Once again you have let your faithful down. Regardless of why the site is non operational, you owe it to the clients using your site...and paying your wages......to keep us informed of what the heck is going on.
Monopoly businesses all act the same way...and you have once again proven that when it comes to putting the customer first during times of adversity, you fail miserably.
You have an area on your forums titled service...you could perhaps use a dictionary and find out EXACTLY what that means.
Please in future, go to the trouble to keep your clients informed of how long an outage will last for.
A simple update on the forum would suffice.

Is there any point in asking for compensation, Betfair? You have cost me any amount of money tonight.
Not only could I not lay off my South Sydney bet, but for 4 hours I have not known what the hell my position in the market was, so not only could I be losing money, but I have no opportunity to reduce the damage. |

I can access my UK wallet matched bets. I have had 2 bets matched one at 20:23 and one at 20:50. Someone is up and using but I can't???

I can't imagine it's easy running a global exchange. I bet you struggle using your Foxtel Remote... the downtime tonight is the equivalent of you needing to take a **** during a trade. it happens

And what's more, when they finally settled my account they are out nearly $200. I now have to chase it and there is no record and I can't prove it. The evidence is gone. I have what they think happened but I know it isnt right.

From my point of view the site has been up long enough that they should be able to avoid such long outages, especially ones that are unscheduled. They do have scheduled outages. That's what they're for. To have a 4 hour outage out of the blue and then not communicate any information to their clientele as to the status or when we could have expected it back just smacks of sheer arrogance for mine. |

If it did you can rest assured you won't be seeing any part of it. They got that wrapped up in a nice little bow. You know, of the dozen or so bookmaking accounts I hold I can remember one incident in the last 10 years where a site was out during a game I wanted to bet on. With Betfair I can think of 3 in the past few weeks. |

supremacy, take your propaganda some place else. It isn't unreasonable to expect adequate communication from a company to the people that make it possible for them to make squillions.
I accept that unforeseen things can occur, but to leave us in the dark for over 4 hours while our money drains away just isn't acceptable. If an airline flight is delayed, they customers will be told. In this case it just went down with nothing more than "uh, sorry, we're working on it". Mediocrity is made possible by people like you that are willing to accept it. |

Crazy...Unibet, Tattsbet, Centrebet etc.....They all have site outages and without being a computer geek I'm guessing their sites are way less complex than Betfair.

I used to fly a lot. Happily I don't anymore.
Unibet/Betchoice and Centrebet go down for routine maintenance but I can't remember the last time they went down unexpectedly and were down for that length of time. Like I said, the outage is one thing. It's the implications that scare me. When it really matters can I continue to rely upon them? I used to think yes, now I know the answer is no. |

Remember years ago when someone would call you up on the Landline and cut out the Internet. It's worth noting that apart from the USA homeland security web site, BF is constantly attacked by the European Hackers. In General Betting there's already cases where BF accounts have been hacked and emptied(scary shyte). |
