No question who today's napping hero is. pumphol. honed in on Azrag,  which sounds vaguely rude to me, to  land a lovely 14/1 winner. So, where once he languished with the great unwon in the division depths, he now stands 17 places taller and on the edge of promotional glory in eighth place. Huge well done for that one pumph!

A very reasonable crop of winners today, with a shining example set yet again by our leader, N-east correspondent, who inches nearer the £30 level with the 3/1 Just Lille,  his second straight winner. Beginner's luck NEC? ... pull the other one, it's got blinkers on! It also means an ever-widening gap to his nearest challengers, who all had empty pockets by close of play.

MOB was another fine winner with the 15/2 Medam  providing a five-spot boost while zipper found Invigilator  at 9/2 to rise 7 places. Take the wife and nurse out to celebrate, zip! BillyWhizzle has been languishing for far too long in the darkness, suffering with a string and 2nds and 3rds, but he was on Invigilator too and  leapt 10 places.

Imperial Legend,  which ended the current Lay Comp race when it came home at 4/1, provided a handy return for dukeofpuke, up four places, and Red Hand, up five. And finally, pension fund has been knocking in the winners pretty regularly, but not all have made much of an impression on the table and today's was another odds-on win that saw pf lose a place. Still in a threatening position though.
