The £1Million Challenge
Start Bank £1,000
Current Bank £1,802.54 (+80%)

Hello again,
my Betfair record will show I had five bets and five wins yesterday. They were three Win bets with THE STRAWBERRY ONE, NOW THIS IS IT and MAID IN MOSCOW and two Place bets which were SPICE FAIR and TAKE IT TO THE MAX. They provided a profit of +£111.25 which basically meant I managed to exceed my 5% growth weekly target for this week, which was £84, in one day.

Now all I have to do is hold on to it and try to build on it during the rest of the week. I have now passed Step 12 of my 142 Step journey to £Million. Only another 130 Steps to go! Just to recap: If you put £1,000 into a spread sheet and apply compounding at 5% per week it becomes over £Million in 142 steps. The trick is finding an investment vehicle which can deliver 5% growth per week! In my case it is sports betting because I love it and its gonna be a fun-filled journey I'm sure.

I have had four bets today: LEICESTER 3.45 Number 1 JACKS REVENGE, FFOS LAS 6.10 Number 2 I'M THE DECIDER, YARMOUTH 6.20 Number 3 SELINDA and FFOS LAS 7.50 Number 2 FORT VIEW. I got odds of 2.1, 1.51, 1.54, and 2.93 respectively and my stakes were 1.5% (£27) on each of them.

As ever, my goal is to make an overall profit on the day. Hey the bank is at 80% growth and I am looking forward to my first Doubling point which shouldnt' be too long now as it is at Step 15 on my plan.

Have to dash, much to do.

My 5 Bets on Sunday

29 May 11 13:17
Start Bank £1,000
Current Bank £1,620 (+62%)

Hello again,

yesterday I made a small net loss on my horseracing bets but then I had a winning trade with my football bet, so I made a small net profit overall on the day. I have been asked to explain a bit more about my 'Lay the Draw and then back it when a goal is scored strategy' so I will; All you do is Lay the Draw in matches where there is a good probability of a goal being scored.

Then as soon as a goal is scored you Back the Draw by dividing your lay bet liability by one less than the new odds to arrive at your back the Draw stake. In last nights match for example, I Layed the Draw for £40 at odds of 3.55 giving me a Liability of £102. When Barcelona scored the Draw odds went out to 7.6 so I divided my liability of £102 by 6.6 and backed the Draw with a stake of £17. This locked in a profit of £23 whatever happened, being the difference between my Lay and back stake.

Now, I am only playing with tens on this bank, so I only won £23 less commission. But when you are playing with Hundreds you likewise can win hundreds! You can also LOSE if its 0-0 so my 'get out clause' is to Back the Draw anyway at the 75th minute and take a smaller 'hit' than I would at 90 minutes. Hope I've explained that clearly for those who want to know.

Today I have invested 5 X 1.5% bets = 7.5% in total. If I get zero return my bank goes back to £1500 so I am hoping for a 'result' today. I have backed NOTTINGHAM 2.20 Number 2 JOHNNY HAN**** for a place at 2.16 Place odds.

And NOTTINGHAM 1.50 Number 7 DARK AGES at 2.66 to win, also FONTWELL 4.00 Number 3 BAJAN SUNSHINE to win at 2.44 and finally in the 5.10 at UTTOXETER I have backed two horses; Number 1 CYGNET at 5.14 and Number 6 RAJNAGAN at 3.51 and if either of them wins I make my profit on the bet.

Finally, please believe me when I say I am EVER SO conscious that these Blogs should be totally 'user friendly' and non-commercial so I will only ever mention genuine Freebies for you and one resides at www.7freesystems.com in case you are interested.

Mmmm Sunday Dinner smells good! (Roast Beef) T.T.F.N.

