Hi lads, just a reminder to post your selections here as well as the compy selections threads. Literally just got home so tomorrow I will be available if anybody has any questions or views to discuss re- cut off time, wildcards etc.
Good morning lads, not a lot in it for the final day of the round and no need for tilting at windmills. We have 5 bullets so a fair chance of some decent point providing we make them count, easier said than done tbf.

Going with Urban Lion 1405 hrs Sand, currently around 9/4. Beat the fav lto when beaten in a photo at Newbury, his best run to date. Slightly more weight to give to the fav today so could be tight but he looks the more progressive as a 4 yo with more to come I hope.

A reprieve from Undecided and a lesson to look at the clock on my laptop instead of a wall clock, I had meant to put it up much earlier but forgot. Stuffed anyway and cost a few hundred like a couple of others in the evening.

Good morning lads, have spent some time between last night and this morning considering the betting in the 1405 hrs at Mkt Rase. The reason it caught my eye is that in my view the bookies have it wrong, they have Climbing and Camino Rocio very close together but it varies between them. Climbing between 5/4 and 7/4 and 11/8 and 7/4 Camino.
Both 7 year olds returning to hurdles having been chasing and neither having achieved anything in that sphere other than a single place for Climbing from 3 runs, Camino unplaced in 5. The difference is that Camino has won 5 chases and been placed twice whilst Climbing has won 1 and placed 3 times but is very inconsistent and beaten 55L and 52L in two from his last 3 either side of beaten by a neck.
Camino was in fine form for this yard until his last 2 runs being pulled up lto, he is 5lb lower over timber whereas Climbing's rating is the same, Camino is also proven at the trip albeit Climbing was beaten only a neck over 2 furlongs longer but followed that with the 52L defeat over half a furlong shorter.
Enough waffling, I just think Camino in new headgear and relative consistently could translate his chase form back to timber more reliably than Climbing and possibly make all. If I was making the book I would have Camino a shade of odds on hence why I think the books may have it wrong.
Any thoughts on Camino for a compy selection and opinions on my view welcome?

Going for Distillate in 8.00 Down Royal EW. Did do a little write up about it lto on 6/6 copy/paste below.
stewarts rise06 Jun 25 17:55Joined: 22 Apr 04 | Topic/replies: 32,716 Tempted to put up Distillate 6.35 Fairy, appears to be running into form and certainly a mark he's capable of winning from, but rather worried about the 1 stall today, might have a little bet for an interest but doubt i'll put in comp, due to having never ran here and a higher draw may be better.
stewarts rise06 Jun 25 18:29Joined: 22 Apr 04 | Topic/replies: 32,716 Got boxed in on rail with nowhere to go but once extricated ran on well for 3rd, will be winning soon imo.
Drawn in stall 8 tonight, hopefully get a clear run, the winner "I bid you Ajou" had a 10lb claimer riding it from a mark of 66 but followed up over same C/D from 75 no claim. Distillate up 2lbs so hopefully go close tonight. Expect will be about 13/2-15/2.

Good morning lads, best of luck for todays pickers. Please try and have the picks up by 1430 hrs and if anyone wants to suggest a wildcard just in case please do the same.

Not to worry NEC, had a free tenner on the winner but would rather have had the points from yours. Just Foyles and Acey left to go but do you want to nominate a wildcard just in case?

early pick this week its the chepstow rail bias again lambournghini 4.55pm race market rivals drawn 1&2 stall 6 of 8 but 7 is a bad breaker & 8 apprentice ridden hold up horse dropping from 1m likely bounce out ride & gets joe 1st time impossible to be off the board imo 7/2 e/w dead 8

Very well done Wonders, think that's your last 2 selections that have won. This comp can be so infuriating though can't it, whether to post or not. My selection last week Distillate i decided to put up after i'd given it a good mention here for it's previous run but didn't select it that day when was an unlucky 3rd. Got no run at all last week when squeezed out around bend. Yesterday a horse i'd put up the week before Magnetic North who ran unplaced in a claimer against some much higher rated horses (daft selection in hindsight), ran in a h'cap with good 7lb claiming jockey Nicola Burns riding it and hacked up by 3 1/2 lengths at 12/1 but decided not to select it after Distillate disappointed, so annoying.

Unlucky barstool, didn't realise you had put this up when I watched the race, stuck on the rails, as you say not a great ride tbf.
Looking at She's Divine 1415 hrs Carlisle. She ran an odds on fav close on debut at Wolves over 6 furlongs which indicates she has ability. The fav also ran fairly well over 6F on debut but has to give 5lb and not sure the drop to 5f will suit as much as it will suit She's Divine.
A big change in ground for both but I hope the filly either makes the running or is right on the pace over this stiff 5f, hard to peg back prominent runners in this ground, she has been on the drift but backed her @ 5/2.
Thoughts or opinions welcome before putting her up.

looks a good race to play in cg as fahey 2yos are 2 from 39 this year & a historical theme with his that they have a tendency to recoil from debut 1st time on soft ground for all of these (bar the rag run on g/s) so probably a layers race but gl if going with it

A belated hello lads, been unable to log in until now, hope you are all logged in for the final day. Just in case anyone is having log in issues could you all have a wildcard pick on standby.
We are playing for a place so fingers crossed we can have a few more winners to help in that regard, as always can you please have selections up by 1430 hrs to give us time to decide wildcards if needed.

much better last time when running on 4th (disq for rider not weighing in) this 2f step up in trip looks a good move and more wide open course should suit better than Chester for this hold up performer

Have gone with I Am Superman EW 1.50 Curragh. Has been campaigned over too short a distance this season, which i think was to get it's mark down, noted running on strongly over 7fs lto with todays 5lb claimer retained. A decent horse a couple of years ago when running in Australia. Won from 104 just over a year ago, so some 20lb less today taking into account Keithens allowance. Might as well go out with a bang rather than a whimper.

Typical of my luck this comp, traded under evens IR and probably btn a nose/sh/hd for 3rd. Started off with Stateman in CH, 1.03 fell over the last at about 8/1 and ends with IAS at 25/1 4th. Never mind well done fellas for keeping going till the end even though couldn't win. If undecided does another think i'll concentrate on shorter priced Win bets as EW you've got to back something at 16/1 1/5 to make more points than an Even money winner if selection only placed, good comp though and whatever Rico says, it's not easy to pick one bet a week and at least all the teams competitors have a go, unlike Rico. See you next time.
