A couple of big bazookas to brighten up the final day, and a chunky score that really made a difference.
The biggest basherooni of all came from the appropriately-named Longshot Louie, who broke a month-long drought with Sergeant Tibbs at 20/1.
But when it's the only winner of the month, even that voluminous score isn't going to get you upstairs. He ended in 10th. Similarly Secret Sea rewarded our settling hero swift-tuttle with 11/1 but he had to settle for 12th.
The one that really made a difference was Sweet Glance, which brought home 5/1 for six_six_six and shot him up four spots to second place. Well done that man.
But the day's real plaudits go to qqking, who didn't manage to finish with a hat-trick flourish but had a splendid second half of the month, capped by an 18/1 just over a week ago. Superbulous.
The final three promotees were the only ones to record strike rates of more that 40%. SPY OF JACKDAW CASTLE took third by bagging a 13/2 on day one and banging them in regularly since. His stablemate The Dragon took fourth with the highest rate of the month, 46%. 
It would have been more but for a blank final week. And finally, newcomer 36DD took fifth with another above average strike performance. 
Hard luck story of the day was Monte Christo, bumped out of fifth by the sixer's late charge. And one other score to record today: a 6/5 that left Fortismere in 17th.
Hard luck those that didn't make it but y'all had to be in it to win it and make it a competition so thanks. I hope you all return refreshed for another bumper month. And thanks for all your messages and to KC for his sterling efforts on my behalf this month.