Saturdays Bets (6)

28 May 11 13:44
Start Bank £1,000
Current bank £1,611.35 (+61%)

Hello again,

Lost a bit yesterday on PICKLED PELICAN and MAQARAAT. But as I said on my club Blog today - "losses are just the temporary fee we have to pay to the bookies from time to time for our ultimate success!" So long as your general trend is on an upward curve you know you must be doing something right. The unfortunate thing for me though is that I genuinely expect to win on every single bet!

Today there is lots of very competetive racing and I think it's a good day to be a Bookie. Nevertheless after much head scratching I have settled on six bets and all things considered I'll be happy if I make an overall profit from these on the day.

I have backed three horses to get a PLACE: HAYDOCK 2.05 Number 8 ZUIDER ZEE, HAYDOCK 4.45 Number 4 FREDERICK ENGELS and STRATFORD 6.50 Number 7 HEALTH IS WEALTH. I got 1.96, 1.88 and 1.84 on them respectively. And my two WIN bets today are CATTERICK 4.40 number 10 COLLECT ART and CARTMEL 6.05 Number 1 ESCUDERO. My odds were 3.54 and 1.96 respectively. I staked 1.5% (£24) on each of the selections.

I have also entered a Trading situation on the Football tonight. The Champions League final between BARCELONA and MAN UTD promises to be a real treat and I'll definitely be breaking a can or two of Bud during the match. I'll be cheering on the Red Devils but my Trade is to Lay the Draw and then Back the Draw at the better odds when a goal is scored. If no goal is scored by the 75th minute I'll have to close my position and take a 'hit'. I staked £40 on the Lay for a Liability of £102 so I am hoping for a goal to be scored before the 75th minute so I can lock in my profit. Well it's certainly going to make my interest in the game a bit more exciting. Come on you Reds!

Hey, thanks for your visit today.

Thursday 5 Bets today

26 May 11 14:34
Start Bank £1,000
Current Bank £1663.95 (+66%)

Hello again,

I didn't bother updating the Blog yesterday as I only had bets on the blindingly obvious ABERGAVENNY and ELMAAM at short odds.

I have had five bets today which I will share with you. SANDOWN 6.00 Number 3 CHAIN OF EVENTS I staked 1.5% on this one for a Place to get 1st, 2nd 3rd, at 2.22 Place odds. I have also staked 2% on NEWCASTLE 6.55 number 1 DUBAI DYNAMO. This one is at shorter odds of 1.34 for the Place hence my slightly bigger stake.

I have backed two 'obvious' horses for a 1.5% Win Double and they are BRIGHTON 4.40 Number 1 DYSIOS and WETHERBY 5.40 Number 1 SOUNDS OF THUNDER at 1.21 and 1.4 respectively.

And I have two 'Dutching' bets where I have backed two horses in each race. They are FOLKESTONE 3.30 Number 1 MOUSIE and Number 4 MISS MUGA. I staked 1.5% on each of them. I will take a small loss on this one if the favourite wins at 1.8 and I am hoping for the second favourite to win at 3.3 odds for the profit on the bet.

Similarly in the 6.30 at SANDOWN this evening I have backed Number 1 BANNOCK and Number 3 MAGIC CITY, 1.5% on each of them again and I am hoping that BANNOCK wins at the 4.1 odds I got for a nice profit. If MAGIC CITY wins then there's no harm done as I got a shade odds against at 2.18.

My total investment today is 10.93% so I really hope I make an overall profit and not a big loss!

Some good racing to enjoy today, particularly at Sandown this evening. I was going to back Sir Michael Stoute's horse WORKFORCE in the 7.40 race and then I saw that the stats and Pricewise are against him. I do take a lot of notice of 'Pricewise' in the RacingPost so I'll just sit that one out.

Drat - rain lashing down and only two buds left in the fridge. Looks like I'll have to get wet.

