Right, is everyone agreed that lowest votes will go instantly, then we have a sing off between 2nd and 3rd bottom?

If that does happen, will the bet ive put on the first eviction market be void?

I put my bet on AFTER we heard that 2 would be eliminated and therefore i bet soley on who i thought would get the least votes.

I would be gutted to 'win' only to have the bet voided.

Can anyone clear up my confusion please?

Read my thread on it. I've asked Betfair and emailed them and had no clarification on that scenario which is looking ever more set in stone. Shambolic.
Report noveltybettingaddict October 10, 2010 6:15 PM BST
Would you expect bets to be voided if the first act eliminated is just on lowest votes?
Report Cider October 10, 2010 6:19 PM BST
Reading the rules again I suspect it will be voided, because of this section:

The market will be suspended when voting lines close and re-opened with unmatched bets cancelled when the acts participating in the ‘final showdown’ have been declared

Therefore, there will be a change in the established elimination procedure, if it goes as mostly expected.
Report Cider October 10, 2010 6:19 PM BST
Difficult for Betfair to rule before it has happened.
Report Angela Rebecchi October 10, 2010 6:20 PM BST
How is it difficult? If they are aware of the very likely procedure, then they can clarify what their discretional view on it is.
Report Cider October 10, 2010 6:22 PM BST
There might still be a sing-off. They can't rule on heresay.
Report noveltybettingaddict October 10, 2010 6:23 PM BST
Damn. That's such a shame. I am gutted. Because the two bets i placed on the first elimination market this evening were on acts i had stupidly backed to win it before Saturday's show!! (i did have logic for it at the time).

So not only am i going to be left embarrassed, im not even going to win the money back i wasted in the first place.

It's a shambles because as soon as dermot said two acts would be eliminated, it was blatently obvious what the proceedure would be.
Report noveltybettingaddict October 10, 2010 6:25 PM BST
There won't be three acts involved in a sing off! No chance! It will be lowest votes out instantly. Whoever is the 'first eliminated' in this case, should be the 'winning bet'. I will be so angry and disappointed if its voided.
Report George Bailey October 10, 2010 6:26 PM BST
2nd out eviction market suspended but not 1st out.  Surely if lowest votes first out bets stand. Or does change of voting procedure trump the bleedin' obvious? Come on betfair sort it out.
Report Helmuthian Folds October 10, 2010 6:29 PM BST
if as I suspect the lowest get eliminated and the other two of a bottom three sing off then I am confident that betfair will settle on the first eliminated being the one with the lowest vote.  If by some chance they had a three way sing off then the waters are rather mudded and I would expect a void market.
Report Angela Rebecchi October 10, 2010 6:31 PM BST
First elimination to be voided.
Second elimination won't be voided.

All imho oc [;)]
Report Platini October 10, 2010 6:37 PM BST
that would be no problem as long as the bookies void the 1st eviction in the same way.
Report Angela Rebecchi October 10, 2010 6:38 PM BST
Bookies won't. They'll make a nice big profit on it and won't have any reason to void.
Report noveltybettingaddict October 10, 2010 6:44 PM BST
Please can someone explain why John and FYD are drifting in the first elimination market?! Seriously, one of them is guranteed to get the lowest votes. They are significantly bigger prices than when i backed them to go about 40 mins ago. But why?
Report Angela Rebecchi October 10, 2010 6:45 PM BST
Any Other a show in.
Report George Bailey October 10, 2010 6:46 PM BST
Because any other has come in?
Report George Bailey October 10, 2010 6:49 PM BST
Who keeps sticking up 27s about fyd? What do ou know [;)]
Report noveltybettingaddict October 10, 2010 6:50 PM BST
But why has any other come in? John or FYD will get the lowest votes. Neither of those acts will still be in the show after tonight. I can't believe anyone could think different. I do want them to survive, i really do, but i can't see it in a million years.
Report George Bailey October 10, 2010 6:53 PM BST
Anyone following prices on HS bookies for Wagner will see 2.5s here as value as you are also getting the other 3 for free almost. Plenty of vfm bets and at end of day that's all you can look for.
Report noveltybettingaddict October 10, 2010 6:57 PM BST
In theory, it is 'value' to go any other - but what value is it when the bet loses. It's a dert cert to be john (and fyd are a 'dead cert' back-up plan). There is not a chance in hell Wagner will have got less votes!
Report Angela Rebecchi October 10, 2010 6:59 PM BST
You laying FYD at 27s George?
Report Angela Rebecchi October 10, 2010 7:00 PM BST
Dead cert. Well one is 6/1 and the other 25/1. So both far from certain. Any other will be 1st out, shame it's gonna be voided though.
Report stringerbell October 10, 2010 7:01 PM BST
i fear you may be right here angela. i have had no reply.
Report GeorgeBrush October 10, 2010 7:01 PM BST
Scuse my ignorance Angie, why will it be void? Been concentrating on the main market
Report bunnyman October 10, 2010 7:03 PM BST
As long as the 1st person who goes has the lowest vote then there is a sing off for the next place it is an established procedure and won't be voided.
Report George Bailey October 10, 2010 7:03 PM BST
I agree but plenty think HS bookies seldom get things badly wrong. I think they have. Nothing tonight is a "dead cert" so have a go at the 2 you fancy but if you really are an addict I'd ask someone to lock up your mortgage deeds [;)]
Report Angela Rebecchi October 10, 2010 7:06 PM BST
The market will be suspended when voting lines close and re-opened with unmatched bets cancelled when the acts participating in the ‘final showdown’ have been declared. The market will then be suspended when the elimination is announced. Customers are entirely responsible for their positions at all times. If there is an announcement of any change to the established elimination procedure or any ambiguity as to who is voted off, then Betfair reserves the right to void this market at its absolute discretion.

