Agreed. Most knowledgeable post of the evening on this forum. Cool

yes but the judges have a vote and can collectively get rid of who they like.

that's what happened.

why would anyone think that was dishonest at all?

cheers crisp.
Because cowell looked a worried man, as he gave a louis a desperate look to save cher, as if it went to deadlock cher was out, thats why.
Louis preferred paije all the way through as well. Sad

When Cowell only needs the use of one judge it's always Louis. Louis has often gone against what he believes in order to agree with Cowell. When Cowell needs 2 he instructs Cheryl, and sometimes instructs Danni too.

It's surprising (well maybe it's not given the laughable state of consumer protection in the UK) that X-Factor are allowed to maintin the pretence that the judges don't know who finished bottom of the public vote.

It's actually a significant thing - it effectively makes the difference between each week's elimination being based on the public vote or on who Simon Cowell wants to go (or stay).  As such it should be made clear that the judges know who finished bottom & the charade of pretending to "let the public decide" should not be permitted.

Given their history of being found guilty of outrageous vote-rigging in the past you'd think ITV might be a little more honest. Ho-hum.

Yes, poor old Louis, didn't want to choose between the 2! So why didn't he go to the public vote? As you say larrance, blatant cheating. The whole things a farce, but the publicity is priceless.
By:

Its only cheating if it says so in the 'rules' somewhere - where does it say in the 'rules' that they can't just decide who and how they give someone the boot each week?

Isn't deceiving the public tantamount to cheating the public? Don't you think that Paige would feel cheated if he knew that the public had voted to keep him in? I think that I once told you before that shrewd you are not. Rules are not always written, my rules are my morals and they are far more important and they wouldn't allow me to be like Louis Walsh and tell someone how much I supported them before throwing them to the wolves for what can only be personal gain. Not cheating? You don't know the meaning of the word!
By:
shrewdbury
When: 22 Nov 10 10:47
But it's clear from the outset that it isn't just the public vote, but the judges decision also - so how is that cheating?

the public vote doesnt come into it at this stage;derrrrr thats clear after sunday cos simon ordered louis to keep cher in

It is cheating in terms of Cowell adamantly denies knowing the vote results before the vote to save when he blatantly does know.

Also the fact that the public are made to believe that each judge makes an independant decision where as in fact they all do exactly what Cowell says.

Having said all that I don't want it to change because it actually makes it all much easier to predict.

How exactly? I would have said the public can see for themselves that it's all about the judges and their interactions, especially with Cowell - it's what makes the show what it is.

I disagree Stu, why does Louis sit there and ummmm and arrrr then?

He makes out he can't decide yet the shrewd (sic) ones amongst us know that the decision has already been made by Cowell.

How did he know there was a shock b2 last night if he doesn't know the vote in advance?

He certainly seems to be decieving the audience about whether he knows the results, fair enough on that aspect.

We all know that Cowell pulls all the strings but last night he made it so very obvious when he arched back on his chair and looked straight over at Louis just before the votes were made.

Cowell likes the other judges to have a go at him on the show as it makes him look good that he can take criticism but its all an act.

Yes did you see when Cheryl scratched her nose too and I caught Danni breathing when I played it backwards.  They're all signs you know!

Ok must have missed that.  I sat Louis straightening his tie though and Simon sipping his water so I should have realised something was amiss I suppose.  Do you think Simon had another producer on the grassy knole too maybe?

Lou,i actually mentioned it on a post last night before Louis voted. I know that just because Louis voted for Paige i not proof but the fact that several other people seemed to see it and have since mentioned it would suggest it did happen.

As you obviously missed it this is what i saw. Jut before the judges voted Cowell leaned back on his chair and looked straight ove at louis. As for the look he give him i would desibe it as the same look a parent might give their child jus before they are about to do someting bad. Louis definately got the message.

i would strongly suspect that wagner has never been in the bottom 3 as they keep doing single eliminations what do others think about that thought am i right or wrong.

Just guessing obviously but I would think he would be nearer the bottom of the votes than the top so scraping through I would guess.  Can't be much longer surely.

I can confirm, paddle, that there was a "look" which was clearly shown on TV.
By:

When: 22 Nov 10 13:55
yeah lou but my point is based on the thought that if he was ever in the bottom three they would jump at the chance of a double elimination to get rid of him and perhaps save them from problems later.
By:

When: 22 Nov 10 13:58
imo they haven't particularly wanted rid of him YET
