Matt's pal, who has given clues in the past, claims one of Matt's songs is from the film Casino. Loads of tracks in it, but as XF tends to stick to classics assume it could be (I Can't Get No) Satisfaction Gimme Shelter Go Your Own Way House of the Rising Sun or ballads Nights in White Satin, Without You. |

This weekend's X Factor will feature all the acts singing rock tracks.
Saturday's extended programme will include two performances from each of the seven remaining contestants. It has already been confirmed that Wagner Carrilho will be singing Radiohead's 'Creep', while Mary Byrne is lined up to sing U2's 'All I Want Is You'. Speaking on Matt Edmondson's F Factor blog, the contestants said that they were excited about the upcoming live show and admitted that they were pleased with the theme. "I actually like a bit of rock," said Cher Lloyd. "I like upbeat because I like to dance. I'm not a candle. I like to rock out." Meanwhile, Rebecca Ferguson hinted that she would be doing her first "upbeat" song of the series. The Rock Week theme was first used last year and featured eventual winner Joe McElderry performing Journey's 'Don't Stop Believing' for the first time. Other highlights included Lucie Jones tackling Guns N' Roses, Jamie Archer covering Primal Scream's 'Rocks' and Jedward singing 'We Will Rock You'. |

Mary - and Brass in Pocket, The Pretenders
great song but mary is going to murder it, can see mary crying off and ducking this |
By:
Some real rubbish in that list. Matt's probably the worst of the lot but Use Somebody not much better.
By:
wonder if Lou is happy with matts selection.
By:
1D look to have the best of it.

I agree decent song when I just listened to it, more modern to the usual. 1/4 sarurday night
By:
I'm probably biased because I think the Kings of leon are a load of mid american tripe.
Alex Lambert did a great version before AI. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9PAio-nZnH4 Most covers are even worse than the dire orignal |
By:
I would assume she will do the pixie lott version
Just listened to it and im not keen |
By:
Me too A1.
It's horrible. |
By:
Agree not to happy that version back out to 4/1
By:
the U2 tracks are total gash
By:
Let's hope the spoiler is wrong.
Lots of slowed down versions on youtube by female singers and they're all terrible. |
By:
The real clue to the pixie lott version being gash is that is Pixie Lott who would struggle to make judges houses in this.
usual pop world stuff, looks great, talents end there. |
By:
Pixie Lott did that Use Somebody cover on DOI - it was utter cr@p. She sounded like a dying goat.
By:
PL is bland at best, I still would though!

If Rebecca comes out saturday and sings that Pixie Lott version, has to be the heaviest held up winner in x factor history.
By:
The slowed down verion of the song should be good enough for Rebecca to show her vocal talents. If she can't sing it well, then I don't think it can be blamed on a poor song choice this week.

stroodle
Firstly I don't know what Matt's proposed song is so I can't comment but once again (as i said all along last week Matt's song 'Come Together' was an awful choice) I've just listened to Rebecca's supposed song choice and having never ever heard of it, played it on youtube. It's just an awful dirge of a song. I listened to the first two verses then waited for the big moment ............. and it went round again then that was it. You can defend her all you like but do you really honestly think that's a good song? Not for me sorry. |

get off of my thread hypocrite

Never heard it Lou? I thought you watched X Factor?
Lloyd Daniels' fella sang it in the auditions last year. |
By:
i think the pixie lott version will really suit her voice, but it is hardly the uptempo track we are hoping for
someone suggested ride on time as an option for her, wouldnt that be great... this is the week she shows if she has it or not, if she is average this week she is in real trouble... alone by heart is really interesting, could be v good |
By:
not that ride on time is rock, obviously
By:
disappointing when they uncovered the real singer though, ie. not the girl in the vid
By:
yeah right
not as bad as willy vanilli though |