This is not a normal eviction process, bottom votes straight out. So it's their discretion as to whether or not to void.

Going on their BB ruling then it'll be voided imho.
Report Angela Rebecchi October 10, 2010 7:10 PM BST
It's certainly a grey area, as last double eviction following this procedure was 2006, 4 years ago. Though you have a very fair and valid point.
Report ----you-have-to-laugh--- October 10, 2010 7:10 PM BST
can you have an established elimination procedurefor the first show of a new series where the format of the show is different to previous series ? is there likely to be a problem ?
Report Angela Rebecchi October 10, 2010 7:11 PM BST
Shame they couldn't respond to us either way.
Report George Bailey October 10, 2010 7:13 PM BST
If lowest vote goes first then I think they would use discretion and not void. Ihate it when I have a decent bet (for me!) but there's a question mark over it like this.

To be fair to BF until we are told the format how can they rule on it?
Report Angela Rebecchi October 10, 2010 7:15 PM BST
It is an established procedure. Will almost definitely be settled, might get involved now, but prices moving so much that it can only mean one thing, insiders.
Report George Bailey October 10, 2010 7:17 PM BST
Just because you are paranoid Angela doesn't mean they are not out to get you!
Report Angela Rebecchi October 10, 2010 7:18 PM BST
They're out to get us all! It's a conspiracy god damn it!

PMSL. Once their compilers work out if the result is good or bad for them. Shambles.
Report Goldie08 October 10, 2010 7:27 PM BST
Bookmakers will pay out as 1st eliminated. So bottom will be first eliminated.

betfair will void.
Report Angela Rebecchi October 10, 2010 7:57 PM BST
As long as a first elimination is announced and one of the four wildcards who came in yesterday (who come under Any Other’) goes out then the market will be settled as expected.
Report Angela Rebecchi October 10, 2010 7:58 PM BST
Looks like no void officialy, though worded horribly.
Report George Bailey October 10, 2010 8:00 PM BST
Why do one of the wildcards HAVE to go out..non comprendo.Confused
Report ihatehwb October 10, 2010 8:00 PM BST
why on earth have they not made a statement on the event.  It's pathetic
Report Angela Rebecchi October 10, 2010 8:01 PM BST
They've worded it horribly. I think they just mean, as long as Any Other are up for eviction, which they are.

They're going to settle basically.
Report George Bailey October 10, 2010 8:03 PM BST
Doesn't that make a bet on any other an incredible value bet?
Report Goldie08 October 10, 2010 8:03 PM BST
lol
Report Angela Rebecchi October 10, 2010 8:03 PM BST
Makes it the same bet as it always was. They just mean as long as Any Other are up for eviciton, which they are.
Report George Bailey October 10, 2010 8:06 PM BST
Not what it says. It says if one of the wildcards "goes out". What does that mean?
Report Angela Rebecchi October 10, 2010 8:07 PM BST
It's worded incorrectly ffs.
Report George Bailey October 10, 2010 8:11 PM BST
If BF were organised they'd be dangerous.
Report alfie46 October 10, 2010 8:11 PM BST
people betting on outcome of whether betfair suspend.total joke betfair please try to be sensible or STOP DOING EVICTION MARKETS
Report Platini October 10, 2010 8:12 PM BST
that's not how i read it. IMO it means as long as either Any Other goes out OR DOESNT go out on 1st eviction. in other words, they can't void it.
Report George Bailey October 10, 2010 8:13 PM BST
