On planet Melv the sign of a successful song on here is the Million a week test. That’s a million you tube hits in 7 days.
Matt has done it twice. With “Mercy” matt is guaranted another Million week. Rebecca has not come close. With “Candle” She had the pimp slot, she’s had the iconic song (Could not sing the tune), she’s had the standing ovation, she’s had the panel begging everyone in Liverpool to vote for her; and its imposible to get the million from her hit numbers today. She needs at least 250k at this point.
I am not surprised that Matt is not doing that well this week I that “Yellow brick” was the suicide pill. But Matt has shown yet again he can nail anything. All he has to do is keep this up. When he gets a song he really like I think it’s a million every time.
I am at a disadvantage I cannot stand Rebecca. And I am a massive Billie holiday fan. I am probably mad but I think a lot of people are as daft as me and that makes Rebecca marmite. They have waited as long as they can for enough people to acquire the taste of Marmite before giving her the pimp. Nope the public still are not catching on numbers.
There is another difference between Matt and Rebecca and no-no has mentioned this. Matts versions actually sound both like the song he is singing and like Matt. Rebecca’s just sound like Rebecca. When I sing I always make the song my own…. but you wouldn’t want to hear it.
IMO when I come to the big votes and the losing fans have switched there allegiances I think Mum. Auntie and Granny public will go for the one who makes songs sound like they are supposed to sound.
I also think Rebecca is an acquired taste I do not think the Paige Mary, Cher and one direction fans will acquire that taste in time. She could even go out early when losers transfer their allegiance to Matt.

I know the is not a direct correaltion between youtube hits and who wins.
Cher should be fav if you go off youtube. I also know that Simon has a big effect on who wins. I also have never said Matt wins this this or that Rebecca cannot win this. I have not played my hand yet. Though I am on matt @ 10's. My reading of the runes incudes polls, whats said on here, and the market. I also read the youtube comments. But rebbecca had better knock out a million a week hits soon. Also if Matt does another couple of Million week on the next 4 weeks rebecca is in trouble. IMO. |

agreed- cant be bad to have onside but unreliable indicator. loving the betting thought process on here between either matt or rebecca winning,seems like one dimension have now entered that fray.

OK here is a thought experiment. In reality I take more into account than this. But here goes. If things stay as they are. Which is Matt with 2 more Million viewer songs and rebbecca still with none. Would you expect her price to be the same. Would you expect fav or a drift for her? |

I honestly don;t believe it would make any difference melv.
There's nothing out of the ordinary in Matt's figures or Rebbeca's I suspect Matt is doing worse than Vickers and Rebecca is doing better than Alexandra. It would only make a difference if the figures were out of the ordinary. Say 5 million for Matt and couple of thousand for Rebecca. |

Voters vote for who they think deserves to win, youtube views may give some indication but it’s not the same.
One thing to note is that people click on who they fancy a lot. Any youtube with a pretty girl on the still will get loads of views. I’ll bet that playboy model on IAC has many times the views of the others (if she actually has anything on youtube, I haven’t looked). Doesn’t mean she’s going to win IAC. |

OK put it this way. Given the pimping, the ramping the ovations, Surprised they wher not playing you'll never walk alone. Given that they where trying there make this her best shot. If Matt does a couple of million over the next 4 weeks I predict Matt 6/4 and Rebbeca at least 4. And that will suit me fine.

Yeah and most people think Gamu sang it better. Gamu 1.2 million hits out of limelight two weeks later. Rebbecca O.5 million hits after two weeks. Pimped to fk. Rebbecca doesn't do tunes because she can't. Billie Holliday could do tunes and put meaning in and tell a story and had more soul than she could control. Rebbecca just impersonates Billies little flourishes and slurrs but there is no content behind it. Rebbecca all fur coat . Yes, but her performances have been excellent. She could do with doing something different but Elton John didn't really allow it without doing a ridiculous song (like Paije/Katie). For someone who goes on and on about it being a singing competition, this criticism about a lack of movement is quite astonishing. 2. Are you being deliberately biased towards her because you've backed her? No. I actually don't think she'll win unless Cowell really throws his weight behind her (which he'll need to do soon), but she's fantastic, and may well shorten yet. However, nobody is being more biased about any of the acts than you are about Matt. 3. Are you being biased because she's a fellow Scouser? N/A - thank the lord. 4.
