A month with a final twist as xmoneyx bagged a 5/2 winner to grab top spot at the last gasp.Very well done to our latest champion, after a short but interesting month. We didn't quite hit the highs of some previous months, but it was a good duel. It's always great to win with a final flourish, but of course what did it for the money man more than anything was his 25/1 slammer in mid-month, the absolute highlight of his six winners. Very well done indeed!
So betme let it slip at the end,
but he had been luckless the last few days. Overall it was a great performance with one of the highest strike rates and winners that included a 6/1 and two 5/1s. And what to say of sonofshinner, who we know of old is a superb napster but spent so much of the month languishing in the darkness? All that changed two days ago when he exploded with a 20/1 strike. Luvvit! That's the way to get promoted!
Fidway was one of four winners today with a shortie to give him a bit of an edge in a tight finish. In the end it actually bumped him up a couple to fourth, so the gamble paid off handsomely. Fidders' big moment came a few days back with a 16/1 humdinger. He's a competition stalwart and its great to see him going back upstairs. And finally, a sterling performance from newcomer Markyacard, who slipped one to fifth today but held on to promotion. A 6/1 and 12/1 double just over a week back was his passport to success. Big congrats, and may all of you be successful among the 'nobs'.
Hard luck the rest, although most really went for it, which was good to see. It was frustrating that I had to rule out some entries for doubles or bad timing. Hard luck to Whippin Piccadilly, who just lost out on promotion at the end, despite the second-highest strike rate (not hard to guess that motseel had the highest with all his shorties!
).
Oh, and I must mention our two other winners. You'll see why. First off madhatter grabbed a 5/2 number to rise to 10th and some other geyser called Reged scored just his third winner of the month - at 12/1! That'd be Hurricane Higgins then! Even though it was nowhere near enough to get me upstairs it put a big smile on my face. Are you there pete?
There ya go, another month, another set of winners and losers. But there are no real losers in that, hopefully, you all enjoyed taking part. For which, whether you bear a golden crown or a wooden spoon, many thanks and hope to see you all next month - apart from the promoted ones of course!
