I was told today, they will no longer accept my trifecta and quinella bets at Globe Derby.

With some time to kill, waiting for the Inter, I went back and tallied up my results for this financial year.  I'm winning a mammoth $848.

My biggest bet would have been $200 into a multi trifecta.

You see these guys on TVN spruking, they bet this and that.

I got the phone call too from Sportsbet who I gather are the same company.  They don't want my business either.

I've had a dozen bets with them this year and every one lost, adding up to over $5k.  And they ban me?!  I had to ask if they were doing it because they were worried I couldn't afford to keep losing money at this rate.

I don't get it but it's their business, they can do what they like.

whats going on here? they are banning you for losing?

Does'nt IAS claim the cater for big asian based punters betting on soccer? Why are the banning guys fwho lose?

IS it the liability aspect?

since they changed hands sportsbet downgraded my credit from 5000 to 500 without any notifacation. happy to let me know i can only bet on city races and sport.
all these so called "betting shops" want is to bleed small time punters to death with small credits (if available) with as many clients as possible.
there will be the big punter(s) weeded through this system only to be big loser(s).

IAS  have apparently weeded out the winners to the point they have
.1% winning customers

thats 1 in a 1000

they went from being clearly the best to prob the worst

what a lot of sh!t botslayer....  .1%, but do a agree that they have turned into a pack of irish/pommie girls that wouldnt know if a bookie stood up in their porridge, its a disgrace that the powers to be have allowed our 5 biggest bookies in this country all to be owed by overseas companies, and enforce the european/english betting style on our country, they turned it into a sterile numbers game, full of spin doctors and advertising geeks and now have just about crushed any local bookie from ever making ground on them

Barney

Both myself and Peter Dammerell, the Adelaide bookie were barred on Friday. Neither of us got a phone call. We only knew when we tried to have a bet via the internet.

Why dont you have a bet today, see if they let you on ?

I was talking yesterday to an Adelaide punter, who is a friend of JB's. Over a six month period, he won 28k betting on both codes. About two months ago, he got a phone call from them with this deal being offered. You can keep betting with us, but we will only pay you 40 cents in the dollar on your winning bets.

Hadn't had a bet with Sentabet for over 18 months. Balance nil or close to it.
Got an email out of the blue saying no fixed prices on the internet for you. Work that one out.

Paddy has clever software that tracks your bets against what is available on the exchange. Even if you are a $5 punter you will eventually get the dreaded "Warning bet not permitted on your account" message if you continually back runners that are shorter on the exchange.

Strange, but if you continually back commodities longer on the exchange he will usually bet you. I wonder why.

We already know that IAS and Sportsbet are Paddy Power owned.

Centrebet and Sportingbet are now linked aswell.

Pretty incestuous industry at the best of times, but now with all these linked bookies you won't be able to get away with anything.

funnly enough today heard sportsbet advertising on a radio station where the age of the audience would mostly be aged. trying to fleece the oldies now. true scumbags.

then on a sports station spouting off their protest payout. no mention what they pay up to. scumbags again.

It seems these bookies only care about Racing codes. I have punted successfully on football codes with several bookies for years and the only one to ever give me grief was Betstar (Betchoice knocked back my bets several times on NFL so I just went elsewhere and got set anyway).
I don't get it but am not complaining. I guess most mug money (and astute money?) is on racing codes. Or maybe Football betting is less difficult to control and balance.
I really don't know.
Corps are basically scum. That is the only thing anyone knows for sure.

yeah crazy, same gig with me, dont bet on horses, dogs, trots with them, only sport and treated the same as u have said. Sports betting and its management is a different beast, the traders at these corps still have a opinion and will risk most clients up to a certain amount (except Senterbet, nothing on everything) the only ones that get completely banned on sports are the belligrent, difficult pig clients.

also Castiron, i find it hard to beleive that a bookie offered your mate 40cents in the winning dollar, pretty sure  he speaks with a fork tongue, but if u reckon its a fact ....then name the bookie here, and we will get him "named and shamed" in the public arena.

Vic TAB takes monster bets by phone but will not take anything above 10k risk online. I have rung up and gotten higher exposures with an operator but the online operation is 10k risk limit (I think). If I want bigger bets I usually go to the outlet and bet the old fashioned way. I break the tickets up into smaller bets so I can collect them separately and avoid unwanted attention. They have a form you have to fill out for collects over 10k I think. That limit may have changed.
Try getting that risk online with anyone else. I have had trouble getting 1k with some I have already mentioned. Centrebet takes bigger bets, although this season already I have had several bet referrals for bets under 2k risk. Surprising! I wonder if it's me or everyone.
Anyway, point is, it's very difficult to maintain profitability and go unnoticed. I guess I can understand it. I would be the same way I suppose, although the way bookies operate their online businesses these days they deserve to lose money. They do such stupid, uninformed crap at times.
I remember when you could bet at the track for thousands and they were only too eager to take the risk. The landscape has changed and I no longer like the view. I hope Pinnacle survives, but as for the others, I could care less if they live or die.

The corp was IAS.

I had heard the story a month ago, and spoke personally with the guy on Sunday, at the Globe Derby trials.

Fellow forum member Punching Watsons, was also present.

Athough this punter is in the retail car business, I have no reason to doubt the veracity of his claim.

He is also a close friend of Jimmy Jacques, and Jimmy was the person who first told me of the action taken by IAS.

I know a bloke betting with one of these mobs.
beeting on Vic harness and trading on Golf. or more precisley Arbing on golf.
lay with Betfair and back at better oddds with corprate.

they barred him from the golf anf effectively barred him from harness.

he was also arbing on the Melb Cup 6 months from the event, They barred him from that as well.

WHAT CONCEIVABLE advantage could he have had on the Cup 6 months out.

when ias started offering fixed price on the place i noticed there was great opportunities to trade. i did this successfully for 10 days. some prices where 1.0 more on ias than betfair. remember 1 race the horse initially was quoted 16 with ias and 13 i think with betfair. it firmed on betfair and drifted to 26 on ias. kept on betting on it. the horse ran third. the next day i was barred from fixed odds on racing. however i can still bet on sports and tote prices with ias. now i rarely bet with ias. centre bet i have a 10 to 30 second delay before my bets are accepted  on the greyhounds. sometimes they are rejected. however i can bet on gallops fixed odds without delay.

Betchoice now sold to Unibet. Article appearing today - UK gaming company, UNibetGroup plc, has agreed to pay 13.6 million GBP ($AUD20million) in cash to buy the business of Sydney based corporate bookmaker, Betchoice.
A further 1.63millionGBP ($AUD2.4million) may also be paid if Betchoice’s 2014 profits exceed AUD 4.4million.
