and will get smashed for leg speed. Bombers will bounce back and win easily.

Would think North are too good for the Crows but they still need to produce on the road. Still think they have too much talent there for Adelaide to quite go with them.

The other game of interest is Brisbane/Richmond. I give Brisbane a genuine chance. They have been consistently good the last two months and Richmond might be a bit comfortable with everything coming into this. Their biggest win of the year last week and everyone is telling them they are millionaires. Expect this to be close.

No surprises in the rest.

Good luck all

Hawks very comfortably in a nothing game.

The improving dogs to upset the blues if the dogs reproduce the same effort and intensity they came with against the swans last week. The blues are soft, selfish and some are way too arrogant, if they turn up thinking they can just beat the dogs they will be sadly mistaken.

The lions to give the tigers a  fright and if the tigers are off their game they can beat them.

Last week I was saying the Eagles were no chance and they need to play a lot better than they did against the suns but the bombers were very average against the pies.

Probably the worst thing that could have happened for the eagles was the bombers getting thrashed but I have no doubt that with the likely return of Le Cras, Priddis and possibly Masten that the eagles will be up for this game.

I can't believe I'm saying this but the Eagles are a big chance of causing the upset here particularly if they can provide Kennedy and Darling with some quality delivery into the forward line, they need to get the ball into Wellingham's hands as much as possible when going forward as he is starting to really run into some touch now and his delivery into the forward line last week was first class. Gaff is starting to cope with a tag much better now and has been much better over the past month.

Pies traditionally have gone well against the Swans at ANZ until the final last year and can't see the swans bringing anything less than their best for this very important game against a resurgent Collingwood, Swans to prove a bit classy in what should be a very good game.

Crows at home are further strengthened by getting Sloane back and in a close one can beat north especially if it's greasy and wet.
Let's see if North are prepared to get down and dirty away from the dome.
They were terrific last week and if they play with the same intensity they will win but I still have question marks over them away from the dome and particularly if the conditions aren't great.

Suns will smash the woeful demons who have nothing to play for.

Dockers to win comfortably against the giants.

Expect the Cats to come out snarling after dropping that game last week and against a gallant Port I expect them to be way too good and it could even end up being nasty for Port as I don't think the cats will be in any mood to take prisoners after last week.

Will almost certainly be on the dogs, suns, lions and eagles and cats in some form of double or trebles combinations but the value for the round is the dogs, eagles and the lions.

Having a few bets this weekend.
I think Saints have the potential to go with Hawks for a while, but ultimately will have a period of half a quarter to a quarter at least where they will be destroyed.  Hawthorn >39.5 @ 1.35 looks well and truly the bet of the game.
3 units on that and 1 on the line Hawks - 53.5.

Richmond vulnerable after a big win over the Hawks.  Brisbane capable of beating Richmond if they aren't 100% so at >5.00, happy to have a unit on Brisbane for the win.

Port capable of a big game and Geelong coming off a bad result.  Think Geelong will turn up this week and win, but 41.5 start for Port looks very juicy.  I am happy to have 2 units on that.

Carlton Bulldogs is a no bet game for me.  Can't convince myself of a decent bet, so happy to sit it out with plenty of other action.

Gold Coast are the real deal, but question whether they can finish a team of big.  As such, Melbourne with 39.5 start looks good. 2 units for me.

Not touching Collingwood/Sydney.  Logic says Collingwood must be a show at >2.75.  Sitting the game out though.

Going against Essendon.  Coming off a flogging, and all this guilt they are carrying for playing must be catching up with them given the heat around at the moment.  Doesn't take much to swing a game, and if their minds aren't on it, WCE can certainly give them a towelling. >3.00?  Yes Please.  3 units.

North are a dangerous team when they are on.  Game not much better than coin flip in generaly, but if they come out swinging, have more potential to win big.  As such, throwing a unit on them at over 39.5.

Fremantle will win.  Their style of play though opens up so many possibilities I am happy both not to bet on the game, but probably won't watch it either, unless I have zero other options.  So will probably watch it, and probably bet on it at some point, but certainly not at the moment.

So my bets will be (about to do some shopping to see what odds I can get, but based on TAB as of now)
Hawks >39.5 @ 1.35 *3
Hawks -53.5 @ 1.90 *1
Brisbane Win @ 5.25 *1
Port +41.5 @ 1.9 *2
Melbourne +39.5 @1.9 *2
WCE Win @3.00 *3
North >39.5 @ 5.25 *1

Good luck everybody.

I should add I will be cheering loudly for the Doggies to beat Carlton to clinch Port's finals spot, but simply can't see them being good enough.

they finally kick one and carlton gets an immediate answer of course. You just know what's going to happen dogs are going to run out of steam late in the 3rd quarter and blues will run over the top of them.
