McCoy is getting some stick on the HR forum, and although he didn't exactly throw the kitchen sink at the horse, it looked like the horse didn't find much off the snaff, imo, and the stronger stayer in that ground, got back up.

Just shows you how pathetic the NAPS comp has come when 9 old gits in the Premier Div all select Snake Eyes.
Just deserts. |

In their defence Trusty . . .
Actually I can't think of one. |

I've not been following the jumps at all, and if I hadn't been faced with having to pull off another 'Harry Houdini' act, I might have been tempted just to let my instruction stand raher than look at something which is starting to look a bit 'alien' to me.
Not that I'm one to make excuses, and will just to face up to being relegated - AGAIN! Trusty, the 'status quo' has now been discussed twice recently, and the 'brains trust' have decided odds-on selctions are permitted. Each to their own, that was the FINAL decision. |

I don't follow the sand shyte either George but sometimes have no choice but to pick some beast running. But for 10 tipsters in the top division to pick a 1/5 on shot just shows you that there is no sporting value left in the comp if most of the time it is going to be defensive picks.

Trusty, I can't argue with that, but after having an open discussion about it (twice), the decision was made that there will be NO changes to the rules. So we have to 'respect' that decision and select how we see fit, and let others select how they want to.
On the 'plus' side, at least days like today allow you to indulge in a spot of Schadenfreude and pee taking! Fwiw, I would have been selecting at odds-against (as my predicament demands!) had Southwell been on, as it was a tactical selection which I hoped wouldn't cost me any more ground in the relegation dog-fight backfired, and now I have to face the consequences! Hopefully I'll be back before Christmas next year! |

I hold my hand up to being a sad old git
today ,My defence along with George B . I have not studied a N/H race for quite a while so i took the route of losing the least positions as possible I think ive been in this comp on and off for about 3-4 years ,in that time you can count my odds on selections on one hand ![]() |

Actually, fwiw, all I did today was effectively choose my preferred instruction for days when there's no Flat racing and that is -
The shortest price fav of the day (the last one if there is more than one at the same price) I don't have that instruction because if it isn't obvious, it would be time consuming for Shane to traipse through the meetings to see which one it was. Whatever, the issue of odds-on pokes being allowed has been raised recently, and even when given the option of handing a possible advantage to those selecting at odds-against by settling at BFSP, the ISP was opted for in a vote. The argument has been done and dusted (twice), odds-on pokes are allowed (and btw, I was one who voted for BFSP), so why people are still whingeing about odds-on favs being picked, is beyond me! |
