Stew, it was pretty amazing.  Had no bet in race as wanted to enjoy just watching it but have never heard the place erupt like that.
Went with a friend who has just a passing interest in racing and even he was touched by the day.
The applause as Kauto walked around the paddock just shows what some of these old warriors mean to people.  It was 10 deep

I've gone for Hierarch in the 505. Simcock looks like he might be getting a tune out of this and although may not stand a lot of racing it comes here quite fresh off the back of a good run. Trip looks ideal and very well in if form restored. Won off 69 last year and here today off 57 and claiming 5. Here's hoping
