Just the one thread for this comp I think as we only need it for between 7 to 9 weeks.
I have actually now read ud's two threads and I THINK I have grasped the format,but I just have a feeling there may be some unforeseen consequences.
Basically we have to be one of the 4 teams that survives the group stage in the first 7 weeks. After that it becomes a straightforward semi-finals/final set-up,so I'm pretty certain that we just need to concentrate on making the top 4. Doesn't really matter whether we finish 1st or 4th as far as I can see but 5th or lower sends us packing.
Having 7 teams has complicated matters. In the first week we are playing The Racing Demons but we are also playing TOFTL because they are playing everybody
I don't think we need bother about tactics this week,but notice that no duplicates are allowed with The Racing Demons. I'm not sure whether it applies to TOFTL as well,I have asked ud.
I imagine the 3rd week is going to be the big one for us as that is when WE play everybody so I presume 6x pts are available.
I'd like everybody to read ud's thread please as I may well have missed something. I will be posting for posy but all being well they will be HIS selections.
As usual if anybody knows they are going to be unable to post please let me know asap.

Incidentally the scoring system is even more..er...intricate than I had realised. See ud's selections thread. I suggest we play as normal this first week and then see if there are lessons to be learned.I'm confident none of the other captains are Mensa members so doubt we will be out-manoeuvred this early

Houston we have a problem !
The Demons who are our real opponents this week have landed a 12-1 shot However that is their only score and 4 of them have played. Only two of us have so thanks to Norfolk on a % basis we're not far behind. There is no need to go wild looking for long-shots but I won't be putting up an odds-on shot myself. I am in touch with posy and awaiting his selection. I'm assuming smirnoff,hoof and Lampus are leaving it late like me. If the dealer is not going to put in what would be a very welcome appearance I am going to assume smirnoff is in touch like me with posy. |

im busy trying to get the dealer promoted and will be picking for him - i know dukes usual m.o so shud i be looking for a shorty or just go for it - nee point trying to usurp Chavs gr8 shout the otha day so somewhere in btwn for me - im right in assuming ya pick up points for beating ya opponent for the week - i.e opponent within group yes lol
