Based on what?
The entire AIM market is down recently, especially miners. Are you saying mining companies are a bad investment - and why? Come back in 2 years +. Unless you are trying to jinx this in your usual style, if not then I applaud you. ![]() |

Why invest in falling stocks?

Tar & brush for MT.
Saying that I've avoided HER & only know enough about them that put me off. Also bailed out of CLON. Del Boy would be well suited in their boardroom. |

By:
exactly ban what they have is out in the open but the price falls what does that say to you whippet?
|

By:
What part of the ENTIRE AIM MINING SECTOR has gone down do you not understand?
Are you saying all the companies are rubbish, and if so, why? |

Looks better as two separate charts, but even your thick brain should be able to see that clearly, HER has followed the general market direction because there hasn't been any news flow. So please, in your expert opinion, tell us why the AIM mining sector is not a good investment, because the price action you keep harping on about isn't just restricted to HER. Every single share is doing it. |

By:
As per usaual people on here result to insults.
to blame poor performance on the whole market is a bit of a cop out. no lets be sensible why not tell ushere you expect this to go? 5p 10p 12p??? |
|
By:
so markets dowm -3% her -17% thats not exactly following the general market imo.
|
|
By:
Anyhoot not here to argue and have to admit to being in mostly aim junior miners.
any suggestions as to bargains in other sectors? |
|

only way to beat the AIM is to invest based on fundamentals alone. The AIM is very unpredictable, and the small companies always start drifting when there is no news (and by news I mean drilling results or new projects, because that is the only thing the market reacts to). HER has had no news since december, so it is no surprise the price has gone down. People get bored very easily in the AIM, because it is like a big casino, and they hop from one company to another based on who is next to release results. You can beat it though if you are prepared to sit and hold, and wait for the fundamentals to shine through. Btw, I suggest you rethink your views on price dips, because these are the best time to invest, if you think the company is good. No share ever goes up in a straight line, however good it is.
The only time you should really be selling is if the fundamentals change. They haven't yet, so I'm staying in HER until then. My price target is 20p (conservative) in 2 years. As you have read up on it already MT - the Patricia resource has the following inventory - 101,260 tonnes Zinc; 33,200 tonnes lead; 8,219,017 oz Silver; 13,876 oz Gold. I believe at current metal prices that should be worth 9.25p in the long run. Then there is the Doris, La Rosa, and new joint venture project to price in. So there is big potential imo. There is news on the doris drilling and the new joint venture due any day now, so now is a good time (and good price) to get in imo. |

I have to say loking at the price dips of other aim shares you are correct they move up and down regular.
and the fact its now 3p a share im going to go in for some in the morning. cheers whippet, any views on cad? I am well up on that and feel after the news the price should of gone up rather than held around the 50p. |
|
By:
I like cad as well. I know what you mean about the price after the news - but I think that was already priced in, as people have been predicting that was going to happen for months. Another thing to bear in mind is that the deal actually hasn't been signed off yet, that will come in june. It is interesting to note that there has been a very large buy going through at the end of each day for the past week or so. Someone accumulating stock maybe? 250,000 shares have been bought each time. I heard that there was some fund trying to buy in, perhaps it is them. If big players are involved then we are kind of stuck for now, as they do have the power to influence prices in their favour. I tend to think that the price isnt going to do much till june, so you could risk selling, buying something else where, then getting back in in june, but you also might find it is 60p by then. What I'm going to do I think is just hold, and buy some more whilst it is around 50p, if I get any spare cash. I reckon 60-70p in june, and probably £1 by the year end.

By:
bought at 16p so will prob secure profit at over 60p.
I suppose the longer you have invested the more obvious the tell tale signs are. Set up the trade to buy her at 3p in morning. I will have to become a follower not a knocker then. |
|
By:
are you doing spread bets/cfds MT? or are you actually buying the shares?

By:
When did you buy CAD @ 16p, MONEY TREE?

