She gets very little press, much like Joe and Alexandra.
She is a lovely young woman though. Cowell and the other judges keep telling us so. Much like Joe and Alexandra again. Although in Joe's case not a young woman obviously fwiw I can't remember one song that Joe sang, but can remember all of Rebecca's. I've listened to them a couple of dozen times each. ..oh and she moved more in teardrops than Marmite matt has throughout. Not that it matters. I agree with bunny. It's a ludicrous criticism It's like going to watch a ballet and complaing about the lack of singing. |

Utter rubbish! It's surely expected of her to move at least an inch. She's like a statue!
fwiw I can't remember one song that Rebecca sang, but can remember all of Matts. I've listened to them a couple of dozen times each. |

There's no accounting for taste Lou ;)
I repeast . She moved in teardrops. Matt han't moved at all |

Matt has moved ..... a little, he's played his guitar just to do SOMETHING different. The emotion in his song comes across .... look at last Saturday fabulous surely.
I think she's good but painfully shy. Nice girl yes but too nice almost. Do SOMETHING! |

Far too many saddos on this thread whose life seems to revolve around Matt v Rebecca!! [smiley:crazy]All thsi ramping for £2 quid bets, dear me.
FWIW Rebecca is different gravy from the rest, a Group 1 horse against selling platers. Matt can sing and is mostly entertaining but the momentum behind Rebecca is like a juggernaut now. In horse racing parlance, she wins on the snaff. |

You can't split them on DS -
Rebecca v Matt. Who Wins? You Decide. Rebecca 50% Matt 49% Created on Nov 8, 2010 Total Votes: 591 I'm not sure where the other 1% is though ![]() |
|
By:
You can split them here though. Matt has DOUBLE her vote. You must have missed that one Figgy and obviously not seen it. (wink)

GB, shirley an astute trader like you would trade out for a free bet at those odds and lie back with a pina colada for the rest of the series??? [;)]

Shirley might, but I can't be arsed to trade off M&R to give me a winner in the likes of Cher tbh

AS we're talking about just these two, is this a real tortoise and hare situation?
IMO, Matt acquired a lot of his fanbase before the live shows and during the early live shows. Will all of those fans stick with him through thick and thin (I'm sure some would still be defending him if he came out and did The Birdy Song) or will some of them slowly tire of him? Has he shown us most of what he has to give already or is there much better to come? Will he be able to up his game enough to pick up new fans? We don't know for sure but we can form our own opinions regards what is likely to occur. We only saw glimpses of Rebecca before the live shows. Some ordinary viewers might not really have been that aware of her before then. She started in early slots with understated songs flying under the radar a little. Then the better songs and good performances start kicking in. People start to notice her, she starts gaining her fanbase. Maybe people want to hear more of her. Perhaps we haven't seen all that she has to offer. Is she able to continue to improve and up her game more and more to increase her fanbase? Will the late slots she is due help her in this? |

Spot on with the evaluation, mate... Regarding Matt having more to offer - he could do a male song, take Danni's hand out of his a$$ and blow us all away ![]() |

Didn't you used to say her first few performances were poor? But I can imagine having her green does add a rich timbre and altogether different tonal quality to her voice. Joking aside this may be an example of Rebecca, like many good things, being somewhat of an acquired taste for many. Which may indicate increasing future support for her. |

I certainly thought the first two performances were very dull and predictable
During Wicked Game though I realised she was turning something very dull into being worth watching. It might have been a going home song for anyone else. This week was streets ahead for me, one of this shows finest and most subtle performances So I think I went green based on what she was actually doing ![]() |

I am bored with the rival camps repeating the same thing.Lets turn to the title of this discusion.
Why has Cowell said he prefers Rebbecca over Matt. He is a honest little soul and he cannot help but tell the truth and he beieves rebbecca will sellmore recoeds and he want her to win. All the Cowell wants is to grow the xfactor brand. he therfore wants lots of attention on his show. One way of doing this is to provoke excotement by geting two rival groups of suppoerts at it. So he says this is the Matt v Rebbecca contest. Now this is the biggest question. Which would create the most hoo haaa ramping Matt agianst Rebecca or ramping rebbecca against Matt. Discus. As a thought experiment. Which gets the public going most. Attention seeking pundit says Rooney is better than George Best. Attention seeking pundit says George Best is better then Rooney. I hope someone takes this challenge on. This Ya boo stuff is going nowhere. |

yes and cher wins ang gets everyone talking

Cher would be Emile Heskey in melv's analogy.
Henry - I never said she was poor, just not note perfect in the 1st few weeks. The last 2 she's been amazing, but I take you're point. I think we're all guilty of seeing things through green and red eyes at times. I also doubted whether Cowell would support her all the way through. That's beyond question now. |
