The market gave up on Mary winning a long time ago, I'm not so sure that scraping through into a four runner final will have a dramatic effect on the OR price. It would need one of the top 3 to be evicted I feel.

Yep, as I say the drugs haven't quite worn off yet!
Had an operation on Wednesday and the anaesthetic is still leaving me a bit woozy... Perhaps I should have waited a couple more days before starting to post again!!! [:x] |

Don't worry - sure a lot of what gets posted on here is under the influence at times...

seriously how bland were one D tonight...like muzak for lifts or supermarkets
i hope rebecca pushes into 2nd place before the final. |
|

Cowell just needs to get them to the final
No way in hell can they win it |
|
By:
how many thrown off this weekend?
|
|
By:
She's already easliy there imo aa.
An on form Matt in the final will be very hard to beat, but I think rebecca has a very decent shot (with cowell's help) to do it now. |

AA the one thing that really grates me is the whole miming thing - in a singing competition of this calibre, the World C'ships of Karaoke... a singing boy band mime!?! Horrendous stuff!

This weeks stats
1D 355 (+128) Rebecca 215 (+122) Matt 195 (-91) Cher 64 (-13) Mary 52 (+12) Cher looks the value for elim to me. |

Survation
First, the elimination. We're seeing very little between positive support for Mary and Cher so we're confident that they are the bottom 2. There is a big gap between them and One Direction who we think are in 3rd place. Cher Lloyd is the least favourite contestant of a majority of our group so we think it it is a "toss up" as to who has ...the least votes. |
|
By:
I still think Mary is the likely victim this week - but even if we agree that Cher is the value bet, how could people punt on her before the show at around 6/4?
With support from the judges almost guaranteed, surely it was better to wait until the price lengthened in running? OK, you could say that this is the benefit of hindsight, but Mary was always going to be the one most likely to shorten during the show. |

By:
Cheers figgy not getting further into this market laid mary @1.88 and backed cher @2.7 but everything tells me cher is the value to go, but with a shoite book will sit tight one of those weeks where the early bird gets the worms

I'd leave the elim alone at this point, I personally thought
Mary most likely goes, but not taking 1/3 on her if i had to back someone, I'd have thought the value was backing Rebecca to go at a big price |
|
By:
Cher looks value to me. Mary's capable of a bounce and Cher's horrible attitude was laid bare for all to see this week.
If viewed as a Mary vs Cher elimination contest, Cher is gone. It's a case of whether this is picked up by enough people. But even as a small factor, it may make the difference. |

Odd stats, 5LL. My 'to win' searches are very different at the top end.
|

By:
How did yours look Amy?
I guess it depends when you were counting them. I reset after the final song from 1D. so it should have favoured them. |
|
By:
Rather embarrassingly I've lost my stats, but Matt was pissing it. I used quotation marks, and 'did it from start of show. It's not 100% cos you get the 'I don't want Matt to win' tweets, and if someone says 'Matt or Rebecca to win' then the 2nd name is recorded. But it's a pretty good indicator overall. I had Cher on around 3x as many as Mary, but obviously Mary is massively understated on twitter so am not reading too much into that.

£11k not bad, £70k next week too, pretty good. several tens up this series already. best series ever for me, so yeah, cheers.

What do you mean "money done"? All fll was saying was cher was value. Both twitter and the polls said that cher was hovering near the bottom. It has gone to judges BECAUSE in my view she was probably bottom and cowell wanted her in the final. Clearly confirms she WAS the value bet.
Keep up. |

By:
i did my money. not blaming anyone. ive made a good few quid this season so no sour grapes but if t went bottom vote we would be quids in imv

Sorry platinni it was more rmb I couldn't get my head round what he is trying to say (no change there then). You and other cher backers have been VERY unlucky tonight imo. can't wait to see pv %'s.

ah yeah part of it but thats twice ive been fooked. had her at 16's and 14's v paige an got shafted then too. when are those figures out chief?

Those being the percentages cowell threatened to take someone to court over when they suggested he knew what they were each week? Think this week confirms whether he knows or not.
released after final pm but not sure how soon after; pretty quickly yI think. I was green on mary and red on cher but doesn't stop me being disgusted at injustice. |
|
By:
I've never bought this argument about the value bet. A bet is only value if it wins.
Mary at evens, 1/2 - even 1/3 was value once you knew there was a sing off. That was the only real imponderable. Yes, Cher probably did finish bottom of the public vote, but as always Cowell and producers conspire to get the outcome they want. I don't think it was an injustice, however; Mary was awful. I would have been glad to see the back of either of them! |
|
By:
After the last two weeks (bringing back a double elimination to get rid of Wagner, followed by a sing-off-that-never-was to get rid of Mary), let there be no more doubt about the fact that Cowell and the production team know EXACTLY how the vote is going every week...
