"or never brushed his teeth this morning, had his hat on slightly adrift.  What total b0ll0x."

Lou is right.

What he just typed there is total b0llox.

Nobody on the forum has ever said anything so puerile.  Lou just makes himself look even more of a fool by repeating such nonsense.

Back on topic.

Louis agrees with me. Cowell is scared that Mary will scupper his peado project.

Yes he did in what I thought was the biggest travesty on rality TV.  Like comparing Real Madrid to Colchester Utd ... and Colchester got the vote.  Shocking.  I did however, I absolutely swear that at such ridiculous odds of something like 1/6 I greened up beforehand.  Lucky I did.

FLL - i can't believe a thread that started out so promisingly (refreshingly so for this forum this year), has turned into one man's attention-seeking defence of his own rather sad, over-inflated ego.

either that, or hijacked by a fisherman with a huge trawler.

totally agree GTL ^^^

it started off as one of the best threads of the series, just like the old days and then descends into this farce.

Lou - give it a rest mate.
I have been a specials forumite for a good few years and I can assure you that the one thing that cheeses everyone off is bragging, particularly when the claim is that you never back a loser or always make a profit. It's boll ocks and you know it is.
The second thing that pis ses us off is the relentless ramping of one contestant/housemate etc. We know you think Matt will win, we know you think he is best singer and we know you think he is the favourite with the voting public. But it gets really boring when you turn every thread about another contestant into a thread about Matt and when you make every thread about you.
I'm sure you are good bloke and you may well be right about Matt. I'm also convinced you have a decent contribution to make to the debate that goes on here...but this is Five Leaves' thread and the best thread on X-Factor this year so my advice is respect that, respect other forumites (even if they have a different view to you) and show a bit of grace and humility.

To prove again I "never back a loser or always make a profit" is not what I'm saying.

I backed Wolves last week to win .......... LOST

I backed Katie to go this week ............ LOST

I backed Millwall to beat Norwich a couple of weeks back .... LOST

Why would I admit to these (and there's plenty more) but lie about my X Factor bets?

Lou you've fallen out with squares and figgy - two of the most tolerant and easy going people on this forum, and you've annoyed lg who is as nice a person as you will ever encounter on any forum.  Congratulations, no-one else in the history of betfair has come close to such a remarkable achievement.  Has it crossed your mind ever for one second that perhaps you are the problem and not the rest of the world?

Good reply Lou.
I'm not accusing you of lying, but of bragging.
Let other people say "Lou was right, well done" rather than you saying "I was right all along, told you so".
My experience of the people on here is that they are very generous of spirit to winners, particularly when they make a good, big odds call. It's a lot nicer to have someone else blow your trumpet. Trust me.
Best Regards

Bunny

i got along fine with Squares and Figgy and respect thbeir input of course I do.  However as soon as they started name calling, ribbing me etc then I've no need for that.  I then think to myself 'well I'll just ignore them then' (and with the blocking facility it's even easier) and I now as we speak have 13 names (layprofessional is two as we all know) that i 'block'.

I'll give you an instance bunny.  'Helmuthian' who to be fair I think talks a lot of sense on here mostly even ribbed me a couple of weeks ago and said I was making up the fact I'd just got back from the hospital and have a health concern about something.  Obviously I don't want to elaborate as I'm sure you'll appreciate but to goad me about that and say I'm lying isd a terrible, shocking and hurtful thing to say and shame on him.  Nice/Fair of him to say that? ............ no FACT?

I tell you how fair and honest the people on here are when you say "generous of spirit to winners, particularly when they make a good, big odds call".  I asked earlier for people to back me up when i sdid you all know I've clearly picked these winners for the past 4 years.  One came forward (bunnyman) and a couple begrudgingly said 'well i remember a couple of times" so rt of thing and the others ............. nothing.  Can't bare to admit it so you see if by some billion to one chance Matt does manage to win it let's see how many can be gracious and say 'well done Lou' ............... I won't hold my breath!

Lou,

With your pompous, ignorant and self important style of posts then of course no-one will congratulate you.

