Hi George I know there was a query due to the rule 4 but I think mysexyscousebirdkylietait, Duke & my scores are slightly out, looks like Sexy has had 5 points added while Duke has not had any points added & my own score has only gone up three, noticed you queried it on the racing thread but your leaderboard thread is timed after that so I thought I would point it out, apologies if I am being presumptuous.

12 meetings

240 points for winning ... I can still do it in theory

Report TheNorfolkMafia • March 23, 2014 12:12 PM GMT

hearts1874, is f*cked though!

Report GEORGE.B • March 23, 2014 2:47 PM GMT

Apologies pumphol, after querying the score I've then gone and written down the wrong set of scores. If that wasn't bad enough, I've somehow then managed to lose the Duke's 5 points in the monthly table.

It's no good, I'm gonna have to take more water with it!

Yourself, duke and HC should have 4.33 pts each, ged 2 and 0.5 each for angeleyz and holyday.

I'll post the amended tables later when I'm back at my other computer which has the spreadsheet, and I'll double-check the 5 points hasn't gone into the wrong column

Report GEORGE.B • March 23, 2014 3:04 PM GMT

I've not had to look far to see where those 5 points have got to, given them to Daftracing (whose score had been amended previously). What can I say - you can't get the staff.

Just to reiterate, please do check your scores and shout out if you spot a mistake. I'm sure this is a rare occurrence, even if there have been 2 mistakes in 2 days

Report TheNorfolkMafia • March 23, 2014 3:51 PM GMT

Sort it out for f*ck's sake!

I'm not sure I know what you mean by 'ones older than available at the top of every page', Shane. Could you give an example? Soz if I'm coming across as a bit of thicko!

I've found those listed above by using the search facility on the new forum, but it seems anything before 2010 is tricky to find, unless someone has kept the links. I know a lot have gone forever.

It`s me not explaining myself George. When you click on say `Your Competitions` at the top is a list of page numbers, I think it goes back 180 odd pages to say early 2010.

I don`t think you can without a link.

Report GEORGE.B • March 23, 2014 8:49 PM GMT

You can click on the last page which takes you to November 09, otherwise I think you tediously have to go back 2 pages at a time to find something inbetween.

Week 20, Friday - Saturday

haltymags is the top scorer since the last update, winning 25 points courtesy of two top 4 finishes, and is now up to 5th overall.
Ken O'sback took the Wolverhampton comp with a big score on Friday, to take his tally for the day to 24 having earlier finished in the top 10 at Lingers.
metro john and mackies-fc shared the spoils at Lingfield, and both are bang in contention for an outright top 10 spot at the very least.
Dukeofpuke has been in good form recently and gained a well deserved win at Kempton today.
Billposter becomes the 4th comper to reach 400 points, and as points theorectically should be easier to pick up with the number of compers taking part having falllen, he's given himself a decent chance of retaining his crown if his tremendous run of form continues.

2013/14 AW Competition - Monthly Winners

The comp didn't start until the 11th of Novemeber and there were 40 / 50-odd taking part to start with, so a tremendous effort from angeleyz to just miss the century that month.
Pumphol has obviously been in excellent form throughout and took the December comp.
Bigger winning scores in the New Year as field sizes have dropped to around 35 - 40, but still fabulous efforts from STATSMAN, Daftracing and Billposter to rattle up some tasty winning scores.

Not a bad day either for mastiffs who made the top 10 at all 3 meetings, including a dead-heat for first place at Southwell with stridingedge. Mastiffs collected 30.5 points in total, while stridingedge consolidated his chance of securing an outright top 10 spot.

Week 22, Thursday

A dead-heat in controversial circumstances

at Kempton with Shanelee1966, shall we say, making the inspired decision to copy china castle's selections.
I would ask compers not to copy the selections of others even when it's done out of respect or whatever harmless good intention, because in this example, it has cost CC 2.5 points and a podium position, at this point with 4 meetings remaining.
As it happens this season we're 'only' playing for pride and goodwill, but we could have been playing for prize money as we were last season.

