With this approach, does it not offer a better return if you have a minimum price on the fave of, say 3/1 or a race that offers no less than (example) 10% return?

Also, with some of the longer odd horses on your dutch, have you ever looked at, for example, EW dutching the longer odd horses while remaining with just the win market on the balance?

The first race today actually returned 11% using the multiples to place it, so this is what I was aiming for this morning as you can see from the post. I try to stick to a minimum 10% threshold, but as I'm using SP it's not always possible. Like today a race which was this morning 5% to dutch ended with a 23% return for me, so it swings in roundabouts. I always prefer a dutch than fiddling with numbers trying to cover every option, and E/W bets are also double the stake as you know to cover the E/W aspect of the bet, only paying a quarter or one fifth for a place, so it would take some juggling to get it all to the same equal stake I use for a dutch bet, and would it be the best overall? It would be difficult to record the results and see what was working best, but if you're up to the job I'd be keen to see what you come up with!? So in answer, I'd have to say at this moment in time I think it's better to create an equal profit overall on these bets as I currently do by dutching them, but yes definitely I agree trying to lock in a min 10% return is the best way to do it. 14% return on the second Dutch bet, 11% on the first gave us a combined multiple return of 25%.
