You missed one major contributing cause.......BLOODY VUVUCHUFFINZELAS.
And yes, it is the worst ever. Well, since 1982 when I started watching them. |

No - last one in Krautland was rubbish

teams were just as boring in Italia90, including Brazil, (and England of course, who went through their group 1-1, 0-0, 1-0 again). but all the other stuff makes this much, much worse, especially the lack of decent goals; too many poor ones down to keeper error. 48 group games and hardly an interesting moment. feel cheated by the whole thing. my favourites were 1978, 1986 and 1998

Worst one I can remember.

It's not noticeably worse than 1990, 1994 or 2006 in my opinion.

Great Great Great British officials have saved this WC. ITV analysis last night should have spent a bit more time on the brilliant flagging on the run and Kaka exchanging **** with Webb in mutual slightly manlove admiration

No No No The officials from these fair islands have saved this world cup. Great flagging on the run, humour, physicalitalitality they have it all. They'll be dancing in the streets of Rotherham whenEl Ebbo swaps sweaty shirts in harmonious mutual affection and appreciation with El Messi.
|

By:
'This Wolrd Cup is becoming superb. Now the minnows are out we see the real cream. ' - no, the minnows didn't even qualify, 1hearts. Like...scotland. Again.
Also, are Italy minnows? I thought they were the world champions... |

REBELFM, I have absolutely no fookin idea what you are talking about. I think it's supposed to be funny, but really, I haven't a clue what you are referring to. Please give further explanation in future.

Best WC ever was Italia '90. Hands down. Then USA '94. Then 2002.
This has been alright except for the vuvuzelas. Whoever invented those should have one inserted, 4nally. Whoever uses one is seriously mentally ill and should not be allowed out, ever. |

Laugh England out so may a well rubbish the competition. Sad England fans as predictable as ever. ------------ some people just try to be idiots, I'm convinced of it. when was the thread started? when did England go out? and who are the English posters (give you a clue - I'm not English)? |
|
By:
Hard to judge a world cup til its finished surely...Lets face it loads of them have crap games...Not sure where Ialia 90 being a great wc comes from? Very few decent games loads of empty seats and the final had to be the worst EVER
|

By:
Last 3 Euro's better than last 3 WC's imho

this world cup is on a par with that dreadful one in usa 94 so far and by the time its finished it may have exceeded it,severely underwhelmed by the games so far and i'm not alone.

Poor WC forget England...
No high scoring draws.. No Great goals No Passion from the grounds (due to the fly problem in SA) No Nothing Hoping to see something today.... And its not about winning or losing monies or England going out. As i kid the WC was the dogs balls i loved it remember nothing of the Above bar USA. Was only 8 in 82 which i do remember. Will the kids remember this WC?? only for the bloody flys buzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzing around.... |

England are always the most boring team anyway (did you know they have gone through the group stage three times with a 0-0, 1-0 and 1-1?), and must have the record for most 0-0s
clinging to the hope that Netherlands Brazil will be something, but I think it will be a tense affair. Germany Argentina should be a cracker though |
|
By:
basically there are 4 games that can possibly save some credability in this world cup
holland v brazil germany v argentina spain v ger/arg spa/ger/arg v bra/holl anything involing paraguay or uraguay is going to be the usual snash that this world cup has served up these 4 games although a great chance they will also be snash, at least have a shot of being world cup worthy, im holding my breath. |
|
By:
well we've had 56 matches so far.......i dont see the remainder saving this world cup at all
|
|
By:
The 'great' world cups are remembered for a handful of really special matches (apart, maybe, from 1970). There is still plenty of potential for those matches to take place given the teams left in it. There have been some decent matches so far too but never as interesting when theres less riding on it. The England Germany game was excellent and Spain Portugal was a very good game too.
I reckon the arg germany game could be one to remember. |

A crap ball that is too light and got a mind of his own doesn't help. Go to youtube and look at the video clip of the top 50 goals and watch how the ball flies through the air and compare to this crap ball. Huge noticeable different.

By:
fitting end to the worst world cup ever!!!
|
|
By:
spoilt with all the footer on telly....throughout the year.
|
|
By:
im not sure of the exact stats but in world cup matches england have played about 57 matches since their first entry and have a record 19 0-0 draws
|
|
By:
It is true that England have drawn 19 of 59 World Cup Finals matches, but 'only' ten have been 0-0.
The others: 4-4 v Belgium in 1954, 2-2 v Soviet Union and Austria in 1958, 1-1 v Republic of Ireland and West Germany in 1990, 2-2 v Argentina in 1998, 1-1 v Sweden in 2002, 2-2 v Sweden in 2006 and 1-1 v USA in 2010. |
|
By:
utter rubbish world cup , empty seats , football at a level below club football , usa qualified , armed guards , razor wire , vuvuzelas and so on
|
|
By:
without question the worst world cup i have seen, seen them all since 1970 which by the way was the best world cup i will ever see i have no doubt in that. i dont really think we need 32 teams in it, 16 in 1970 was fine it worked well small teams like isreal and el salvador qualified so it wasnt exclusive to the big boys.