Hello again,

today is the beginning of my new week and also my weekly 'update' day. I had an excellent +£84.40 day yesterday. My record will show I had wins with PEACHEY MOMENT (3/1) and THEORETICALLY and GOLDIKOVA and SO YOU THINK and two successful Place bets with TOGETHER at the Curragh and SPECIAL PORTRAIT at Kelso. There was only one disappointment for me yesterday and that was SANSILI in the 2.30 at FAKENHAM.

This meant I sailed past my win target of £1620 to a new high of £1680, (+£137 for the week). This takes me to Step 10 of 142 on my mathematical journey and I feel I am starting to get somewhere now, especially as the growth accleration is kicking in. My 5% Win target for this week is £84 which would see me finish the week at £1,764.

I have two x 1.5% investments to start the week, both in the same race. WINDSOR 6.10 Number 1 TIOMAN LEGEND and Number 6 STARFLY. I got 2.74 for TIOMAN LEGEND and 4.06 for STARFLY so I am hoping that STARFLY wins for the greater profit but I won't mind if TIOMAN goes in. Total risk today is 3%.

I have increased my base stake minimum to 1.5% to make life easier and progress even faster - engage Warp drive Scotty!

Time for lunch. T.T.F.N.

Hello again,
what happened to PHIL TAYLOR in the darts? I would have been a mug if I couldn't make some money from the darts Finals, so I backed ANDERSON in the next match against Barneveld and won it back. I also backed PETERBOROUGH to win in their match against MK DONS (won 2-0) with a covering bet on the Draw at 90 minutes just in case, so ended up +£13.45 on the day.

I don't really like 'chasing losses' as it is generally the quick way to the poor house but sometimes when you see options you have to take them when you can.

Provided I don't have a Nuclear wipe out day I stand a good chance of hitting my weekly target today (£1620). What is happening now is that my growth is starting to accelerate due to the compounding factor kicking in. This is due to my percentage staying the same relevant to my growing bank. So my stakes get bigger and bigger but still in the same proportion percentage wise to my bank.

Today I have had four win bets and three Place bets. The Win bets are on TRUMPET MAJOR, Goodwood 3.50, & JET AWAY in the 4.25 and at Newbury 7.40 FOXTROT HOTEL and Lingfield 7.55 SKILFUL. My Place bets are on BEACHFIRE in the 2.45 at Goodwood, FREQUENCY in the 1.50 at Chester and GRANNY MCPHEE in the 2.55 at Chester.

If I make an overall profit on the day I'll be a happy bunny as I still have Sunday to go to hit my target this week.

Thanks for your visit today,

Hello again,

"Many a Mickle Maks a Muckle" - Mr Hudson said that in Upstairs Downstairs many years ago. God knows why I remember things like that, but I do and it has a lot of relevance to what I am trying to do. It means of course that lots of little things add up to a Big thing.

I started this week at £1543.78 and progress has been slow with only £12.99 to show for my efforts so far. But I only need £77.18 in total to hit my 5% target, so another £64.19 to go.

Today all I can find is four short-priced opportunities to collect. If successful they will yield £6, £16.75, £7, & £10.80 individually. But add them all together and it comes to £40.55 which is well over half my weekly target. So I am hoping that they all come in. I staked 1.66% (3 X 1.66 =5% Maximum exposure) on each of these horses to win: HAYDOCK 5.05 Number 10 SOLAR SKY, SANDOWN 5.50 Number 5 NAYARRA and SOUTHWELL 3.15 Number 2 LA ESTRELLA. Then I backed PHIL 'The Power' TAYLOR to Win the Darts Final tonight with an additional 2% (£30) at 1.36. My total investment is a tad under 7% and I am hoping for that 'Muckle'.

Thanks for your visit today.

Smashing Through Barriers!

16 May 11 13:22
Start Bank £1,000
Current Bank £1,543 (+54%)

Hello again and thanks for your visit today. My Header today is 'Smashing Through Barriers!' and I am very pleased to report that my bank has just smashed through the 50% barrier. Hooray! I have now passed Step 8 of my 142 Step plan on my mathematical journey to £1Million. This represents 5.63% of my journey completed.

