Hi,
well I wish I hadn't had an extra couple of bets yesterday as they soaked up my excellent profit from my Football bet on the Lincoln and Accrington Draw at 9/4. I backed ARSENAL to win v Sunderland (0-0) and also had DESERT CRY - 2nd to a 20/1 shot in the 3.40 at KELSO. Drat!
Today I have awoken a sleeping giant! I mentioned recently that I once had 100 consecutive winning bets. How did I do it? Well I used a STOP AT A WINNER system. This is basically 'Hedging your bets' and the problem with it is that you generally have to spend about ten times the amount you want to win. Nevertheless if you are careful in the selection of the bet re 'probability' etc then you usually win.
Today I have backed the first five favourites at HUNTINGDON. I named the horses and took the prices with a 'Best Odds Guaranteed' bookmaker. Stakes to win per £5 were £4, £4.50, £6.00, £6.50 & £36. Total = £57 which is a total risk of 4.7% of my bank. You can also 'play' this system on Betfair of course but you have to put the bets on race by race and stop when you hit a winner. In the last race of my first five, the 4.10, Number 7 QALINAS is a red hot favourite at 8/11, hence the hefty stake required on that one relative to the others. Hopefully I will have a win with this system today.
I have also covered CATCH BOB and LIGHTENING ROD in the 2.50 at SEDGEFIELD for £10 on each plus a £12 PLACE bet on BALLEYVESEY in the 3.40 at Huntingdon in the hope that the RacingPost 'Trading Post' and the RacingUK Icard Predictor have got it right. They go for 1st but I think a PLACE bet here for evens is the safest option.
Have to dash - see you later.
