TOP 10 Summary
raspberrybottom - last month's Div3 champion; he's been at No.1 all month apart from 2 days when he slipped down to 2nd. Every chance of being Div2 champion for August but even if he's caught, I'd say he looks reasonably secure for getting back to Div1.
BinnocularsNotNeeded - a 50% strike rate has kept him on the podium for all bar 7 days this month. Not 100% safe for promotion yet, but looking good if he can maintain position.
Ashmal - 56.5% strike rate which includes 7 winners out of the last 8. Lowest position this month is 13th. By no means guaranteed promotion yet, but has an excellent chance.
Earth To Mickey - a steady month inspite of missing 4 days recently. Never out of the top half of the table, but now relying on Instructions to the business for him.
hoof hearted - he's been in the Top 5 for nearly 2 weeks now. Currently hanging on precariously to 5th place by less than £1. Needs to find some more winners in the last few days.
CreamyWhiskers - this is his 3rd month in Div2. Finished 16th in June, and narrowly escaped relegation in July, finishing 24th. Currently in 6th with only 6 winners so far, he now has an excellent chance of escaping to Div 1.
stealthgun - now in his 13th month in Div2, and still following his usual MO of maintaining position with the shortest prices he can find, and then striking like a deadly cobra in the final days with some bigger prices. The first bit works magnificently. It's the deadly cobra bit which needs some fine tuning.
mr d ferret - 6 winners and 4 days on the podium in 5th place this month. Nicely placed in 8th with less than £2 to make up to get back in the promotion zone.

The lower end contains a few former Premier and Div 1 players, so they're not as hopeless as this month's form figures suggest. Far from it. All capable of producing spectacular results, but as we all know and we've all experienced, bad months can happen all too frustratingly easily.
I always find myself rooting for the underdogs in the drop-zone as I never want to lose anyone to Div 3. And I'm always delighted for anyone when they manage to escape. My delight is short-lived of course as it means that someone else is now in trouble and I quickly switch allegiance. So it's a no-win situation for me. When the dust has settled on the final day, five will definitely be going.
I'm not going to write individual summaries for each of the nine because they'd basically all say the same thing. Apart from mini me and travellingman who each spent one day in 7th place, none of the nine has been inside the Top 10 this month. Most haven't even troubled the Top 15.
Those whose totals are still in single figures actually still have an excellent chance of promotion if they can find a couple of mid-priced winners. And I'm definitely not writing off any of the others yet. We've seen players go from last to first before so anything is possible with the wind in the right direction.