But more to the point why would you want them too?  This is a betting forum, its all about the money and helping each other by exchanging information.  Any info you have 'i have backed Matt/ Matt is the best singer/ rebecca never moves/ rebecca isnt as good as Matt' was delivered in your 1st post so why you have made 1000 more saying exactly the same thing in a different way.

Utter utter tool!

I remember the hospital exchange and I admit that isn't exactly my finest hour but it was anotheer 3 days before you decided to ignore me so it cant have been that upsetting!

I am going to make this my last contribution to this particular debate. However, I have to support HF. There is a world of difference between opinion such as 'One Direction will win' to the kind of thing that several forumites do such as Five Leaves with his Twitter stats and Grendel with his data about running orders. The 'opinion' adds scant value unless sound, original and perceptive arguments are given in support of those opinions, while what FLL and Grendel are doing contributes to our understanding.
We are all different and there is room on the forum for different sapproaches, but surely Lou you can appreciate that banging on about the person you think will win to the point of ad nauseum gets on other people's nerves.
That's it from me. I'm boring me now.

Lou speaks as if he is the only person on the forum, in fact the whole world, who has backed Matt.  Loads of us on here have backed him at various stages, we just don't go on about it all the time in such a self-congratulatory mode.

We also don't feel the need to worship him and defend him at every opportunity.

Bands/singers I've been a fan of over the years - I don't like every single/album they release, sometimes they might be a bit "off" live, sometimes they might come across as a right prat in the press/on the telly.

In betting, especially reality TV betting, it is important to understand that you don't have be a big fan of the contestant/s you have on your side - you just have to understand why they will be popular with the core voters.  Similarly, there are times when you realise contestant/s you are particularly keen on have very little chance of winning.

I am totally unaware of being anything other than reasonable with Lou.  It's easier being ignored by him but it is very disappointing that just about every single thread on here (especially interesting ones like this) all end up going the same way.

It is not all about Matt; it is not all about Lou.
By:
George Bailey

Squares chill, you (and many others) are letting Lou get to you and it really is impacting on the buzz on here.  My take on Lou is that he is looking at the biggest green of his career (and yours is much bigger than mine on Rebecca Lou; though size isn't everything)and that anyone who posts anything other than complete adoration of Matt threatens that green which makes Lou react to verbally shore it up to give himself reassurance that all is well.

"Opinion" "fact" etc etc; its a forum ffs.

Darn, I said to myself I wouldn't get involved but he's sucked me in like everyone else Cry

Furthermore, it is to an extent totally irrelevant whether someone has turned over a fiver or a grand, or not even bet at all (most of the voters certainly won't have)they still might have some interesting points to bring to the table

To answer that I have more time on here than most that's why you'll see my name on most of the threads more than others it's just through boredom really.  The reason I stick up for Matt is if someone's going to say for arguememnts sake' Matt can't win this he's got a girly voice' or 'Matt's doing himself no favours snogging one of the backing dancers'  I'll reply with 'what's wrong with that'?.

So tell me ............... what's wrong with that? Nothing .

Really good OP.

LOU, you can only wish that you have the perception that fll has on specials. I often disagree with him but there's no doubt he has a gift for reading these markets.

IMHO it so happens that your system on XF is effective, the 'best' singer (the one with the most generic appeal) will usually do well. It rarely works on other specials markets, fwiw. SYTYCD, PTOS, and SCD recently good examples of this. Reading between the lines and trying to foresee what the makers want to happen is a fundamental part of specials betting. Was Giggs really the 'sports personality of the year' last year?

Your problem is that you don't add value to any discussion, however you try to undermine other peoples' points and discussions. We are lucky enough to have an 'insider' post on here, who helped me and others make plenty of cash, but you are 'too blind' to see it, I mean he can't prove it can he?

Well done on drawing me in, tho [:p]

But if this 'insider' was to be trusted what good is it to me if he perhaps emails half a dozen of you only who have become sort of 'friends'?

Here's an instance ............... who's the 'insider' on here - what does he post under?
