1 - You have to choose 1 horse each day. Winners will be returned at SP/Industry Prices and stake is 1 point. If no SP/Industry Price is returned winning selections will be settled as non-runners.
2 - Only UK and Irish races featured on the Racing Post daily cards page are eligible.
3 - Selections must be posted AT LEAST 1 hour before the scheduled start time of your selected race. Failure to comply will result in the selection being declared Invalid and treated as a Non Selection. See rule 8.
4 - Selections may be changed as long as it is at least 1hr prior to the scheduled start time of your original race OR if the selection is a NR or deemed invalid ( Rule 3 MUST still be adhered to).
5 - Rule 4 and Dead Heat rules will apply to SP/Industry Prices.
6 - Sunday selections will be optional unless it is the last day of the month. On optional Sundays there will be no deductions for non-posters and Rule 8 will not apply.
7 - LAST DAY RULES for the last day of the month : all selections must be made BY THE SCHEDULED OFF TIME OF THE FIRST RACE of the day, you can't choose a horse already selected by another competitor in the same division, and only named horses are allowed. Detailed rules are posted on the last day of the month.
8 - On any day that a competitor does not post (excluding Sundays and final days) they will automatically revert to a possible maximum of 5 rest days per calendar month, which will be settled as a non-runner. However, once the total of non-posting days for a month reaches 5, further days when no selections are made in that month will be classed as a loser. You have the option of other napsters to post on your behalf for as long as required if you wish.
9 - Reserve selections will only be allowed to cover the possibility of a meeting being abandoned.
10 - In the event of a tie the person who has used least rest days will be deemed to finish above the person they have tied with.
11 - In the event of a major Betfair upgrade which may affect the ability to post on the Forum before racing starts that day will have Sunday rules applied (ie. no deduction for non-posters).
12 - Quite often, things can crop up that aren`t strictly covered by the above rules (grey areas) in these instances please abide by the individual settler`s decision/ruling.
Like the other settlers I use a spreadsheet to scrape the selections from the forum and match them up with the results. If the selections are written in the format Nijinsky - 4.30 Plumpton (they don't need to be in bold!) then they will automatically be matched with the results without me having to do anything. Which is a very good thing. But if they are written in your own idiosyncratic format such as 430 P Nijinski, then they often don't get matched up and I have to manually do the matching. Which is a bad thing. Because the more trouble the process is for us settlers then the less likely we'll want to continue doing it. 95% of people get it right and I thank you all for that.
The taxi that picked me up and arrived dead on time was TW Cabs and it’s driver Reged who looked to be on a downer on this last day of August insisted I was to be blindfolded for this visit to the premier palace. On arrival a transvestite going by the name of Scissors cut away my blindfold and binoculars were not needed to see the disappointment on his face after he lost the title by a little more than a Country mile. Just outside the grand entrance by the wrought iron gate sat a beggar who asked me if I had some loose change to spare for a hot-pot, he stared up at me with his hands cupped and begged please, please I am desperate. He repeated his plea and I realised he hadn’t said hot-pot he was begging for a place-pot ffs. He had more than a canny resemblance to Hongkongfuey who had suffered a mighty fall from grace. I remembered days from years gone by and thought this was my chance, so I bent down and gave him a dead leg in each leg and said “take that you bastard” and then burnt a £20 note in front of his eyes. This place was a far cry from Reginald street on Desolation Row and I couldn’t help but spare a thought for ex popular settler Shanelee who is currently living there in a damp cold rusty corrugated shed and was last seen burning his form books to keep warm. I should really take him a blanket as I remember when I was hungry and he was in a decent place he kindly took me and my family in his home and fed us well......then again I can’t be arsed. In the next room I could hear a voice talking and talking and talking so I looked through the window and behind bars I spied a sad figure of a man and he started shouting abuse at me , I assumed this to be Tommy Robinson. Next I arrived at the “Members Only” bookmakers and at the front of the queue was a man dressed as a Soldier picking up his winnings from a successful £1.00 7 horse accumulator , he seemed overjoyed with his £9.50 returns. Next in line at the “Collect” counter a man with a golden handle cane in one hand and a odds on bible in the other was collecting a wad of notes after successfully backing a 16/1 winner and when the stunning topless blonde with the big boobs said well done Mr Spray it was then I knew I was dreaming. Oh well maybe next month China?

Cheers Salmon I must explain my mate HKF was a little hard bastard when he was in his youth and many a day passed outside Reg Boyle bookmakers stood outside listening to the tannoy hoping for success with our tanner up and down doubles and HKF was a bad loser so would take his frustration out on his mates getting us all in the Boston Crab and inflicting pain on us with knuckles that would leave us with dead legs. He is way past his fighting days now struggling even to play walking football.

What happened at Beverley HKF sideways or backwards ? I thought the fav was damn unlucky in the bullet , jockey had loads of horse left but got stopped when trying to put foot down twice. Defo would have won.
