Last night I placed 3 bets on THE LOBSTER CATCHER's race......and had concluded of the 3 TLC was the one that had best chance of 3.( ONLY BETS PLACED EARLY)
Of course ....I then looked at 2 other races in morning and zeroed in on CLUB TAHITI race......and opted for the shorter odds one of 2. As a rule I used to go for the HIGHER ODDS of 2......but when you get a bad run of no naps winning for ages there is a tendency to nap short odds ones. All to do with "confidence". Sorry "guys" for chickening out selecting that one for team!!!!![:x] From now til end of year will be going for HIGH ODDS ones in nap and team competitions....as gotta catch Little Bobby et all before end of year ![]() ![]() GL with selections to come . |

Sorry I have been a bit distant lately, but I have alot of problems at the moment and to make things even worse my father suffered a major stroke last Tuesday and is now in the new QE, he is 87 yrs old and although he seems mentally to beaware of what`s happened there appears to be no moment to his left hand side and he is eating and drinking very little. As some of you will be aware I lost my mother on the run in to Xmas 3 years ago so it is not best time of year for me with the likehood of it happening again.

DeSSie, I don't know and wouldn't know if he is on here under a different name.
What made you think of him? |
|
By:
Was thinking of old team mates in the comp
|
|
By:
Didn't he used to help run the naps or was it the lay-a-day, my memory fails me?

Sad news PRODELLBOY. My father has been having bouts of illness the last few weeks ....but not as serious as your dad. He is also 87....and normally is "active" ...so seeing him aging rapidly when he took ill brought home just how old he is. Luckily he seems to be recovered and .....though moving more slowly...he still is able to go about normal day to day activities. Mum , at 88 , has problems healthwise ...but dad has managed to cope SO FAR.
Puts racing into perspective...... Hope your dad regains powers soon PDB....best wishes. |

Cheers UD......I narrowed it down to 2 initially ....and for once napped the right one of 2....
For once I had a newspaper to check out races yesterday ....normally I just use inter-net ( SL etc ).....and it is "easier" to appraise a race quickly with the old-fashioned newspaper, than with inter-bet ...though if you want to go a bit more deeply into horse's background you can't beat inter-net........though often it is a case of going too deeply into race and it then all becomes a blur! ![]() I think from tomorrow will walk down to shop and get a newspaper.....need exercise anyway!!! GL with bets guys. |

I was torn between 2 horses AGAIN for nap......and overnight one of them has shortened a bit ( I got 8.2...and currently 6.2 and fav.....) so opted for that one- Sambelucky in 1.40. Appears to have a reasonable chance of winning ....so probably either won't place ....or it wins.....so never did it EW. The other one is Eyre Square in 3.25.....Hope I've plumped for right one of 2. GL with bets. |
|
By:
Yet another poor...poor run by my "guess"......the weight today made a huge difference ....and 1st and 2nd were in bottom part of field....DRATTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT.
Sorry "guys" ......relying on rest of selections as usual .....GL again FTG with today's shot! |
|
By:
NOPe ..once again the other one wins

Best wishes for your Dad, PB.
Gone with Prince Basc at Wetherby for Ferdy Murphy, also fancy Great Endeavour in big one at Chelt. Off on a fool's errand to Manchester to see Blues, could be difficult. How quickly things change, now facing relegation from premier, bloody hopeless tipping! cheers One Shot |
|
By:
Good luck all today. have gone with Great Endeavour though the good form of N. Henderson may give long run an edge, hopefully the weight concession will swing it back my way.
