Thanks figgy and aa.  Interesting, clearly that doesn't look great for 1D.  JLS also struggled  in the early rounds, then they had the benefit of a bottom 2 place giving them a good relaunch for the last 3 weeks when their vote took off.  Here are JLS's votes

wk 1 5.03%
wk 2 9.21%
wk 3 10.81%
wk 4 17.00%
wk 5 13.26%
wk 6 9.91%
wk 7 11.75%
wk 8 24.34%
wk 9 35.03%
final 30.65% and 41.66%

Don't forget that groups always start poorly as it takes the audience a while to get to know the individual members, and as JLS have shown support can grow as the contest goes on.  Perhaps their poor polling is also due to the lack of a great performance.  Maybe 'Torn' or something with Robbie will change that.  I'm not ramping btw, my book is heavily skewed in favour of Matt, just felt someone should be putting the case for 1D.

6pm-7pm: This Is JLS

Lots of teens watching at prime tea time. They would most certainly continue to watch the main show and vote for OD.

Not up to speed today but perhaps of note is a full front page story in the Irish Sun - dunno if this is in the UK version...
Matt Romps it on SeX Factor. Development of a story which goes along the lines of Matt nailing everything that isn't tied down.

Star and Indo have a front page pic and story of Mary Byrne and how she has withdrawn from X Factor this week and remains in Dublin because of ill-health

Can someone tell me when the winners song gets sung, is it early in the competition, what I mean does it have time to influence votes or maybe sung near the finish
By:

When: 10 Dec 10 21:47
yep interesting question stroodle.

normally sang right at end for a big final vote push.

HOWEVER!

if all 4 acts are releasing a their "winners song" presumably cowell will want them all to sing them on the show, which might suggest they sing them tomorrow.  strange one, but i could see them doing it on the first show.

Yes thats what I was thinking myself, with the four acts only there Saturday. On an earlier post I read Rebecca was sing a duffy song which I thought was a good one, but it wasnt the one I originally thought it was. I have just listened to it for the first time and its a belter. I can see Rebecca smashing this one, its unusual to like a song straight of the bat first time hearing it, it could be that duffy has that uniqueness to her voice which sucks you in. This is looking good for Rebecca in my opinion.
By:
GymTanLaundry
When: 10 Dec 10 22:01
yep, the duffy song is almost like a "winners song" - the title itself "distant dreamer" is perfect.

matt's biffy clyro song is a strange choice for an x factor coronation.

Cowell wants Rebecca thats why the song choice, cant understand why Ive never heard this song before its a classic. Is the song quite recent

Along the lines of Be My Baby

I would say that Distant Dreamer is a bit boring - its a ballad and Rebcceca will be standing very very still.  I watched Duffy doing it live, starts well then its a bit dull. It is not one of Duffy's more popular songs, more "album filler".

Biffy is a great choice. Great song that he's played many times before as it was part of his acoustic repertoire. The kids like Biffy too and the kids don't like Cardle - so it appeals outside of his core/base support like Rhianna's young/urban concept does.

Looking at all the songs Rebecca has, also the duet with Christine this is looking very good for the class act to shine tomorrow. Ill stop ramping now, it should be a good show tomorrow.

do you not think that singing with rihanna while rebecca sings beautiful with christina, and singing biffy clyro, while rebecca does a nice safe duffy "x factor style" ballad, could help rebecca steal a good chunk of his fanbase?

I really liked "show me love" is she singing it? Has been played a lot down here on Kiss FM.

was about to post that squares.  VERY VERY odd.  no audition songs?

if cher sings that then cowell is just trying to launch her career after accepting 4th place.

some odd ones for matt too.

Charlie have to disagree totally with you there, thats one of the best songs ive heard in recent years. Again it could be that Duffy influence which sucks you in, but I was shocked when I first listened to it tonight.

stroodle. Whatever you think or I think, "candlestick ballads" will not get her the votes. She needs change. She's way behind. She's already proved she has an excellent recording voice singing ballads and its not good enough...

Did you see the F Factor this week? Go to 3 minutes 40 seconds;

Someone posted about Kiss FM in the other thread I listened and heard the track but it was the 90's original (which rebecca performed) are they actually playing herversion? Or is it just the 90's original that is getting spinned?

Just checked the other bootcamp one, not to sure about the beyonce one for her unless she is planning to do a little movement with this number, not so keen on the tune though.

Yes, I forgot she sang it at the audition.
It's not a bad choice for her.

I guess she'd do the beyonce song along these lines.

It's taken me a while to digest that set list from the Daily Mail.

If true, I think it blows the final wide open.  Not good for Matt, but much better for Rebecca and One Direction.

Of the winner's songs, Rebecca is the only one that complies with the traditional XF number - could this be significant?

I love Many of Horror myself and I'm sure Matt will do it justice - but whether it resonates with a wide enough audience remains to be seen.  As for Firework...  WTF?!  Surely this can't be right.

fll cheers thats a better version Rebecca will put her stamp on that one also, listening to that Corinne bailey rae one if she is the original artist for that, Rebecca sings it better I think. Again looking good for Rebecca tomorrow.

i think rebecca will need to do more of an original version of single ladies.

hate the song myself, but it's unexplicably rather popular, particularly with women.

Gents, for anyone interested and 1D backers, Robbie & TT were on the Late Late Show tonight. He did a solo of Feel, strangely with a backing band. Then an interview with him, Mark, Gary. Finally all TT did Open Up Your Heart.

He's in good shape IMO. As long as Cowell keeps the sherbet away from him, he'll smash tomorrow night!

Other guests Barry McGuigan & son. Then Gordon Brown. He was actually pretty good/impressive.

Never seen that version before FLL - if it's that one then....I dont know what to say. Not exactly a vote winner you would say, or a finals night song.

If its the original, then it's a mammoth gamble and based on her performances so far probably the most unsuitable style/song for her, but perhaps what she needs to overturn Matt.

Those can't be right, shooooorly?
