Just the one thread for this comp I think as we only need it for between 7 to 9 weeks.
I have actually now read ud's two threads and I THINK I have grasped the format,but I just have a feeling there may be some unforeseen consequences.
Basically we have to be one of the 4 teams that survives the group stage in the first 7 weeks. After that it becomes a straightforward semi-finals/final set-up,so I'm pretty certain that we just need to concentrate on making the top 4. Doesn't really matter whether we finish 1st or 4th as far as I can see but 5th or lower sends us packing.
Having 7 teams has complicated matters. In the first week we are playing The Racing Demons but we are also playing TOFTL because they are playing everybody
I don't think we need bother about tactics this week,but notice that no duplicates are allowed with The Racing Demons. I'm not sure whether it applies to TOFTL as well,I have asked ud.
I imagine the 3rd week is going to be the big one for us as that is when WE play everybody so I presume 6x pts are available.
I'd like everybody to read ud's thread please as I may well have missed something. I will be posting for posy but all being well they will be HIS selections.
As usual if anybody knows they are going to be unable to post please let me know asap.

I've gone for King of May 3.48 Musselburgh. Looks well handicapped and unlike some of them will handle the ground. Only 6 runners so going for the win.

A blank day 
Lampus was dreadfully unlucky and posy's came 4th but should have been at least placed but for a poor ride. Mine was useless as Norfolk so kindly pointed out and I'm afraid I didn't see the other 3.
We still have a decent chance of making the top 4 when it becomes anybody's but we have work to do next week. (And I am well aware that applies to me more than most thank you Norfolk ).

I fancied them both the same, but given how close the Tipster comp was I chose to go for an each way play
1 race had 7 runners the other had 11 runners (eventually 9 with the two NR’s)
So for the naps competition ie win only , I played the one with the smaller field and lower odds , the other with slightly larger odds each way - it’s last four runs were 2311 acts on going it would stay - as it happened unfortunately it unseated.
It didn’t work out but hey ho

Its meant to be a friendly comp just like the prem div is but this bloke who shud know better mekks evrything toxic .

Norfolk has built up a persona he can't get out of and unfortunately it's got out of control.
I've never met him but we've exchanged PMs in the past and I'm sure he's actually a decent bloke. I wouldn't have invited him to join otherwise. But as I've said before I did envisage him pissing out of the tent.
Can we pull together next week and see if we can get some sort of harmony. If not then I might be out as well.

salmon we are not far off the 100pt mark this week and that extra point might well prove to be crucial to us getting thru so in our captain we trust as you know what to do
I'm going to try and work it out during the Breeders Cup tonight.posy reckons we need to be the top scoring team as well.
There is a further 1 bonus point available to any team losing their match but scoring 100pts or more.

The problem we have is that 1pt bonus we get for 100 pts is only available if we lose our match to the Thieves. If we do then we lose 2pts anyway so that's no use. Because we haven't got a good enough overall profit we really need to have the highest score of the week for which we get 2 bonus pts. Unfortunately acey deucey landed a flukey 18-1 winner for some team or other. We're not THAT far behind them so we don't need to go silly but I don't think odds-on shots are a good idea.
There is just one other way we could get through and that is by The Shrewdies who are going solo lose another spot but that's certainly out of our hands. So nothing very short please but 33-1 shots DO need to be e/w.

So we won our match but couldn't finish top 4 ? Agree about the staking but it's easy with hindsight, we should have left one selection until late on when we had a clearer picture about what was needed.