Good RNS today MT. Up 6.5% today. Looks like you got in at a great time, jammy git lol.
http://www.herenciaresources.com/_content/documents/453.pdf The bit about producing 1 million Oz silver per year (and perhaps forward selling part of it) is very good, if they can pull that off then it will mean that they won't have to do any/less additional fundraising (which means no share dilution). Here is a good post from snowleopard over on iii discussion boards. This guy is a professional geologist so knows his stuff. Hi Broxi and other Herencians. Right now I am doing some fieldwork along the north Tibetan margin in western China and have the world's slowest internet connection -seriously, I am out here for a few weeks in the middle of nowhere - there are snow leopards in the stunning mountains here, by the way. I did manage to download the RNS earlier this evening and here are my impressions: Overall the RNS makes excellent reading and in my opinion is what we were hoping for (I feel that way at least). I am very excited by the increased potential for a buried porphyry copper (gold?) system . If so, then there is real jackpot potential - the mining world will be very interested. in addition, the positive news about the IOCG JV is great news, if the prospect is as high grade as the initial results suggest. I think my over-arching impression is that the company has now increased the number of targets at Paguanta. Again, as stated previously, this suggests that the entire Paguanta area represents a prolific and protracted mineralising system with major vein mineralisation at Patricia and certainly now Doris (new intercepts and grades suggest veins were intersected during drilling - perhaps running towards la Rosa - unclear from RNS but good news overall), a major new N-S vein which may be related to the east bounding fault system that was presumably a major fluid conduit, and an interesting oxidised zone SW of La Rosa which may be high-grade due to secondary enrichment - secondary oxidised caps are often important ore zones in Chilean porphyry copper deposits. So in my opinion, the company must now realise that there is an awful lot under the surface at Paguanta - more than they have previously reported and much more to discover and prove up. Basically, so far they have proven up rich vein systems (which keep getting bigger and more extensive), but the metals must have come from depth and important ore zones may reside in deeper porphyry intrusions which they have more evidence for now. I am not a foolish optimist and have been looking very carefully at my Herencia investment with the recent SP slide, but now feel that there is enough geological information provided to indicate that they are sitting on a really exciting polymetallic prospect which will continue to reveal high grades and significant tonnages with further exploration. The comments about the silver by-products are also very reassuring and should fuel more optimism. On another note, I am not an economist but when you travel through China you realise how badly this country will need raw minerals and energy resources in the future. From the Xian airport to the city centre a few days ago, I counted over 100 very tall high-rise apartment blocks being built, and it is the same in every city here. The growth here is phenomenal. Chinese geologists are looking everywhere for mineral deposits. It seems incongruous that people are talking about a commodities bubble when you travel in this part of the world. Anyway, enough rambling. I think the RNS is another confidence building stepping stone and hope all Herencians are buoyed by the good news it contains. Best wishes to all. |

By:
YES THAT WAS GREAT TIMING.
looks like they found more than they thought. bonus, where do you see sp in the next 12 months? |
|
By:
I reckon 20p by the time production starts end 2012. 10p I hope by the end of this year. I reckon that is a conservative prediction as well, could potentially be a lot higher with further discoveries/metal price increases.
Here is project timetable for this year: May - Finalisation of JV agreement to acquire 51% interest in new copper-gold opportunity and confirmation of project details Mobilise ‘multi-purpose’ Drill Rig to site - begin infill drilling at Patricia (Following permitting) Jun - Drill assay results from La Rosa + remaining doris samples Update on infill drilling at Patricia IOCG Project - geological mapping / surface sampling Q3 Jul - Progress update on infill drilling at Patricia IOCG Project - commencement of geophysics Aug - Final drill assay results from Patricia Sept – IOCG Project - finalisation of geophysics and confirmation of drilling Q4 Oct – IOCG Project - Commence drilling Updated JORC mineral resource estimate incorporating drill results from infill Patricia, Doris and La Rosa Nov – IOCG Project – Drilling results Completion of feasibility study, incorporating updated mineral resource from Patricia, Doris and La Rosa, and DMS results Dec - Project update So there is drilling results coming out almost every month. So should see a nice tick up in price from now on imo. |

cheers whippet think I got on at perfect time.
will keep topping up when funds allow. what you post as on ii forum? |
|
By:
I'm called the_alchemist on iii
There are some other dirt cheap companies out there atm as well MT, all who have produced good project updates recently, but whose share price have declined a bit as well due to general market sentiment. Now's a good time to be buying any of them imo. Check out my thread on AIM stocks, but my fav ones are SNRP, OTC and CNR. All long term holds. All of them are trading near their lows as well. Nows the time to be buying if you've got the cash. |
|
By:
LOL READ YOU STUFF MANY TIMES.
im in on snrp think long term should be a winner. |

yeh i saw xel today. not in it myself, but seems cheap now?

Just reading the reports from xel, presumbly the drill test results are far worse than expected? Does look tempting now, whippet.

By:
cheap,but could get cheaper.............
|
|
By:
trading at 2.7, looking cheap to get invovled now
|
|
By:
carnage.
|
|
By:
carnage across the board lmao. All of my shares have got mullered bar SNRP. Some of these shares have got to be ridiculously undervalued now. I wouldn't like to pick the bottom on any of these, but considering most have lost 20-50% from their highs a few months ago, there has to be a lot of bargains out there now if you have cash and are prepared to wait 1-2 years for returns. Condor is another one that has got raped recently, they are only 6.75p now, they recently did a placement at 9.0p with some major institutions, so look value.
|
|
By:
why are snrp no been hit and dropped?
|
|
By:
I think it must be because coal is generally quite stable in price, and the long term demand for it is pretty assured. Whereas metal and oil prices are very volatile, as you have seen recently. Thus AIM miners and oil companies are getting mullered recently because both metal and oil prices have dipped. It is also possible that the recent good news from the company helped keep it's price up. It may have been a case that in good market conditions we would have hit 40p on that news, but it has been suppressed at these prices because of the general market. I think this is a really good company to hold long term, and I am planning to invest a bit in it every month. They have an enormous amount of work on their hands, but I think if you are willing to hold for a few years + this will be worth £5+ a share at least.
|
|
By:
how fast do you think the recovery from this massive dip will take?
had to free up some funds today only snrp and cad in profit so sacrificed some of them, will buy back but hope its not at much bigger price. |
