my nap this week coming up tomorrow holwah 4.10 lingfield
quite a hot race imo for the level but on both the sandown runs I think holwah 72 is lenient (future 74 surely still too low also)...2nd start ran miss jingles & zoetic close both now rated in the 90s, lto ran well nursery debut winner perotto was +4 that day now rated in the 90s, millman horse in 2nd won @ windsor the other day as well
crowley booked
dry day f/c so likely nearer good ground tomorrow
would prefer a stands side draw only thing that puts me off as everything else is right

Have put Walking on glass as my selection today fellas, runs in the ceasarewitch trial at Down Roral 3.10, far but must have a great chance with Micky Sheedy taking 7lbs off after a 4lb rise for winning last time. Need a winner for this comp.

I'm a bit tempted by Rux Ruxx for Tim in the 2:20 Thirsk.

The Wolves run hinted at it maybe coming to hand for the season , the last run at Catterick was over early, little chance after slow start that day from the back in that mire (the card my last selection was sunk on in the bog).

Tim very good at placing his older horses in these 3up hcps this sort of class and this includes those that haven't won in the class or higher before.

Him and Dave get plenty of winners at prices with this sort of recent form and Tim decent enough at the track in these hcps. Gut feeling it may put in a decent run here today at a price.

Decisions decisions.

Queen Gamrah is one of MJ's I was expecting to step up over extra distance as it matures a bit. Reasonable danger with sire that she will be a better AW horse.

Not run for a couple of months off and very weak in mkt, watching brief only at present.

Follow Intello is one I had been intending to back this season in a 4up class 5 (3up class 5 today back over last successful CD) but I was underwhelmed by it's last effort and headgear reached for has put me off it (runs in the 2:10 Haydock).

I am putting this up on all team threads to hopefully get your agreement to a scoring change, mid-competition, something I don't like doing but I think in this case it warrants it.
The scoring method I use gives back 10pts stake to winners, and doesn't take it off losers, so it makes no difference to winning Win or EW selections.
Where the selection is placed, I have been only giving back the 5pts place part of the stake, so the 5pts win stake is deducted but really shouldn't be.

So for example
Current scoring
1/4 winner gets 12.50 (2.50 profit plus 10pts stake back)
6/1 placed at quarter odds gets 12.50 (7.50 profit plus 5pts stake back)

Proposed scoring
1/4 winner gets 12.50 (2.50 profit plus 10pts stake back)
6/1 placed at quarter odds gets 17.50 (7.50 profit plus 10pts stake back)

There has been a question on why I give the stake back. I wanted to keep the week's scoring baseline at zero rather than work with minuses for losses.
So a team with 8 non-selections or losing selections stays on zero rather than -80, it's just tidier in my opinion and makes no material difference to scoring other than the place anomaly.

striding, can’t put u off,Rux Ruxx, jockey has won on the horse and fairly handicapped,so won’t be surprise to see it pop up.
My fancy in that race is  Entrancing, Hanagan eager to catch up on a few winners.Grin

Undecided

I'm absolutely fine with whatever you decide I don't know why some get so anal with these things. Wink

As long as everyone is in the same boat the scoring doesn't bother me.

Tangle we could do with a priced winner!

I'll see what the odds are nearer the orf.

GL today stew & my view on the scoring is you should probably re-calculate the scores based on the existing rules
rather than change the rules

but I am not running the comp

I wouldn't usually be looking at Rux Ruxx's CV and thinking yes looks one to back in this race.

It's all about the trainer and how he places his horses. Remember this season when I blanked Afandem and it nearly came up at Ripon in a class 3 in similar, today's is in the same group.

TBH I'm getting highly frustrated with my notebook it has dozens of horses in it and since this comp started the ones coming out of it have not been in the right races IMO (none have won when being left yet).

There will definitely be some that fit before the end of the bl00dy thing Grin

Tangle as long as it doesn't drift ridiculously late I'll play it EW.

no point as we get SP committing early.
By:
tanglefoot
When: 04 Sep 20 13:37
Yes,it is always best to wait and see if the horse drifts ,especially betfair betting,, if drift like a barge ,they are usually spot on.
By:
stridingedge
When: 04 Sep 20 13:40
I'm not that bothered about the betting like some, I've done research and I can look at the trainers movemenets early and late according to industry moves.

It's all about context some drifts worse than others. A lot of trainers offer NO value when their horses are hammered unless you are on earlier.

yeah I think in future I'll whack mine up late as well SE
holwah a nap for me @ 6s night before but was no bet at all @ 3s!!
judicial wouldn't have been a nap @ 6/4 either, was 7/2 when I put it up (he's out sunday as well Love)
By:

When: 04 Sep 20 13:47
You've nailed some good prices mate, I'm not knocking the comp at all but it's a fact you don't get the reward playing early when you beat the odds so there is no advantage playing too early.
