guys - i've started a new thread to try and avoid any issue with the old one being under my alter ego...... and to try and catch the man and book's attention. Cracking first week in a very high scoring week with an excellent first timer from GEORGE.B and the usual winner from RA (how does he do it?).

Hopefully Hoss will be out of hospital soon and back enjoying the comps ... even if not a Pin anymore ... although he will always be welcome back here.

Just a quick update, yes BB I'm out of hosp and feeling immeasurably better thanks, after a small operation, as to the possibility of a return to Pins, I still feel I need a break, but if an opening appears at some future point, I may reapply,go Pins.

Well done Ra Nova with your winner yesterday.

I'm going to stick with Victoire De Lyphar who did me a good turn when he won at York (both financially and in the naps comp!).
Obvious concerns about him hitting a flat spot and finding this sharp enough (perhaps not surprising given he's out of a Shirley Heights mare!) against this class of opposition - but hopefully he's still progressive and he can keep tabs with them.

Not particularly strong on anything today though I did consider Mister Hughie (3.40, Newb), just in case they start playing dodgems up the stands' rail and he gets a clear run down the outer from his low draw.

Others on my shortlist were Lowther (Silver Cup) given he was second in the race last year and had a pipe-opener at Donny last week.

Also The Paddyman (2.30 Newbury), who looks overpriced given Fallon is taking over from Robinson, and on the figures, he has a good chance of second at least.

Good luck with your picks, Pins.

FCH, struggling here to find one. Of the races left we can select in, I was looking at Red River Boy EW in the 5.45 @ Wolver.Stable had a decent winner with Who's Shirl t'other day, the 7lb apprentice has ridden a couple of winners recently, and RRB's not badly drawn in 5, and he should have a 'hare' to chase in Annia Galeria.

What do you think?

Sorry George, just posted Pavement Games in the same race before we ran out of time as it seems to be in form.

ttt

a quiet week. A pub pall of mine phoned from holiday in Spain yesterday and asked me put a £20 double on more than 6 goals in both the Chelsea and Man Utd games last night.
Of course I gave him somethin terrible for such mug betting - but I did at least put the bet on, so I'm not having to fork out a grand of me own money.

I'm going to go for I'm A Dreamer (each-way, 1.55 Ascot).
Hopefully the going stick is accurate and bang up the middle is the place to be. I'm encouraged that they have bothered to secure Johnny Murtagh for the ride.
There are already 4 out, but still 4 places at the moment.

I'd fear Sajjhaa because she looks the part and was massively impressive at Bath LTO, but at the prices...

I did consider taking Quannah Parker in the 4.55 Haydock at a bit of a price. The angles in being the stable form, drop in the ratings and the chance to race with some dig in the ground for the first time this season - but given he has shown next to nowt this season, it was too much of a leap of faith!

Good luck with your picks.

FCH, I'm tempted by Atlantic Tiger in the 5.25 @ Ascot, being an uexposed 3YO against his elders.

I think he has been crying out for a step up in trip. The concern I've have is that he looks a gross horse and that he'd need it after 49 days off, having blown out last time.
He's 11-2 with the books, so I guess we could take it each-way.

As I mentioned above, Quannah Parky was the 'chancey' one I was considering at a bit of a price.

What do you think, or do you have something in mind yourself?

George I would go with either of yours.

I don't get much time to study the form and tend to stick to the scoop 6 races on a Saturday.

Good luck with whichever you choose.
