Time to gather up the crew, the fun begins soon :) This year we are going back to all teams in one, the basic format/rules are the same but I'll highlight the differences from last year. Duplicate selections will be allowed during the week up until 2pm on Saturdays. No duplicates within teams at any time though. The scoring will be as follows: For each monthly round, weekly winners get 9pts, runners-up 7pts, down to 1pt for 8th spot. Bonus points will now be earned on a weekly basis, so as the average weekly score per team was about 65pts when we were last all in one 2 yrs ago, teams will be able to earn 1 bonus point for each 66pts scored in any one week. For example a team scores 210pts in a week, they will receive 3 bonus points for scoring over 198 (3 x 66). For the yearly comp, monthly winners will get 8pts, runners-up 7pts, down to 1pt for 8th spot, there will be a 8pt bonus at the end of the year for the team with best profit. There will be a Champions League mini tournament at the end of the year, after the league finishes on November 27th, lasting two or three weeks (format yet to be finalised) and open to any team that completes 4 top 4 finishes in the 8 monthly rounds. Dates for this years comp: 31 Jan - 27 Feb - Month 1 28 Feb - 27 Mar - Month 2 28 Mar - 3 Apr- KO Cup Quarter Finals 4 Apr - 1 May - Month 3 2 May - 29 May - Month 4 30 May - 5 Jun - KO Cup Semi Finals 6 Jun - 3 Jul - Month 5 4 Jul - 10 Jul - KO Cup Final Summer Break 5 Sep - 2 Oct - Month 6 3 Oct - 30 Oct - Month 7 31 Oct - 27 Nov - Month 8 28 Nov - 18 Dec - Mini Champions League (TBC) |

Thanks DFC and jimnast, I am quite sure ud, One Shot and lester are available, so will give Cath till the Friday next week, then suggest we ask Feed The Goat if he is interested in re-joining the team.

Thanks ud, just yourself and One Shot to find a winner or two before the end of the week. Come on you can do it, you just need a bit of luck. I only got back what I lost on Gullible Gordon again. I will end up following that horse over a cliff, wished I had not been so impressed with his first run. To me the horse is over jumping now and coming down to steeply, think it probably injured itself somewhere.

Think luck has run out! 2 seconds with Ruby thinking he was on Arazi and then when front runs falls at the last and Fanning winning the race and then losing it in a matter of strides yesterday. Better selections in Feb hopefully.

I have in mind to try and pick early week but have been very busy. Can't see anything for tomorrow and the uncertainty about abandonments doesn't help as you don't want to waste time studying form.

Don`t blame you ud the cards are somewhat uninspiring without studying to find they are abandoned the next day, went on a betting exchange course in Warrington today, as the company I work for are in a bit of trouble, severe cash flow problem and are more likely to go bump than survive imo. So I thought I would get some training in lol. The only trouble with these things is you play safe with minor libilities to win small amounts in lot`s of races or you have a very large bank to do the same but obviously your small amonts will then become reasonable. I myself like to study a race lay or a back a particular horse in a race and play in running to achieve the total in one race. Found some useful tools available to me which I haven`t been using and should be though so not a wasted day.

As I mentioned before I'm not even going to try to make serious money from the horses, I get the impression you would need to trade and that's not for me, but I am trialing a "system" in footy and it's been a disaster for the first half of the season lol, however it's improved lately and well season by season I'm gaining good experience. I think I can make it work to a profit but making a living even a modest one is a whole other ball game. |

Plumped for one of Jarvis's in a maiden at Lingfield, not been a great weeks racing and this looks a two horse race, with MJ's making the running and Monaco Dream swooping by it in the straight. Leave the rest of the team to sift through Saturday's cards,won't be a great price but already £1,000 traded on it. Good luck for the week-end............. :)
