Ryanwe
can I ask a few questions if its not intrusive you are coming upto your annual 'treat' and in stunning form As a matter of interest do you think the two are connected ? Is it deliberate or a matter of course ? ie you know you want to make the most of your Festival and you need to have your finger on the pulse so do you put in more effort/focus or is it just an accumulation of the last 4 months work Therefore is the side effect that the weeks running upto it you are 'in the groove' If Cheltenham scores 100/100 what score do you give Aintree, Punchestown anybody else with views more than welcome to comment |
|
By:
Is it just Me
------------- When you are in form your selections just jump off the page on your first glance through the card when you are struggling you find yourself mining trying to dig out a winner agree or disagree lads, or is it just an illusion Just reviewing if I should change my approaches over the next 12 months all input welcome so one idea staking plan based on last 14 days performance just like 'trainers performance' ![]() ![]() |

btw
when does it log you out of this forum sometimes I come on & it has me logged on & I havent been on for 7 hours + I have tried logging out & im still in dont understand ![]() ![]() |

Must agree with you Stewpot
I liken it to snooker, which i played to a reasonable standard When i was playing well the pockets were the size of buckets. Had two picked out in the 6.00 Wol They were 10s and 12s with 365 last night you know my story with them Came home from work to find out a certain Mr Taylor napped one You can guess the rest ![]() |
|
By:
Ask me as many questions as you want, I love talking about myself
![]() It does seem true that everyone has their moments of form, however, luck can definitely play a role as to how many winners/losers you get at each part. It's hard to judge people by form though because all punters go for different priced selections. Some bloke might of had 6 odds on winners from 10 selections, yet is still losing compared to the other bloke who had a single 10/1 winner from 10 selections. Hugh Taylor actually done a really good piece on this on Wednesday's form factor program. As for Cheltenham it's always something I've been gearing towards since the start of the season. I guess all the handicaps are only something you can really get stuck in to now, and in the next few days, after the weights have been released. Aintree is only 2nd to Chelt for me, where as there are probably other meetings during the year I'd rather watch than Punchestown. |
|
By:
I appear to like talking to myself (at times)
![]() thanks Ryanwe comment to follow |

By:
It's OK to call me Ryan lol.
The 'We' is my Surname. |
|
By:
What I was getting at is do any of you guys know when you are really in touch with form
There is a phase when it all appears to fall into place do you really up your stakes because not only is your horse worth a 3 pt nap but you know your own form means its worth a 4pt nap ie should your stake reflect your horses chance plus your form |
|
By:
I don't change my staking, it's consistent throughout, and I think that's how everyone should bet.. providing they fancy each horse the same.
I know what you're saying though, when you think/appear to be in form, it does seem easier to pick these things / think straight. However, I think people's success is more dependent on how they deal with the losing runs / bad luck. |
|
By:
Agreed minimising losses maximising profits
simple ........ ![]() For me upto Ascot 5% stake upto Goodwood 10% upto York 15% upto Leger back to 10% because I know I am better at certain times of the season therefore some Maximise & hence minimise approach |
|
By:
Its OK for the casual backer but not so easy for the Pro
who has to eat ![]() ![]() ![]() |
|
By:
When you say up to 15% stake.. what does that mean exactly? 15% of what?
|
|
By:
My bank say starting with £200
|
|
By:
So.. does that mean you could have 7 losers in a row and your entire bank would be wiped out?
|
|
By:
No because your stke reduces as your bank reduces
eg 15% of £100 is only £15 of £50 is only £7.50 |
|
By:
Haha I guess that is true.
|
|
By:
ie the poorer the tipster you are the less you have on