This week my 5% Win Target is £77 which will see me finish the week at £1,620 (+62%), which is further growth of 8% in just one week. Growth like this makes the Halifax AER of 2% look a bit sick don't you think? So why don't more people make money from Sports Betting instead of sticking it in a Building Society? Well because in order to succeed you need to have a sound financial management system and to see the world in terms of percentages so that your risk and goals are always in proportion to your bank. One of the other barriers I am always having to smash through is 'skepticism' and I have no doubt that many people are hoping I will fall flat on my face!

My aim, as I mentioned at the start of this journey is to publicly prove that it is possible to make a fortune from Sports Betting so I can wave two fingers at those skeptics at Google and Facebook who don't allow betting publications as it realy peeved me off when they rejected my book ads. Plus I want a new Boat! For those of you who are slightly curious - the one I have in mind is called a Legend e36 at £135,956. Yes, I know that's way short of a £million but I'm gonna need some spending money on my retirement travels!

I am starting this week with a total of 5.5% invested in a 2.5% Win bet on the Richard Hannon trained hotpot MAGIC CITY in the 6.30 at Windsor this evening and I have three 1% Place bets going: 3.00 Bath WITCHRY, 5.10 Wolver ISHIKAWA and 7.10 Leicester FREMEN. I don't expect to win every bet, not by a long chalk, and my objective is just to make an overall profit of 5% of my bank over the week and that's all I need to stay on track.

Fingers crossed for today.

Hello again,

Well it's F A Cup Final day! Should be a good match. MAN CITY are the favourites to win, but hey it's the Cup Final and STOKE could cause an upset, so I have covered two out of three options. I backed MAN CITY to win at 1.93 with 5% of the bank (£73) and then I covered the stake of £73 with a bet on STOKE to win at 4.5 with a stake of 1.4% (£21). I will lose if it's a Draw at 90 minutes, so I am hoping that MAN CITY are in front when the whistle blows. My total 'risk' on this match is 6.4%

There is a BIG race at NEWBURY today at 3.45 'The Lockinge Stakes' which is a Group 1 race with £99,347.50 up for grabs for the winner.

I have backed CANFORD CLIFFS to win plus a Place bet on Henry Cecil's horse TWICE OVER to finish 1st, 2nd or 3rd.

Altogether I have a total of 11% invested in bits and pieces but those are my main bets for today. I'll either crash through the 50% barrier or go backwards a bit, so I am hoping to maintain my forward momentum today.

Have to dash - got to get my Buds in for the match!

6 Bets for Today

13 May 11 11:40
Start Bank £1,000
Current Bank £1,455 (+45%)

Hello again,

well my Laptop was declared D.O.A. at the computer hospital so I am now the proud owner of a new Toshiba. Why don't these things come 'fully loaded'? - took me two days to get everything up and running!

Some really good racing to enjoy today at York, Newmarket, Aintree etc. It takes me an hour of preliminary research each evening and then between two to three hours each morning to 'firm up' on these selections, so when I put my bets on it is with a fair degree of confidence. I have backed two horses to Win today: Newmarket 2.50 Number 7 SKIP ALONG - selected by my Master Key system, stake 2.5%, and also Newmarket 4.00 Number 2 SEAL ROCK, stake 1% to Win.

I have also selected four horses which have a great chance of winning but the percentage call is to back them in Place bets so that we get a return if they finish 1st, 2nd, or 3rd, and they are York 3.00 Number 5 FLOOD PLAIN, Newmarket 3.25 Number 4 LUNAR VICTORY, and two at Aintree this evening - in the 7.05 Number 1 A BRIDGE TOO FAR and in the 8.10 race Number 1 LION ON THE PROWL.

My total stakes for all six bets today are 7.5% and the objective as ever is to make an overall profit on the day.

Thanks for your visit. Hey, have a great day! Bye for now.
