o/ Welcome back everybody, I've made it, you've made it - WE'VE ALL MADE IT
The first days result of MANL Season 3 kicks off tomorrow, but as there is obviously overnight betting, the competition pretty much starts today.
Rules There are two big differences that define us from the bog standard NAP competition, and several other rules to ensure our competition is both uncomplicated and fair 1) You are allowed to take a price for a horse, and the results are only settled as SP if you decide to NAP a horse after the MIDDAY DEADLINE. 2) You won't be penalised for not putting up a NAP every day. 3) Price taking can only be taken with the conventional bookmakers e.g. NO exchange based service such as betfair, bodog 4) I treat all bookmakers as Best Odds Guaranteed to avoid any complications 5) I settle all Rule 4's on the current price of the select horse at the time of withdrawal to make it easier to keep track of, this will be based on the LARGEST price of a single bookmaker at the time of withdrawal. 6) One whole season is the entire span of 12 months, e.g. October the 1st to September the 30th 7) You may wish to have a back up NAP - known commonly as a 'NB' - Your NB can only be posted after your NAP
Although you won't be penalised from not putting up a NAP, I would expect competitors to be at least posting 15 days minimum. Moreover, it is unsporting to stop your usual betting behaviour if at the top of the table just in order to win a month.
All price taking for your NAP has to be done BEFORE NOON ON THE DAY OF THE RACE.. We do this to minimize any advantage between people who are/aren't around to take a price in the morning. An example of this can be seen below..
Cheltenham 4.20 Kauto Star 7/1 PP NAP
COURSE-TIME-HORSENAME-PRICE-BOOKMAKER followed by NAP or NB.
PLEASE POST IT IN THE RIGHT ORDER, IT SAVES ME A LOT OF TIME!
If you aren't around to take a price in the morning, then simply put (TP) instead of the odds, and you will be given the best price as of 11am.. an example of this can be seen below..

A few of us like to give reasoning behind our selections, knowledge is power, don't be shy.
I'd urge anyone interested, to check out Regal One's last run over 19f at Stratford. Definitely looked the winner 2f from home, they were strung out like washing, but he and Bathcounty took each other on a long way out and although the winner was still the best horse in the race.. I've no doubt that RO was the second best horse in the race.
That was his first run for his new trainer David Bridgewater, and he's also dropping down in trip by 2f. From a handicapping perspective, a mark of 109 looks very fair for RO, as Pasture Bay who looked well beat, but ended up third, came 2nd off 110 at MR just yesterday. Hopefully with a bit of improvement RO will go close, but no denying Gud Day will be hard to beat if that last run wasn't a freak result, and he handles this boggy ground.

Some nice stats for Marmas scooper, but I'm taking him on with your danger.
Sir Mark has him entered up again in the same race Marmas is entered on Wednesday at Newcastle, and also the option of dropping back to 14F on the same day at Salisbury.
Lto they went a bit of a dawdle over Wolverhamptons 14F, he looked the first beaten as the injection of pace caught him out on the turn into the straight, but the further they went the better he looked. He still looked very green in the closing stages, and he certainly looks like one of those types that Prescott rattles up a sequence with. Big Chance Imo, could go off a very short fav, depending on what they think they have in hand / to beat. Hoping for a winning start to this campaign!!! GL all
