WD china with the place points, we both picked 11/4 shots that got placed. Not big scores, but better than a 10 pts win that would have given us zero. Never mind, onwards and upwards. Off to Ascot at lunchtime and if Pallasator and Lord Gordon Byron both win, the company can forget me returning to work on Tuesday

Enjoy your day Andrew. Found the card impossible to be honest but good luck with your selections. Ascot one of the courses I've never been to.

Thanks china. i'm glad I didn't change Ascot for Newmarket today looking at the results, it would have been a disaster. I've been to Ascot before, although the last time was when Frankel ran his last race (what an occasion that was). I booked this trip up some time ago hoping to pay for the weekend with Kingman and Australia an added bonus, but it's not to be. I'll still enjoy the day, who knows it may still be profitable, but it doesn't look like a champions day card.

Far too late in the year run on awful ground , doesn't work imo. October is the hardest month for backing with the switchover from flat to jumps , finding it really tough. Laying has been the way to go this month so far.

That was my first thought George having watched it again though the jock gives him plenty of encouragement to go forward early on but the horse just didnt get the early position you need on the 5f course at Kempton. Thats 50-60 rated horses for you though i suppose. We have been pretty unlucky this week.
Never fear though i can feel three storming selections coming today |

Have a great day Andrew, hope you find a couple of winners.

5.30 Cheltenham - How About It WIN
Obviously, a bit of a shot in the dark but I like betting bumpers. This horse has by far and away the best NH pedigree in the race. He will eventually want a trip but the better ones in the family have been able to win in this sphere and a stiff track and softening ground should help. Hopefully, the stable is just running into a bit of form. Of the others Moon Racer was more expensive but I don't think his win amounted to much and I would usually be looking to swerve Ferguson's runners on anything other than 'speed' tracks. Going For Gold is clearly well regarded but would have to step up massively on his debut to win this. Good luck to those left to play. |

Good luck dd, all the best mate.

Good luck differentdrum, as it's after 3pm, have you got a reserve, just in case?
|
|
By:
Gone with Mizzava, 5pts EW 3.50 Cork
I'm a bit concerned she ideally wants a stiffer test, but she's been running OK at Group 3 level, and I'm going to give her a chance eased back in grade on softer ground. She won her maiden on soft and was possibly unlucky not to win a Listed race on soft ground at Naas last season. (Reserve: Sword Fight, 4.20 Cork) Good luck all. |

Hopefully not needed but reserve would be Celtic Agent EW in the same race.

Just noticed you`ve posted your reserve dd, nice one.
George - FCH hasn`t posted yet. If he doesn`t before 3pm, would you be kind enough to select a wildcard? |

No excuses for mine, first beaten and a shocking performance. |

Same here dd, tracking the eventual winner turning in, couldn't quicken for toffee. Shocking.

Andrew in Sweden 17 Oct 14 23:25
Off to Ascot at lunchtime and if Pallasator and Lord Gordon Byron both win, the company can forget me returning to work on Tuesday I could have had a major hangover today, nevertheless, a good day at Ascot even though it was a difficult card, made worse by the ground. When Pallasator took the lead in the first I thought he had it, but a 3rd at 8/1 and a 5/1 winner helped made it a small profitable day. How LGB got through an eye of a needle gap was almost unbelievable. Some of the fillies on show were amazing and i'm not talking about the ones on grass, I wish I was 25 again. ![]() Well done team and very well done to FCH, all in on LGB that puts us in a good position. Good luck to all in the next round. |

Well done FCH , great winner on a difficult day. Hopefully we can hold onto the lead this time around.

3.45 Naas - Investmentsuccess WIN
One or two interesting runners today, none more so than this horse. Pity he isn't still with Mags Mullins but obviously the chequebook did the talking. If he jumps and is given anything like a sensible ride I will be disappointed if he doesn't win easily. The second favourite is off the 'Minella' production line but all being well he would need to be very good to trouble the favourite. |
