Good morning Humbugs.
We managed a reasonable score but unfortunately a lot of teams did better so we only finished 6th  That was enough to get us from 8th to joint 7th  Hmmmm. As you can see if you can be bothered to read the exchange above there has effectively been a change in the rules,which I apologise for not picking up on. My personal opinion is that it unnecessarily complicates matters but having slept on it I have decided not to take it any further.I will leave it up to individual team members as to whether or not they want to take advantage of it where appropriate. Basically if you pick one that is running after the 4.00PM cut-off on Sat you can nominate a reserve in the same race or another which comes into play if your original selection is a non-runner. |

On top of that there are only two weeks to go and I am about to abandon ship. I am going away on Sat and will not return for 8 days. I can of course put up a selection this week,but I won't be around on Sat to organise wildcards never mind reserves. I will miss the whole of the following/last week so you will have to use a wildcard for me. We could really do with a volunteer acting Captain from Sat onwards ???????????

errr... well if no-one else steps forward I don't mind doing it.
What's involved, is it just nagging fellow humbugs and abusing other team captains? Given my recent performance I think it's best if the wildcards are left to others though  Have a lovely holiday SS. |

It was going to be first come first served the dealer.
In the past I've asked Lampus to do it but I thought I'd see if anybody else fancied it/was prepared to take it on. As you say we can't really do any worse. It's been a disappointing year after 3 in the top two. |

Incidentally I am aware that it is July but with only two weeks to go I think we can manage with this one,which as it happens has stuff just above about the rule-change ( ud would say it is a difference in interpretation and as I said I'm not arguing )and the captaincy.

petemac you wil invariably find beneath you in the Naps Tables He and the other rapscallion DeSSie are both members of the e/w thieves. They are one of 3 or 4 teams with us who show signs of life on their threads. Their captain stewpot is an officer and a gentleman but obviously has had to press-gang a team which inevitably contains a couple of guttersnipes. |