Shane, just noticed that you had napped Time Sqaure the previous night on the AW Comp naps thread, so we can rest assured that you did earn the bulk of your points yourself

Report Shanelee1966 • April 11, 2014 12:36 PM BST

I did George

I was open about it because of time constraints, I felt I was too late as it was without looking at every race and then posting.

Report china castle • April 11, 2014 2:11 PM BST

George it's just a bit of fun so it doesn't bother me one bit.

Just make sure it doesn't happen again though as I'll have to get my legal team involved

I didn`t actually copy yours china, well not consciously.

I was in a mega rush and flustered because the 30 mins I`d spent the previous night selecting at Kempton had been wasted, I was certain I pressed the reply button. Anyway, as I came back on just before racing, mainly to re-fresh my memory to what I`d selected as the results came in. I realised that there was no post from me. Right I though, maybe I`ll still be too late but I`ll copy & paste some one else's selections. I scrolled up and saw Time Square (nap) ahh I thought, that was my nap as George will confirm in the other AW comp on here( posted the night before) I also noticed 2 more horses which after seeing their names reminded me that I`d selected them. Right i thought, these are almost the same as mine, i`ll copy them. They could have been anyone`s ( well apart from salmon)

Report china castle • April 11, 2014 2:26 PM BST

Shane you probably would have won outright as you did nap Time Square in the a/w comp , so you would have only needed 14 more points.

You might have gained me 2.5 points

Report Shanelee1966 • April 11, 2014 2:28 PM BST

Who knows

It`s happened before, posts disappearing. Maybe i need to stay on the page and double check before whizzing off onto another tab.

Exceptionally well done Pumphol, top tipping over the course of the full season. Really thought that 460 (which I obviously failed to get) would be enough to win but wouldn't even get into the top four so fairly phenomenal all round.
Many thanks to all involved in the organisation of the relentlessness particularly George for the updates and Stridingedge for the incredible shifts he has put in providing the daily scores.
Hope to catch up with you all next November - have a good summer

2013/14 AW Competition Top 10

Position	Name	Final Score
Champion	pumphol	552.08
Runner-up	china castle	490.33
3rd	STATSMAN	476.08
4th	angeleyz	469.66
5th	haltymags	445.58
6th	mysexyscousebirdkylietait	444.06
7th	mackies-fc	440.33
8th	stridingedge	434.25
9th	Grippers-dad	433.08
10th	Billposter	425

pumphol
- Having finished an encouraging 7th in last season's comp, pumphol came on significantly for the experience to run out a decisive winner in the end, the only comper to score over 500 points.

china castle
- Another strong performance from the naps champ and dual averages champion, in the top 10 for most of the way and coming through to take the runner-up spot, failing by only 10 to reach 500 points for the season.

STATSMAN
- A second podium finish for STATSMAN, having finished 3rd in the 2010-11 comp. It looked at one point when he closed right up on pumphol and angeleyz, that it could be his year. Another excellent effort to take the bronze medal for the second time.

angeleyz
- Her finishing position arguably doesn't do angeleyz justice, having won the November comp, then led or disputed the lead for much of competition when the fields were at their biggest, but a sterling effort to challenge for the title.

haltymags
- Back-to-back Top 10 finishes for haltymags, who clearly is a consistent performer having just missed out on a top 10 spot 3 seasons back.

Mysexyscousebirdkylietait
- I think a comp PB for HC, who remained in good form through the final 3 weeks of the comp to secure a top 10 spot.

mackies-fc
- a highly satisfactory first full season for mackies to finish 7th, and no surprise if mackies throws down a serious challenge for the title next season.

stridingedge
- not only did stridingedge do an excellent job with the scoring, his form in the comp wasn't too shabby either! It looked as if a Top 10 spot might be slipping away from him at one point, but striding rallied well to force his way back into the placings.

Grippers-Dad
- Not a bad effort last season to score over 200 points, but GD improved on that hugely this time around to secure an outright Top 10 finish.

Billposter
- A good season for last season's champion, who despite taking time to find his form, loomed up ominously in March after some heavy scoring. Alas, it wasn't to be, but it just goes to show what a difficult competition this will prove to be to record back-to-back championships.
