Please note:

Although I will still be trying to even out the meetings between the six tracks, the more competitive meetings will be given preference on days when there is more than one meeting on, so please check this thread if you want to know two days in advance what the selected meeting is.

Exceptions to this could be when a meeting is in the balance because of adverse weather and an inspection is planned, then the other meeting may be chosen regardless of field sizes.

Hi George

I checked just before going to bed,and told Pat when I went up-stairs--she was so delighted--as I have said before--Pat is now 92--suffers with many medical problems--latest being dementia-struggles with walking around the house(uses furniture for balance)--BUT at this moment in time she is in the bathroom washing the floor,and cleaning the toilet and sink,bath(this will take her a long time because of her problems--but refuses to have help!!)--my son is coming from the midlands on Monday--and she wants the place to look spotless!!--her system has not changed over the years--uses the Daily Mail---I cross out the non runners and any that are over 20/1--after that it is down to her favourite jockey's( Luke Morris--often asks me why I have crossed his horse out,and I tell her it is 33/1--and then she still pick's it) and trainers--Appleton is her favourite(not a bad choice)---then hands me the list--which I check and find letters or whole words missing from the name of the horse--again down to her concentration problems--But in my eyes she is amazing.

Sorry to hear about Pat's problems, hope she can stay as well as possible for as long as possible.

I was reading yesterday about Eric Alston's sad story and why he's had to retire. His wife Sue, who's 77, was obviously a big part of the operation, had started to forget little things, which initially Eric just put down to getting older, but then one day they were at Nottingham, a track she'd driven the horsebox to loads of times, when she turned round and said to him that she'd never been there before in her life. Her dementia was diagnosed two years ago, and Eric said in the RP interview, that it just wasn't the same anymore going racing without her.

On a lighter note, Roy, now you've divulged Pat's system, everyone will be rushing out to buy the Daily Mail!
